Thanks Woody, I think you have a valid point.

I can appreciate your concerns about prepaying for a tour. May I respectfully point out you are speaking about a tour in Mexico versus one in Europe. Also, I assume you used a credit card and not Paypal.
I wish I paid by credit card -- that way I could have disputed the charge with my credit card company. One big headache, despite their favorable reviews on Cruise Critic.

Yes, it was for a tour in Mexico. But it happens in Europe too. Last month, friends with whom we cruised had prepaid a hotel room in Europe. When they arrived, they were told the hotel was overbooked and had no rooms left.

By prepaying on Paypal, I avoid any fees as money is coming directly from my checking account.

Doesn't PayPal charge for currency conversion?

YMMV.

Yes, I am referring to Daniel's Taxi in Madeira. I was told by DCL that we will dock at 6:00 Am, be cleared for disembarking by 7:30 and depart by 6:00 PM. So I am assuming we need to be back on board by 5:30 PM????

Wait, back on board by 5:30pm? That's cutting it close after a 4:30 tour at Blandy's, especially after tasting!

I am not going to put any more titles on threads!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I did put wrong title on the thread but I was speaking of Madeira. I am going to call DCL back as I think I was given wrong info for Madeira and want to be sure. While I have them on the phone, I am going to ask about Gibraltar.

Stay tuned.

Noel

:rotfl2: It happens to the best of us, Noel!

Arrival/Disembark On Board/Departure

Barcelona 4:00/9:31
Gibraltar 6:00/8:00 5:30/6:00
Madeira 6:00/8:30 8:00/9:30
St Maarten 6:00/8:30 5:00/6:00
Tortola 6:00/8:30 2:30/3:45
Castaway Cay 10:00/11:30 3:30/4:00
Port Canaveral 5:00/8:30AM

Straight from DCL. Hope this helps clarify. We sure have a short time in Castaway Cay. I think I may just snorkel and go lay on the beach.

This is why I doubt the fact that we will be having formal night on a port day, esp. the first one!

I was planning to wear the new evening gown on the first formal night, but if it really is on a port day, I will wear my other evening gown as I can changed into this within a couple of minutes.

I don't even pay a fee when I send payment via Paypal, but when I receive money there is a fee. So I guess with the Personal Transfer, the fee is added on to us instead of the recipient?

Thanks for the info on the drinking age. I don't think anyone would believe me if I tried to say he was not older than 16, so no issue with him being there. Heck, he might even get a taste out of it. Or better yet, they can pour for him, but I get the tastes!!

The dress is stunning. My friend had one custom made in China for the PC cruise. I'm considering it, but want to see if I can lose a few more inches before cruising. Do you know how long they require to make and ship?

The thing is that my Paypal account is funded by my checking account so there should not be any fees.

As to the dress, I paid for it on May 10th, sent the measurements on May 13th and received it yesterday so it took just over a month. They say that it takes about 35 to 40 days.

I should look at that more closely. I will let you know.

There have been a few changes since we booked, but hopefully they are keeping the DCL site updated.

Thank you!

Geez...Tortola and St. Maarten both got cut short on the front end from what they have been publishing. That stinks!

To answer Woody's question about fees on Paypal, I paid $1.265 per Euro and did not have a service charge charged to my account.

I should look at that more closely. I will let you know.
Noel, the last time I used PayPal for an international payment, the fees were:
  • A "cross border" fee of 1.0% for payments received from senders in another country.
  • A 2.5% fee for payments requiring currency conversion.
Also, I didn't think you could send a "Personal" transfer when paying for goods or services.

I haven't looked at PayPal's fees in months. Perhaps they changed.

YMMV.

I love Chip and Dale, so much i want everything they sell. I have a room whit all my stuff off Chip and Dale and my thimbles.

I LOVE Chip and Dale! I really starting liking them when I worked at WDW - they could always get into so much trouble and get away with it! LOL!

I'm bummed about the fuel charge...we could really have used that extra OBC. I love Disney, but this is one thing that I think is very unfair. :(

Wow...only 3 months from today! That's exciting! :)

I had been trying to decide whether to snorkel on Tortola or St Marteen. Looks like I'll go for a DCL snorkel excursion on Tortola because of the limited time. Gee, I guess I should have been paying attention to the port times when trying to figure out what I wanted to do.

But then again I've been trying to figure out if I was even going to sail. And now that is in jeopardy again. DS is at a Six Flags park today and called earlier to say he lost one of his hearing aids on a roller coaster. There goes my cruise money if I have to replace it. Wonder if my homeowners insurance will cover it? I've had good luck with Disney lost and found. Let's hope Six Flags is just as effective. He knows exactly where he lost it. He felt it go and almost caught it. So hopefully they will truly do a sweep of the ground under the coaster like they said they would.

Oh no! That isn't good! I hope they do what they promise and hopefully they will find it. I'll keep my fingers crossed!

I hope that it will be found and returned to your son.

Pixiedust: to your son finding the hearing aid. I have had good luck finding lost things that I thought were irretrievably lost. Hope you have the same.

I found an earing I lost on the floor of a Nordstrom's dressing room three hours after I left the store. I also called and had prescription sunglasses that dropped out of my purse returned at the Las Vegas convention center.

I would be on the phone to the security people at Six Flags constantly asking them to keep checking!!

Just my thoughts...

Okay, I'm going to stop PMing folks and just ask. Back a ton of pages ago someone asked about arriving in Barcelone and doing the taxi tour that Kimberley posted.

Terry and I are arriving on Friday at 8:30 am and would love to share the taxi tour with someone. I keep pming people embarassing myself asking if they are the ones that asked for other people to share the tour. I don't know if they have 6 already or not. Somebody help me and put me out of my misery.:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

Thanks!

pixiedust:pixiedust:For Trevoy and you too Monica:)

Thanks!

I know that "Walt & Di" were interested in joining us on Thursday, but we got news back from Sharon at the tour company saying that there's only room for 12, and we have 11, so adding two more would be over capacity. In case Walt isn't able to keep up on the boards, know he's interested. Perhaps Friday would be okay with them. :confused3

I'm pretty sure there was someone else, too, but I can't recall who it was either.
