I agree with both the chlorox wipes and the ziplock bags. We've been doing that for a while, although it didn't stop me from getting the norovirus at the end of the Baltic cruise!

I also bring our own disney mugs with lids for soda, water, coffee etc. They hold more and the ice doesn't melt so fast.

Thanks so much for reminding me to add travel mugs to my list. I usually can't find paper cups and tops for hot drinks on the buffet line. Makes bringing DH a cup difficult. We also pack condiments such as our favorite brand of artificial sweetner and we never go anywhere without a wine opener. val

Clearly, you are my cruising kindred spirit!

Too many people do not wash their hands (or wash them well enough).

We give DCL A+ for their hand cleaner insistence at the restuarants and throughout the ship. Not all cruiselines are that diligent.. Yet I have never heard or seen a guest refuse or complain about being reminded to use the stuff. Princess (who I give high marks for otherwise) isn't that good about keeping theirs full or insisting people use them. Have to wonder how much they make their staff do so. NCL - is a floating petrie dish of bacteria. val

Just read this on AOL. Whoever suggested packing a set of underwear on long flights inorder to freshen up - here is another reason to carry a spare.
"Passengers on a British Airways flight got quite a scare when a pre-recorded announcement that the plane was about to make an emergency water landing was mistakenly triggered.
The Sun newspaper reports the false alarm happened on a flight from London to Hong Kong. The plane, with 275 passengers onboard, was flying over the North Sea at the time.
"This is an emergency announcement," said the automated female voice. "We may shortly need to make an emergency landing on water."Michelle Lord, 32, says passengers prepared for the worst until crew ran through the plane saying it was a mistake.
"People were terrified. We all thought we were going to die," Lord says.
The carrier apologized to passengers for the "undue distress."
A British Airways spokesman tells Reuters the incident is under investigation to determine if it was caused by human error or a computer glitch." val

I feel the sameway. Planned a last minute trip to Tobermory for 10 people to do some diving for two days. Left at 5 am Monday morning, drove 5 hours, did 3 dives, slept for 5 hours, did 3 more dives, drove for 5 hours and back home at 8:30pm on Tuesday then back to work on Wednesday.

:banana:3 shifts for me:banana:

Hope everyone is doing well, I'll have to catch up at somepoint.

Jon
I take it you dont mean tobermory in isle of mull?

:scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1:
9 Days and counting:eek::eek:

You would think after 2 years of knowing this day may come I would be more organized ....out of 7 bags we will be checkin in only 2 are fully packed and ready and that doesnt even count me costume bag which is usually first to be packed ...(had to make adjustments after the 30 pound weightloss since the last time I wore it lol ) This is going to be a busy weekend and coming week ....

Its getting close

TAKE WHAT YOU CAN !!!!!!!

Stop showing off Capt:laughing:
Just curious, am I the only one that takes my own pillow? :magnify:One year, on a different ship, the pillows were gross, even under the pillow case. I couldn't sleep on it and called housekeeping. They agreed the pillows were terrible and took them to bring back clean ones. They didn't return and we had to sleep without any pillows. Since then, I take my own.
Too much wt for us but when I holiday in the uk I take my memory foam pillow with me:thumbsup2
I apologize in advance if this might have been posted before:

I know about the usual things to pack but some people bring not so common items that are useful and great like the over the door shoe organizers; highlighters to mark the Navigator; sticky note pads to leave notes for the cabin steward. What are other useful items that you bring?
Sorry I cant add anything, my brain frazzled.
that isn't wiped down and disinfected regularly.

I am not a normal germophobe, but I'm healthy as a horse at home usually, and about a week into the cruise, I always manage to come down with something. I love Disney cruises, because there is always a kid to press the elevator buttons for me (another thing I won't touch on a cruise ship!). :scared1:

Even better, just dont get in the elevator, :lmao: I hate it when someone starts coughing in there, lol
OK everyone I think the "Final" Version of the Navigator is ready. I can still update things like errors or people's room numbers but the main bulk of the writing should be accurate. Obviously we still don't have tasting dates but I think the rest is ready and Penny has done her magic to create the printable versions. She is working on the Digital version for those wanting that but below are the versions. One of them is if you have a printer that can do Duplux prints and two are for those people with single sided printing where you need to reload the paper once you do one side.

Duplux Dis Version

Non Duplux Odd Pages

Non Duplux Even Pages

Oh and again if people can't access them please pm me your email addy and Ill send you a copy
Thanks very much sarah, I will wait till nearer and print it out to take. Your a star, thankyou.

5 pounds voucher, you can buy a pair of socks in gibraler:lmao:
Sadly we don't know - DH purposely stayed away from the beer on this cruise to ensure he could get in his clothes for the next cruise - he says he may not be as diligent this time!

One time we were on a train in Paris to go back to London, and Patrick was about 10 or 11. Anyway, he got sick and threw up all over himself! :scared1:Of course, I didn't have a change of clothes, and our luggage was in the luggage car. The bag handlers let me sort through to find our suitcase so I could get him some clothes. That taught me a lesson that ANYBODY can have an accident, and be prepared.....like a Boy Scout!:banana::banana::banana:

Glad to hear that. We're having a car service drive us to the airport and our oldest daughter will pick us up on the way back, so no airport parking for us either (it turns out this way is cheaper than paying for two weeks' of parking).
Thanks for the reminder--I need to get this set up. No way am I paying to park at the airport for 2+ weeks.:scared1:

I wish I had room to pack my own pillow.....I just never have enough room! I'd like to bring my swedish foam shaped pillow because I sleep on my side. Oh, well, I'd rather bring my Pirate outfit than a pillow, if I have to make a decision!

In the 1960's we called them "hot pants".

Yes! and in the 60's I had the legs for them too!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Maybe you could cram it in using a space bag. Pillows are mostly air anyway. Then you could still sleep on :cloud9:. Or, just carry it on the plane so you can sleep more comfortably on the way over.

Congrats on the £5 voucher! As said better than nothing!

Oh and the camera thing is on the Medicine cabinet / Emergency supplies section I believe - although I haven't looked at it since I wrote it in!

OK well never mind! I think he had the right plan! I know if I did 2 cruises in such quick sussession I'd have issues lol!

Oh and thank you to everyone for the nice comments about the Navigator. I hope it helps people out there to keep track of things!

Dan,

Unfortunately, there is no bus service between the Barceloneta Metro and Barceloneta Beach where the W is located. It's almost exactly one mile from the hotel to the Metro (about a twenty minute walk for most). You may want to just take a taxi from the hotel right to Barcelona Placa Espanya for about 10-12 Euros.
Thanks for looking into it for me. I guess a taxi would be quickest!

OMG-----finally catching up! Haven't been on the boards at all since this past Saturday (MY BIRTHDAY!!!---8/21/74 like my screenname)......andyou guys are as chatty as ever.....

so a very general congrats to everyone who's gotten good news (like docs
Well...looking at the map of the ship, it looks like Jason and I are awfully close to the Deck 6 laundry room...although I doubt we qualify as celebrities....but I promise not to request they shut it down on this trip (unless of course they shut it down for my private use since I am bringing about a week's worth of clothes for a month-long vacation...so we will need to do laundry at least twice on the B2B...so if they'll close it and let me use it then all bets are off! :lmao:)

!

Hey Erik we share a birthday, except I was born 6 years earlier:thumbsup2

I guess I'll come knocking on your door while I'm waiting for laundry. :rolleyes1

I was at Boscov's the other day and something caught my eye. It was a set of buttons that you can use to extend the waist of your pants. I bought it thinking after 9 days, my clothes might not fit. :confused3 The best part is that it was only $1.99. What a deal. In case I lose weight, :rotfl: I can also use it to make the waist smaller.

Bev :)

Oh and for those people who have pre-ordered gifts through DCL - I just emailed to check they had received my fax and they hadn't so now gonna call!

I called our order in and they sent me a fax. If they won't send an international fax, tell them to send it to me and I will copy it for you in a PM. If this works for you, PM me, and I will give you my fax number.

Even if you have already ordered it, you could PM me the order info, and I could request a fax to confirm. I don't know if they email but I do know they fax confirmations
.

What time would you book a car to pick up from Port Canaveral? We are on late dining, so a later breakfast, but of course don't know the actual time till much later.
