For the new cruisers welcome aboard. I am Jon and my DW is Candida (Photographer Goofy). This will be our second Disney Cruise. We'll be joining our dear friends Bob and Lyn (Lyn9856) on the cruise. Looking forward to finally boarding the plane in Toronto in less than 5 days, 23 hours, 43 minutes to begin the adventure.

Can't wait to see everyone in less than 3 weeks

Welcome to the group. Make sure you are able to devote atleast 2 hours per day to reading the thread. The way this group "talks" they we go through several pages a day I we talk face to face as much as we type the ship is going to be very noisy

Yes they allow dining alone. Also they have a bar area I believe you can go and ask to dine at as well or maybe there are some people on here who are going you could team up with.

I have only been to dinner once and it was OK. Gonna go this time as its Dans first time so thought it would be nice. Brunch is nicer from what I remember but its been a long time since I've done this.

The food is good and the service excellent. In my opinion though the food in the restaurants are all good so I dunno whether its worth going out of rotation for it or not if you haven't had any of the food. We looked at the menus that were posted a few days ago and I'm glad we choose to go on Pirate Night as I think there aren't any mains I'd eat so can get something up there. Also being on late dining wed probably be too full for the buffet later on deck so this way we go at 6pm and get to do Palo & the buffet and only miss the one meal.

You can however go to Palo and the dining rotation in the same evening if you fancy it though it may be a lot of food lol. Just let your servers know the night before as they get told you are going to Palo so they wont be expecting you the next night. For example, if you are on Late dining then book a 6pm Palo and go to late dining at your normal time or if on early book Palo for 8pm etc. This would however mean you miss the show!

hmm thanks i would like to make sure i do all the restaurants so may just do the brunch in palo

Great calendar! But the dates for Torola and St. Maarten seem to be reversed -- I think we're in St. Maarten on September 28th (this is our wedding anniversary, so it's stuck in my head that we're in St. Maarten that day - LOL!), and then on the 29th, we're in Tortola.

Fixed! Nice thing about the calendar is that it can be updated on the fly and next time you check the page or open your calendar program it should sync up any new information.

Calling all people owning Sony Readers

I discovered something earlier on more or less by accident. It is actually possible to download the PDF file that PJpoohbear onto the reader. It is of course only in black and white, but that is one less thing that I have to print out. I am not sure if it would work with a Kindle as well, but I am really pleased with this discovery.

I am not sure if I have done it before, but I really want to say a big thank you to Sarah and Penny for all the hard work they put into this.

Great to know. I tried to make it an ePub, so one could change font size, it didn't work out so well and was really changed from Sarah's vision, so I went with just the .PDF version.

I have just spent 2 hours wandering around the market and shops in Napier. Damage to my wallet - $4 - geez I suck at shopping!

I bought a cute (junk) bangle and a pretty little card wallet. I'm now back in my hotel room eating my leftover Thai takeaways for lunch and wondering whether to read my trashy magazine or watch Sex and the City before chat... decisions, decisions

I AM ALIVE!!! WDW was not crowded today, but the monorail ride was from hell. We stopped between The Contemporary and the MK Park for one hour with no air!! They kept saying that the monorail in front of us had mechanical problems, but I am going to try googling and see if that is the truth or they had a medical emergency or something. It was unbelievable. If I was there for one day, I would have been upset. We got on the Monorail at 2:00 and did not make it back to Epcot till almost 3:30! It was exhausting and in the 90's today. Also, The Land was down, not working, Test Track fast pass line was not working and something else was down, but cannot think of it. I told the CM by the Land that every ride seems to have some kind of malfunction today. He said he has heard that quite a bit. Anyway, after the torrential rain, and the fabulous dinner in Mexico, we are now home. We had a fab time, but never made it to the MK.

Hope everyone is well and will catch up tomorrow. I had to write to all my dis friends on the boards thinking I might not make it out alive. By the way, the monorail was standing room only and no water!!!! Okay, I am done venting!

I can`t get my head around the money either. So we have 350 euros in cash for Barcelona, three nights there. We`ll use £`s in Gib. Don`t think we`ll need much in Madeira but we`ll keep a few euros back.
For the ship we`ve OBC and will use the card though I`ve $750 in TQ`s. I`ve also got $100 in $1 bills for bar and room service tips. I didn`t want a 100 but due to a slight mix up in M&S that`s what I got! Tortola and St Martaan are fine with $.
I don`t like to rely totally on CC`s as I`m always worried they are refused but we`ll be using those for certain.

Since we are sharing projected budgets, I am budgeting about the same as you for two which will be about 350 Euros in cash for meals, drinks and souvenirs for Barcelona. We have other tour expenses which some I have prepaid, some I have to pay which are only relevant to us. Hotels are prepaid and I have an extra 100 Euros budgeted for taxis because of locations of tours etc.

For Gibralter I prepaid the Skywalk so I am budgeting about 100 Euros to buy wine, some things at Morrisons Supermarket and souvenirs.

In Madeira, I prepaid Daniel taxi so I am budgeting 150 Euros for the two of us for meals, the toboggan, cable car, wine purchase, and tips. For the ship, I have prepaid in the same amount about $750.

For St. Maarten we have to pay and tip Bernard Tours, so we have budgeted about $100 to include souvenirs.

As for Tortola, we are just going to walk around and go to Pussers and the Soggy dollar so I budgeted about $50 to spend on drinks and maybe about $25 on souvenirs.
