The feedback form is something we've taken quite seriously in the past and have been more than happy to fill in - which we'd had them for our builders.Anyway, I only remember receiving 'the speech' once from the servers themselves and that was back in May 2008. On that trip I'd been a little underwhelmed and was in no mood to be trifled with so they got short shrift. I think the Head Server (John from Scotland?) gave it in August 2008 but he did in such a way that it wasn't annoying or obsequious at all. I really thought he and his team were excellent - I don't think he's on the Magic anymore... We always make a point of identifying CMs that have gone above and beyond - which is quite tough for me as I'm hopeless with names... Seriously, I keep a note of those who have made a difference so they're not forgotten...

We haven't had a really fantastic room host in all 5 cruises, though only one who we thought wasn't actually doing a good job. He was the only room host to mention the feedback and almost asked us to mention him by name, and he is actually the only room host we haven't mentioned!!! We had a sweet little Indian man on our last cruise. I think he was new and he was lovely. He is the only room host who has ever come back specially to thank us for our tip, and we have always given more than the recommended amount.
I always find the giving out of the tip envelopes a hugely embarrassing thing, I really do. It kind of spoils the final night's dinner waiting all 'secretly' with the envelopes for the appropriate time.
