Sept 20,2011 Wonder Repositioning Cruise

Holy cow, I have so many posts to catch up on!!
We are flying up to Seattle this weekend and then taking the morning train from Seattle to Vancouver on Monday (9/19) and staying at the Blue Horizon hotel in Vancouver. We hope to go to the Aquarium on Monday afternoon.
In addition to the items listed above (great list by the way), I bring a little nightlight (it gets really dark in the rooms at night) or some extra glow sticks to hang in the room (kinda fun to look at in the dark- LOL!) Also, a stick-up/sachet to hang in the bathroom (for some reason it was a little musty in our bathroom). They don't sell gum on the ship, so bring it with you. They have washer/dryers on the ship so I tend to pack lite and do a load of laundry halfway through. It get's cool and windy up on deck at night (at least it was on our Feb. MR cruise) so bring a light jacket. Ziploc bags come in handy when you want to pack some snacks for the excursions. I guess I'd better start on my packing!! See y'all soon :wizard:

Plus we have FE gifts to pack, the odd things like glow sticks and ds's light up mickey spinner that we got on clearance at walmart a few years ago, lol. Probably some bandaids for blisters and ****oos.

And because I'm sooooooooooo mature, I just had to sit and work out what was being censored in that deceptively innocent sentence! :rotfl2: Silly auto-censor!

And our boarding time is at 12:30. Can we get there earlier and stand in line, or is 12:30 the hard time? Never boarded a cruise boat before, not sure of the process. Just seven days and a wake up!

Hey, we have a 12:30 check in time too! See you there :)
I picked that time thinking we'd be arriving that morning so didn't want an early check in. Now that we're coming over the night before I wish I had picked earlier! I looked to see if we could change it but nothing earlier shows as available. Ah well, at least we can let the kids sleep in a bit on Tuesday. If they're not awake at 5 am bouncing off the walls with excitement!

Now we're planning to drive up in to Surrey on Monday night. It's only 5 1/2 hours and it will get us across the border and, what, 45 minutes to the port? My dad and DH like this idea a lot better. They want to be across that border just in case!

My FE turned out so cute! My gifts are pretty small, I am thinking I will have to pack an extra bag to take home all the crazy stuff you guys are giving out! :rotfl:

I can't find my FE list with all the room corrections on it!!!! Is the one on the first page all current?

10 day forecast says rain for Vancouver and about 65 degrees. I'm hoping it changes but if it doesn't I'll be prepared.

Never been on a ship in the rain...do they cancel the sail away parties? Are the pools still open?

I am pretty sure this has everyone's "correct" info...

the one time i was in a huge rain storm - you wouldn't WANT to be in the pools - you'd get pummeled by the rain or sloshed out it was crazy...good day to hit the spa...i HOPE we don't have rain during the sailaway....

Did you see the post about track work between Seattle and Vancouver? You might want to check with Amtrak and see what the status is...

We're in the exact same box - it was the earliest time we could get. I'm going to wander over earlier and see if they'll let us in line. Probably not before about 11:30, though - I don't want to make people cranky. I wonder if I can hide sedatives in the kids' orange juice at breakfast just to get them to calm down. 'Course, I'm gonna need one, too, as soon as I see the boat!!!

Hey, Strawberry Brenda. Looks like you have about a week to go!! Don't mind the rain too much. Vancouver looked very nice from what little I saw of it. I am sure that you will have a great time, rain or shine.

Look forward to chatting with you when you return.

You are definitely right - a little rain will not ruin our fUN - Just had hoped for a little sun
Yes we will definitely chat when I get back!!

Well it turns out since we are staying overnight at the Vancouver Piedmont Hotel which is on Disney's list of hotels for transportation, we can board the Wonder anytime before 3:00pm. No boarding time for us......and I was beginning to get worried.

Bummer about the change in the weather! We have just had an amazing 2 weeks of 80-90 (27-32 for us Cdns!) degree sunshine!

It won't be too cold or wet though. I promise :)

Question:

How are the Disneyland trip people getting to their hotels after the cruise?

How are the Disneyland trip people getting to their hotels after the cruise?

We are using Socalimo.com
Oddly enough a limo was abou the same price for the 6 of us as a shuttle van, lol.

I JUST noticed the censor on my last post, haha!
They censored out boo boos because of "boo.b" :rotfl2::rotfl2:

On another note; just learned how to do HDR (high dynamic range) photos with my camera :)
:banana::banana::banana: (oh wait someone here doesn't like the bananas do they?? opps ;):rolleyes1

30% chance of rain means 70% chance of "no" rain :) We will be prepared too, welcome to the Pacific Northwest and bring an umbrella. :thumbsup2

We are on the Amtrak Cascades #510 from Seattle to Vancouver on
Sept 19th. I called Amtrak and they advised the track repair delays do not effect that train.:yay:
