They really don't seem to know what they are doing this cruise do they? I hope everything else runs smoothly.

For those who have been to Gilbraltar before, will I have time to do the dolphin world cruise and the cable car and nature reserve, including a visit to St Michael's caves, in the time we have in port? Thanks for all your help. val

You should have plenty of time. After touring the rock and having fish & chips at a pub, we made our way back to the ship, freshened up, then headed out on a DCL excursion for high tea.

Personally I'm not too bothered about the actual restaurant, as long as I am eating with friends.:yay: Having said that Parrot Cay is my least favourite and I am always cold there, but I won't be caring. I will have to eat there some nights anyway.
Same here - just glad to be onboard and with such a great bunch... I hadn't thought about the cold thing, Marilyn but you're right - PC IS always chilly!!! Mind you, I wear a cardi in all the restaurants - none of them are what I'd call warm...

Not to worry, Wedgeh, I'm fairly new to this board as well. (Although I was a first day booker for this cruise, like you.) In fact, guess I'm just not savvy enough to figure all these posting things. I still don't know how to do the quotes! But, I do check in and try to catch up and can say that we are going to have a nice group of people onboard, and I'm looking forward to meeting everyone next week. (Now, for a little help with the quotes. Anyone? Please!:))

Everywhere was freezing in February. Corridors, restaurants, everywhere, and it wasn't particularly cold out. I hope it is better this time.

:thumbsup2Well I do not care what restaurant I am in. But I am annoyed at how we try and plan for a group of nearly 400 and DCL just thinks it can do what it wants.

We will all be checking the update board. Cause I bet when we get on it will change again.!!!

But we need to find a night for our MMC shirts. Some people paid alot of money getting shirts for this event. Me not so much :rotfl:

Maybe DCL should be made more aware of how big this group is.

Also how come we do not hold a big Dis gathering like Cruise Critics does???

Do they get a special deal.????

Oh and for the person that is working on changing the time they go to sleep and get up I had to laugh.

Hubby goes to bed every night at 9:00pm and gets up at 5:00am for work.

Me it is more like 10:00 getting up at 5:30

Keep us posted.

Thanks for the reply Monica. Safe to say 2 hours on the mountain is enough? Including waiting to get into the cave? Thanks again val

OK - in addition to the sour news I got on rotations, I did get Autumn involved with out tasting seminars. I have an outstand question on them, but will go so far as to say that I am happier with them than the dining...

More on those tonight... I have to get back to work...

Thanks once again for all you're doing to help us Sue :goodvibes

That is THE question seeing as things have always been muddled as far as the rotation went!! I think we might just have to wait and see.

You are right of course!

You're welcome, hun. Must be such a worry..

Any idea what rotation we're on, Mandy???

No, sorry Kaz :sad2:

And you used it very expertly!!! :rotfl2: Yes, sadly I am. :sad2: I was on the phone with my DD when I spotted it - musta popped her eardrums with my scream, poor love...

As for the 8 legged monster, I've ordered my son a pizza (online and from the safety of my bedroom) for his 'last night of the hols' dinner and won't be going downstairs to the living room until more menfolk are home... Can't wait to escape my arachnophobia by going on the cruise... :teeth:

*shudder* I would do exactly the same Kaz!:thumbsup2

You'll be keeping warm with all the laughter (not to mention cocktails) :goodvibes

I've sent a note to the rest of the group. I believe Todd may have just landed in BCN. I'll try to text him a little later.

Thanks!!

I think we ARE having several big gatherings, more so than Cruise Critic. I don't have time to be on CC as well as keep up here though, so maybe they do something really big that I don't know about. :confused3 What kind of gathering do they have?

DCL does know how big the DIS is and usually gives us a shout out on the special itineraries where there are big groups of us. They also lurk here and try to keep their finger on our pulse. Although sometimes we are a moving target! :rolleyes1

As to the change....several of us just could not believe that they would be doing formal night on a port day, just based on previous experience. How would we have time to get all our mentionables tightened up? :rotfl:

I've made it downstairs - but remain wary!!! :scared1:

Keep us posted.

I organized a Meet and Greet for a group from Cruise Critic, and I am no one but a member/contributor to cruise critic, while on a Princess Cruise in November. Princess could not have been more helpful. They had someone at corporate I contacted who setup a place for us to meet. They provided a lounge, bartender and free snacks after the boat drill. She also posted the meeting in the officers daily. When I got to the ship there was a letter waiting for me from the head purser offering any help our group needed. The CD, his assistant, the hotel manager, the purser, restuarant lead and a couple of other officers came to meet us, talked about the ship, offerred to help us if we needed anything and of course offered to help us with our reviews. I was very very impressed. I guess DCL is so popular they don't need to worry about people writing poor reviews. val

:lmao::lmao::lmao: At least we could have jogged around the ports and not eaten anything(because who pays for food off the ship:scared1:) and then our mentionables wouldn't have been tight!!:rotfl: Now we will have to lounge about and eat all day!!!

You must be pretty close to Kaz, Richard, as you're both in Kent :goodvibes Hope you're enjoying our lovely weather!:cool2::rotfl2:

:littleangel:

Yes, we are - my DW grew up in Bexleyheath, and we have several very good friends in this part of the world. And tonight the weather is lovely, albeit with a number of clouds. :goodvibes

Our traveling between friends also explains why I'm so erratic - or at least so erratic about posting. I'm erratic about other things because that's just me. :upsidedow
