I had work done on my toe and so did my husband and the discomfort afterwards was nothing compared to the pain before the doctor. I would go. I hope he is doing okay.

Sarah, I was laughing because I cannot imagine anything "diet" being lush!:rotfl2: That is how I will describe Palo dessert, but definitely not a diet bar!!!:lmao:

:lmao: When you are dieting the tiniest naughty thing can be lush. Just the thinnest chocolate coating on a diet bar can make all the difference.:rolleyes1

As my last official duty before we sail to worlds end (there be many unofficial duties yet to accomplish...:lmao::lmao:)

I Give you Pt 10 of the cruise Thread !!!!

Well said. I feel so cheap when I swoon at a weight watchers imitation ice cream bar. I also find myself smelling chocolate. val

I used to sneak into the store cupboard and eat the cheapest cooking chocolate just to actually taste something chocolatey!!! Years ago that stuff was nasty, but it did the trick!!!

Pins

Great news about the pins.

They did arrive today at my home, and my husband (Patrick) and i think they look great. I was a bit nervous of how they will look when they were ready.
But we're very happy whit the pins.

I will try to put a photo on the board on thursday.
But before i will post it on this board i will send a picture to Noel and John because they did help me. And John did make something special???

Connie

I am not caught up...I still have to do that, but I wanted to post that I just read on the CM Cast Portal that Peter is the CD on the Magic until at least September 4. It only goes up to that date. I'll keep checking for everyone though. :)

Hi All

Here's a Cruise question i don't think we've discussed (so clearly it's not going to be about underwear ;) )

What 1 (NON Living) thing, do you (do you think you'll) miss most when you're on the ship for 14 days.???

NON living so no votes for family, friends and pets, as we'll all miss them...

SW

P.s. for me it'll be the Internet, as i'm such a www Junkie.

Hello everyone -

I was last on Page 111, so if there's anything between when Gizmo Sarah published the nearly final mini-navigator and now, I've missed it. So if there was anything specifically addressed to me, please PM me. I do know I have some hotel and flight updates to make, so I'll try to get to those this weekend.

The last six days have been a whirlwind and haze. One of my friends, Becky, for the past 27 years was told last week she had two days to live. They found she had pancreatic cancer after they believed she just had a kidney stone. She had better predictions a few days before that, to the point that she would go home and start chemo that would prolong her life for about a year. Not sure if she had really even decided to move forward on that plan or not. Everything just changed SO fast. I'm thankful that three other friends and I got to be with her all of her last day on Earth on Saturday. So for those who believe, please pray for her mom who's now lost her soul mate and her first born. They are an extremely close family, and anywhere you saw Becky, her mom was with her. Parents just shouldn't have to watch their children come in and out of the world. I'm getting ready to head back to my hometown for calling hours tonight and her funeral tomorrow, so her family really needs some extra strength in the next 24 hours and beyond.

Then....I have to get back home for Lisa's memorial on Thursday. She's the one who I told you drowned in the Atlantic on August 15. I highly encourage all of you to "Like" the group "Shea It Forward" (like pay-it-forward) on Facebook in honor of her. Share random acts of kindness that you've given out or received. It's so enriching to see how wonderfully selfless people can be.

I hope everyone's pre-boarding plans are being executed and everyone's really excited. I have to admit that I've had a hard time with my checklist nor desire to read the boards, but thankfully I had a huge jump start on my packing. See...things happen for a reason.

My mom is going to come down and stay with me Friday. We're going to finally go see the Titanic exhibit at COSI here in Columbus. Its exhibit is over here on Monday, so we had to get it in this week since we failed to do it earlier. Despite the timing, I'm looking forward to seeing it. I was so disappointed when it was here last time and I missed it. This time, they have artifacts that haven't ever been displayed to the public before, so I guess it will be even better.

On Thursday night or Friday, I'll try to get back on and stick with you all until we begin our adventure! I really can't wait to be with all of you. Many of you have been soooo supportive to me on Facebook (you know who you are!), and I really really appreciate it. I know sometimes people just don't have the words to say, and I assure you I feel you thinking of me, too.

To all of our B2Bers who are about to leave, have safe travels and a WONDERFUL time on your Med cruise! I can't wait to hear all about it!

Love you all!
Kimberly
:grouphug:

I am so sorry for your losses. You and the families of your friends are in my thoughts and prayers.

I hope that you have a wonderful time at the Titanic Exhibition. We had one in London a few years ago and it was wonderful. I also have been to the Titanic attraction in Orlando.

Sandi just called me with WONDERFUL NEWS. Her tests today showed everything is good. :yay::yay::yay::yay: We are going to have a great cruise.

That is indeed wonderful news. I am so glad that everything is OK.

So, I will admit this up front - I haven't read anythign since last night but I just heard from Autumn and I have to tell someone (or 100 people ;)) te news!!

MY MAGNETS ARE ON THE SHIP!!!!!

Autumn wrote to tell me that Lynda wrote to her to let me know that she will be our onboard Concierge and that she was given the magnets and will take extra special care to have them placed on your door prior to your arrival.

My staff officially wants to beat me!!! I am so excited I am practically bouncing in my seat...:banana::banana:

OK - going back to my meeting... Ill be back later to catch up!!

I am glad that everything got there OK. I would love to see your kids’ faces when they notice to room change. I hope that they both will be happy about this.

We went to see Dennis' opthomologist this morning and he said it was a "perfect transplanted lens!" :dance3: Good news from Montana too! :)

More great news. I hope that Dennis is fully recovered by the time you leave for Barcelona.

My kind of dress - love it!

This is the one i got from Debenhams

This is a gorgeous dress.

you may remember i posted a few days ago that DCL had withdrawn my early booking onboard room credit as i had 'amended' my booking - ie offered me the upgrade that i had requested to begin with, which i accepted, and paid more money for (and earlier).

Well i emailed to express my disappointment (nicely), and i am pleased to say that i had an email back this morning advising me that they are crediting my credit card with $300 for the med cruise and the $200 credit will be available for the TA - good times!!
Lorraine

I am glad that DCL did the right thing by you.

Hello, my name is Ana, my husband is Mario and we have a boy, Ruben, who is seven years old, and a girl, Alicia, six years old. You are very kind. We will try to practise our English.I am grateful to you very much for the explanations, though I don´t understand them completely. In the web of transatlantic pirates our disname is MONPORMA. I will copy the logo of the shirts and then I will do shirts for all of us. Is that correct? We will come to Barcelona on the 18th, because I work on the 17th, but I will be delighted if you have any doubt about Barcelona in answering you.Barcelona is a very nice city. You must see the Sagrada Familia, the park Guell, the Port Olimpic and Poblenou. There is a turistic bus with different routes. I advise you that you have care with the pickpockets.

Welcome on board. We are hoping to see Sagrada Familia and Park Guell on our half day in Barcelona.

So I outsmarted myself.....I was not supposed to have my physical until sometime in October....but since I am a Type 2 diabetic I have been on medication that I take by mouth. I figured since we would be on the ship for 2 weeks and probably eating things we never usually eat I would have the physical early. So I had it today--having the blood work last week. Doctor was not happy with the numbers so he is changing my medication to an injectable medication which I have to do myself each day. So now I have medication that needs to be refrigerated and now I have to also carry needles with me. So we will be flying for over 8 hours, so I guess I will have to ask the flight attendants to refrigerate it for me and will have to go through all the security checkpoints with needles. I am so smart....could not just leave things alone until we got back......doctor gave me a note that I need to carry the medication with me on the plane along with the needles....Just something else to worry about.
Tom

It is not possible to refrigerate medication on board an aircraft. Unlike a normal refrigerator on land, the temperature of the refrigerators on board an aircraft is not constant and would damage the medication. This is especially the case with insulin. Maybe you could look into getting a special cold back that is Ok for use in aircrafts. As far as carrying the medication and the needles is concerned, that won’t be a problem at all provided that you have a letter from your doctor, which might or might not be asked for.

So today was a sucessful cruise prep day. I was able to find a pair of pants that my mom is going to shorten into capris as well as a dress that I'm planning on wearing on formal night. It's not that formal, but I really like it and I"m looking forward to wearing it. I got it at Marshall's (sp) - it was originally $99 and I got it for $29.99! I was happy with the deal.

I am glad that you found a dress for Formal Night that you like.

We are Barry and Teresa from Alabama, traveling with DS Andrew (23) and with all of you. Sorry we are too late to join in most of your activities, but we hope to meet many of you on the cruise. We are in room 8042 and on second dining. Have decided to forgo formal nights this trip as it is too much to carry the extra clothing (we have to bring the pirate stuff of course). We are on the flight leaving Atlanta on the 17th arriving on the 18th in Barcelona. Hope to get a quick tour of the city before the cruise. This is my 7th Disney cruise and 7 days never seemed like enough. Will be interesting to see how 14 days will be. I hope everyone has a safe and uneventful trip to Barcelona. See you on the cruise. :mickeyjum

Welcome on board, Barry, Teresa and Andrew. We are Corinna and Graham from Manchester in the UK and this will be our 5th Disney Cruise. I agree with you that 7 days does not seem quite long enough. We have done a 5 night cruise and a 4 night cruise with one night in a hotel in between, a 7 night cruise and an 11 night cruise. There are still so many things that I have never managed to do before and I hope that I will get the chance this time round.

I packed my package that I will send to the ship earlier today and it will be picked up by the courier service on Friday. It is weighing nearly 20 kg between magnets, Fish Extender gifts, Secret Mickey gifts and jewellery making tools. There was no way I could have taken all of this as my total luggage allowance is only 20 kg for the suitcase and 10 kg for the carry on.

There are a few things that I still have to take. I commissioned something special to make Fish Extender gifts with about 6 months ago and just about gave up that they would make it in time. I have now been told that they were due to ship today. They come from the Netherlands so hopefully they should be here by this next week. It will only take me an hour or so to put the gift together and they are very lightweight so they will fit quite happily in the carry on.

The last prints that I ordered for the magnets have not arrived yet, but there are only 4 or 5 magnets that I still have to do and they will go in the carry on. Other than that I am pretty much set.

Well, the saga with the jewellery making kits just does not want to seem to end. Two of them came back today saying that the address was insufficient. I have PMed the people in question to let them know. I don’t know what they are on about as I used exactly the same address that I was given and they looked fine to me. At least they came back in a timely manner. I will just take the kits to the ship and make sure that they get to their owners there. Fortunately one package made it to Canada today. So that still leaves 4 packages that are still MIA, 2 that went to Canada and 2 that went to the USA. I am hoping that they either get to their destination or are at least returned to me very soon.

Today our local airport had its first A380 arriving. The airline that I work for now operates one of our two daily services between Manchester and Dubai with an A380. We had to drive past the airport to get to work and the roads were absolutely jammed. It took us over an hour to get to work. Normally it takes us between 25 and 30 minutes. I am normally never late, but today we were late. Still, at least I can say that it is our aircraft that made us late. To add insult to injury, we did not even see the aircraft land. Maybe we will have better luck tomorrow. We drive past the airport all week around the time that it is due to land.

I vote also for the internet!!

:welcome: I'm Stephanie and I'm traveling with my best friend Terry (tinker1bell) and we are your next door neighbors! We're celebrating turning 60. :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::dance3::dance3:

I couldn't possibly be more excited about going on this cruise. Two years in the planning, two more weeks of waiting! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

The only thing I could think of was maybe my own pillow, but I think I will get over it quickly. Maybe eating chocolate while laying on my DCL pillow will help:)

Thank goodness my Pal Mickey knows I drink the hard liquor!!!!! Tangrey and tonic!!! and various others...................................
okay lots!!! :lmao::lmao:

Had a gin overdose (;)) when I was 18 (and drinking was legal at 18 then), so ever since then those juniper berries and I don't get along :rotfl:. I do, however, love my Myer's (so now you know where the rum has gone :lmao:).

Welcome to the crew!

I think we had those bandanas last time we went to Pirate dinner. We don't bother now as I don't particularly like the menu, but will probably go this time with knowing so many people again. Great to see everyone dresed up.

We just got the triangle scarves last year.

I hope you get the :thumbsup2 to go!!! At least once onboard the Magic you can rest and really recover.

I am another one struggling to get to better health before the cruise. Looks like I will not be doing much at all!!!

R&R for everyone!

I hope your gallbladder behaves. I am still on a low fat diet after having mine out because the pancreas is still not right. I think I am going to have to be serious on this cruise with being so far from medical assistance in a real emergency. A low fat diet is not what you go on a cruise for!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: I also can't have alcohol, even in food, so that is a bit of a problem too. Our servers are going to be soooo happy with me.:lmao:

I'm sure they're used to dealing w/all sorts of dietary problems and I doubt yours is that unusual. At any rate, they'll deal w/it, no question.

Hi and welcome. Please don't feel you have to dress up to the nines for formal nights. Not everyone does.

We're not getting very formal; just can't get all that stuff in under our weight allowance (plus DH HATES suits).

Re the bumps and age thing, It would be so much more comfortable all round to be able to accept that!!!!

AMEN!

As my last official duty before we sail to worlds end (there be many unofficial duties yet to accomplish...:lmao::lmao:)
