Sounds good to me!!!:woohoo::woohoo:

:thumbsup2 We'll do it!
....That is my status on Facebook!...

It is?! Great minds, Amy! Great minds! Must be because we are both a ten four (10/4) good buddy!! :lmao:

....So I've been trying to find out more information about this stupid fuel suppliment charge....The supervisor... said sorry here's an email address for your gripe....

Feel free to pass along that email addy here. I also understand it's in the contract, so "sorry about my luck". However, like others, I'm with you on the HUGE disappointment. As far as I know (here comes my sarcasm), the fuel being put in that ship's tank is the same fuel that will be purchased for the passenger who booked with no fuel surcharge as it is for me and you, who booked back in October 2008. :headache:

Don't get me wrong. I'm not jealous of anyone who got theirs back or didn't pay. You were properly and fairly taken care of, which is awesome!! :cheer2:

The email address they gave me is simply the one to contact DCL on the website! Course I realized that after she went through spellling it out for me!

Again, I'm not wishing anyone have their good luck taken away! I think it's great that some people have gotten theirs' returned. :thumbsup2 Everyone should have it returned. I just think it's a really stupid policy - as you noted, they are not adding any additional or special fuel with the extra money we've paid. And it always bothers me when I see people in a group being treated unfairly. I hated bullies when I was in high school and always spoke up.

Of course, I'm totally jealous :upsidedow of those that also accidentaly got that letter for Med cruises. They freely admitted that they were sent in error and not all were caught before they were mailed. That was really just plain luck.

Well - thanks for letting me vent! I know that I'll put this behind me and enjoy the cruise. I simply want DCL to know.

Hello! I missed everyone - my dad is away for today so I am catching up. Only on page 125 so I am answering everything before that:

Sarah - I would LOVE to do the Scavenger Hunt. I sent you a PM but I don't know if you got it.

Corrina - the gown is just beautiful!!!

Kimberly - Daisy is totally adorable!!

Noel - I don't know if you have one but Steinmart has outfits that are very similar to the ones you posted. You might want to give them a try.

Terapin - I love your idea for the home school kids, but have no ideas right now what I would do. Your ideas are wonderful!

Missed everyone :grouphug:

Definitely print it out and take it - not sure that I would trust anything on this anymore.

So I've been trying to find out more information about this stupid fuel suppliment charge. I called DCL and after receiving the standard reply from the CM (who by the way was very nice) I asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor was very belligerent and said sorry here's an email address for your gripe. So I sent an email off and today received the standard reply again - policy blah blah blah. Seriously, do they not know that we talk??? :confused3

I'm actually considering sending an email repeatedly until I can get a better understanding as to why (besides policy) they (DCL) can morally or ethically charge a surcharge to some people and not all.

Can't beliieve it I TOO called DCL yesterday to question the Fuel policy!!! The cast member was also very nice, and I TOO requested a email to further voice my views. I TOO put together a mail and sent it i I TOO got a standard reply (i think it was directly copied from the terms and conditions)

Well the reply did nothing to address the direct questions i posed in my original email so, as their reply stated "please don't hesitate to contact us with any futher questions"

I did just that :)

I sent a second mail asking 3 very direct questions that will require someone to actually answer personally rather than copy/pasting from thier Terms and Conditions.

I'm no longer all that bothered about the money so much it's now the injustice of what appears to be an unfair system.

This is my first Disney Cruise and i hate that i'm focusing on this.

Thank goodness for the my fellow DISers, you've given me the confidence to challange this, knowing i'm not alone.

and,

Whether or not I get my fuel cost back I know that with all the fun things we've planned to do together, i'm going to have an really amazing trip.

Thank you all SO much

SW

I have never heard of Steinmart? Do they have stores in northern California?

Totally off topic but was just back from my daily 1 1/2 hour brisk walk. While walking I happened to hear a song I hadn't hear in years. Does anyone remember Cinnamon by Derek or Fire by The Crazy World of Arthur Brown?

Back to cruise plannng!!:cool1:

I agree with you - we have so many fun things planned and such a fantastic group of people that I'm so going to enjoy this trip regardless of what happens with the FS. As you said, it's really more the injustice that has me a bit out of sorts.

I'd love to hear what you hear from them when and if you hear from them!

Thanks for sharing - it's always comforting to know we are not alone.

DCL has everyone's cruise history -- "Dates, Cruise Departure (including number of nights), Ship, Stateroom, and Reservation Number." You can even check your past cruises on the DCL website.

It doesn't matter if you booked onboard, with a travel agent, or on the DCL website. It's all there.

Woody

I don't remember "Cinnamon" but I do remember "Fire"! I've got that one on my iPod.

I don't remember "Cinnamon" but I do remember "Fire"! I've got that one on my iPod.

Here are lyrics:

Sneakin down your alley way
And knockin' on your door
Thought I had enough
But I'm back for more
Cinnamon, let me in
Knock, knock, let me in
I won't go away
Oh, uh, uh
I'm gonna see ya
If it takes all day
Oh, uh uh
Cinnamon let me in
She la, la, la, la, la, la
La, la la, la, la, la
One potato, two potato
Three potato, four
Open up, Cinnamon
I want more
Five potato, six potato
Seven potato, eight
Give it to me, Cinnamon
I can't wait
You can't hide, girl
I'm comin' inside, girl
Do what you want to
Baby, I'll let you
Might as well face it
Cinnamon, you know I'm gonna get ya
She la, la, la, la, la, la
La, la la, la, la, la
She la, la, la, la, la, la

How about Love is All Around Us by the Troggs or Elenore by the Turtles?

Only a couple of pages, WOW, that must be a record low, and I just got myself all settled with a cuppa! I suppose I could do some ironing with all my extra time...........

The apes tend to like anything "shiny".....cameras, jewelry, sunglasses....etc
Good to know, i have a habit of putting my sunnies on my head, Would hate to lose them! :thumbsup2

Oh! So THAT is how! When my friends Peter and Christen got married last month, their wedding planner put a black and white picture of Mickey and Minnie on the gift table. It was also personalized with a congratulations comment. (There was also a congratulations card from the White House with President Obama and Michelle's signatures.)

Thanks for sharing, Hayley!

That's a reminder also for all our DCL newbies. You can bring something for character signatures along with Sharpies or fabric markers in a bag, drop it off at Guest Services, and it returns to your stateroom on the last night!

On my last cruise, I had photo mats signed by the Fab Five, each in a different color. My grandmother and mom were on that cruise with me, and they didn't know I had this done. For Christmas, I paired up one of their personal favorite pictures from our cruise with the signed mat, framed it, and it gave them as a gift. It was another magical reminder of our cruise months later. :goodvibes

Additionally, for my scrapbook, I cut clear transparency sheets into 4.5" x 6.5" pieces, put colored sheets of paper between them, hole-punched the upper left corner of each sheet, and put them all through a clasp ring like you find on a binder. It came back with over 15 different character signatures! Each has been great to put on top of a photo in the scrapbook, give the appearance of a scrapbook page being signed, or layered on top of a journaling box.

If you're new to this idea, another popular item for signatures are pillow cases. If you sneak it to Guest Services, it's really a nice surprise for the kiddos to get back from dinner on their last night and find that the characters left them a gift behind. Just remember to label each item you leave them with your cabin number in case it gets separated from the bag/envelope you have it placed in.

I am glad I could share something!
Your presents to your family were so thoughtful of you, I get that vibe from you, You are very always thinking of others. :goodvibes
You really should send away for one for your scrapbook! :thumbsup2
I have 1 photo mat and a pillowcase for each of my girls (embroidered with their names and favourite characters, from Gradysmommy, ebay). ;)

I have a delima - and no, it doesn't involve t shirts or FE's...

Just read on the main board that they now have cameras at all of the check in terminals. Since we wouldn't go through the standard line (suite line) I need to know how to keep the upgrade a secret from the kids...

Any ideas?

Sue

Would love to help, but don't know the process myself, Can we distract them? :confused3

That is so neat! When I worked at WDW, I worked with the characters and I bought a Disney story book and had the characters autograph by their picture in their story. It was so much fun...granted, I didn't have to wait in line for it and I got some rare signatures too...:thumbsup2
That is a fantastic keepsake, pass that one on to your children one day! :thumbsup2

I'm actually considering sending an email repeatedly until I can get a better understanding as to why (besides policy) they (DCL) can morally or ethically charge a surcharge to some people and not all.

Maybe your persistence will pay off, Good Luck!

I don't think we paid the FS, I'm not sure, but it makes me so angry regardless, How can Disney be so blatantly unfair on this?:confused3

Welcome back! We didn't chat too much :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Steamboat Will - I thought I pushed your button, obviously not. As stated above the FS thing sucks, be persistent and Good Luck! :thumbsup2

What a bummer that all but one store which is in Rocklin (near Sacramento) are over 400 miles away in Southern California. Too bad I didn't post the picture earlier when I was in LA a few weeks ago.

Rocklin is about 150 miles from here. They looks like great stores.

I have never heard of Steinmart? Do they have stores in northern California?

I haven't run across any in a long time. There used to be one in the East Bay but it closed a while back. Steinmart is like an upscale Ross or TJ Maxx.

How do you see it? I have a terrible time navigating their web site.:headache:

Its in the Castaway Club area. On the left it tells you what level you are and how many cruises you have taken. It then gives a link to "View My Cruises". It has your past and upcoming cruises listed.

I will have had 50 nights onboard before I become gold.

I am working on my budget for the cruise and was hoping someone might be able to help, as the canned email response from Disney to my question did not answer my question. For those of you who did the EBTA or did a TA last time - do you recall if they stop charging the VAT tax when we get out into the Atlantic (i.e. Spa, Beverages, etc)? Also, are the Shore Excursion (in Europe) prices posted inclusive of the VAT?

Thanks!

I don't remember any added charges. I do remember passively thinking about VAT but then didn't buy much to bring home so I didn't dwell on it. Never had anyone bring it up.

WOW!! I will have to sail at least once more cruise before we are gold. I should do the two day repositioning!!

Looking to confirm the final 4 Pineapples!!
  1. NoWorriesMate
  2. Acourtwdw
  3. Maxs GM
  4. PeterPanStout
Also - Tru - can you conform the addition of 'R'?

If you guys can all confirm I would appreciate it!

Thanks,
Sue

Acourtwdw (Amanda & Annette) still doing the FE.
If the port at Barcelona is like Port Canaveral, you check in, then there is a different line for the id picture. So your kids wouldn't need to be at the check in counter with you.

Well, the past couple of weeks has been busy. Which in my line of work isn't a good thing:sad2:. Finally, got caught up with the thread. Well, I'll admit I skipped pages 67 to 111, hope there was nothing important. :goodvibes
Jon

HA!! Everything we say is important!! :rotfl2::laughing:

We have one of those as well! "Chip and Dale" ;) got it autographed for me. :lovestruc It took several months to get all the signatures. The first page of each story is signed by all the characters in the story. I even have Lady and Tramp's footprints! My favorite souvineer of all time!
