Regarding the Mickey shirts. I think it would be fun to plan our own Club night.

I actually made my shirts last time. One of our cruisers found a high resolution file of the logo which I printed onto transfer paper and ironed onto my shirt.

Todd purchased his shirts from Zazzle.com (not Disneystore, they didn't have them back then). The zazzle ones are cool because you can choose the placement of the logo and put it higher or lower on the front and you control the placement and font of the name on your back.

I think it would be fun, too!

Looks like Zazzle is comparable in price, but they have shipping charges...yet...it appears today only they have a Father's Day special for $4 off! Very nice to have options.

Just wanted to note that DisneyShopping.com's MM Club shirts also allow you to move the logo and personalized text as well. In fact, you can even choose what font you desire!

So, since I can't air out in another forum, I have a pickle of a situation that I don't know how to handle. Maybe someone far wiser than I can make me see the light.

I have a niece and nephew that as soon as they come into my house will go up and down opening my shutters and or opening the refrigerator and looking and then they go and ask mom for whatever I have. Let me state - I don't mind sharing anything I have, my problem is that they come in opening up my drawers and then run to their mom and ask if they can have this. Yesterday for instance, I caught my niece in the kitchen opening and moving my fridge magnets. I asked her not to do that. I even asked her not to open the fridge, to go and find something to do. (We were holding a Relay For Life Meeting). She is 5 yrs old and is advanced for her age. She ignored me and while I was playing hostess, she went and asked her mom if she could have a string cheese. These are special ones that are in the back of the bottom drawer underneath something so they are not in plain sight. I heard this and before I could answer, her mom said - did you open the fridge by yourself or did April (my DD) do it? Her answer was: I did it - I was hungry and wanted something to eat. Her mom told her she could and I was a bit put off by this. So I told her, No, I asked you NOT to do that - this is my house and I have different rules and if she could not listen to my rules, she would not be allowed into my house like her brother was banned for 2 months for stealing (granted it was only $0.50) but stealing is stealing.

My friends and family are split. SIL says that she does it all the time at grandma's house and made it seem as if this was ok but this is my house. Was or is it just me? Did I overreact? I ended up giving the string cheese to her but I wasn't happy about it. Right after, my niece was happy for about 3 minutes and then went off in search of my cabinets. :headache: I am wondering what kind of grandparent I am going to be and if I overreacted? Am I just an obsessed, crazy adult that doesn't like kids? I will be the first to help someone out but when it comes to nieces and nephews, I can't get them to listen to me AT MY OWN HOUSE. Hence, the reason I suspect that I hardly invite family over. If I react this way to toddlers now, what will I be like when my own grandchildren come? Should I lower my standards? I felt a bit justified later when my youngest told me I shouldn't have given in but April's known to not get along with little girls - guess its an Aries thing. :rotfl: Anyway, it still bothers me today and since I can't post it elsewhere (mom is a friend) had to air out here. Someone tell me that I'm not being a neurotic or that I'm justified or at least convince me that I need to loosen up and go with the flow......am I

You are not at all crazy .... your sister should make sure that her kids respect your boundaries in your home and it is all about manners ... I would be mortified if my kids had ever gone rummaging in other people's cupboards and refrigerator without permission. I think you need to have a quiet word with your sister.

Well i had my MRI today. Did not get the results yet. That had to be the most pain this I have did in a while. Had to lay on my back with my arm above my head for the 40 minute i was in the machine. They had my arm in a harness that i could not move it. By the end of the MRI I was in a tons of pain i was in tears. They had to help me out of the room. After that i had to sit in the room for 20 min until the pain went down. I hope i never have to that again. I hope the result show i don't need surgery. I let you guys know as so as i do.

Stephen

So sorry to hear about your experience, it really sounds terribly painful and I hope things start to improve soon :hug:

Ah we went to a new thread over night without me realising:

Belle1997 - Mickey bars are just yummy. I think its the Dove Chocolate that encases the ice cream!

TotallyAngelic - Im hoping for a Masque ball or something like that

Birkner - The hotel does indeed have a shuttle (Renaissance) from the airport. Also for 11Euros they have a shuttle to the port which were doing rather than a taxi. I have the email addy at home so will try to get you later.

DolphinGirl47 - See now I had completely forgotten that I am in your group over there! DUHHHHHH!!! I'm an idiot Corinna youll have to forgive me!

Alexandmaddie - OK I need to spell check and reread posts lol! Snack Bites! I love it!

Su_Kraft - Even more confused with this as DCL told me differently yesterday! - shown in blue:

Formal Night:
Night 3 – Gibraltar Night 2 - At Sea
Night 8 – At Sea Night 7 - At Sea

Semi-Formal Night:
Night 13 – At Sea Night 13 - Hey they agree on this one

Pirate Night:
Night 9 – At Sea Night 11 - St Maarten

Theme Night:
Night 7 – At Sea Night 8 - At Sea

Oh now I don't know what date to go with the Palo booking, night 11 or night 9?

Hoagie Pie - Yep I got the same as you! Very odd

Got2travel - On St Maarten day mind we have to be back on the boat at 5 so there is some time to get ready then

I wish they would confirm these dates one way or another as it is so confusing .... I really want to book Palo on the evening when we are rotational in Lumieres, as that was the least appealing menu last time ..... I don' really have a clue though which night that will be, so I will just have to guess it really and then try and change it once we are on board :confused3:confused3

To be honest I can see both sides. I don't think its right and I think that they should be tought to respect other people's things. Just because its OK in one place doesn't make it OK everywhere though and children should be taught that. I would talk to her and explain it all again, just saying that this is how it works in your house and that whether or not her child does it elsewhere doesn't make it acceptable. I don't see why anyone would not think that was OK?

I guess this is what well have to go through! All of us will be changing things lol Maybe if 2 of us may want the same nights we can do a swapsie onboard.

If anyone wants to swap a night at sea (night 9) for St Maarten night depending on when Pirate night is, I want ours on Pirate night! We are going for a 6pm slot probably - or as early as possible.

Your house, your rules. My grandkids wouldn't go in my fridge or cupboards. To be honest I don't think their parents would allow that in any home but their own.

Having said that, a bit of a funny! My daughter and family(4 children, then all under 9:eek:) went to our son's house where they had just had a baby. My daughter's second son, then aged 7, and a bit of a live wire but loveable(still is) was allowed to film with our son's camcorder. Off he went while everyone chatted and cuddled baby. When he showed what he had filmed, there were views all over the house inside of drawers(including our DIL's underwear drawer) he had opened, and a view down their ensuite toilet!!!! He was told off strongly, but of course we all had a huge laugh!!!

Mmmm, perhaps I should now go back and edit my first paragraph and say all my grandkids but one!!!!:rolleyes1

Hi, :wave2:

We're checking in. Looking forward to a great time on the cruise.

Hi and welcome.

At the risk of being asked to walk the plank...I am not happy with the change in themes at dinner. No offense to you pirate lovers out there, but now they have moved pirate night to my birthday.:sad2:

I was hoping for a semi or formal night.

I guess on a good note I will at least have fireworks.

Just my thoughts

Don't worry just yet, it will probably change a few times!!!!!

Oh I am so sorry. That is so bad. I hope it settles down for you very soon.

I'm reviving the conversation regarding the new t-shirt idea that I believe Todd brought up at the end of Chapter 5.

I think this would be awesome to see several people wearing the same design one night just as they'll see many of us with our matching embarkation shirts. The impact in the dining room, Studio Sea, The Stack, and Beat Street would be exciting to me.

I noticed that in addition to the Mickey Mouse Club shirt (which I LOVE), they also have Steamboat Willie that of course would be very cool for a picture in the lobby! (Also, I didn't realize they have a font called "Guest Check" that is nearly identical to DCL's font.)

So the question is are there enough of us to make it worth buying to go matchy-matchy? Can our friends outside of the US purchase online at www.DisneyShopping.com? If there aren't enough of us interested, obviously the impact isn't there, thus not really worth coordinating.

Thoughts? :confused3

PS: They currently have a promo for free shipping of your entire order if you purchase adult clothing or accessories. Promo Code = KIDatHEART. I also use MrRebates.com to get a rebate on many of my purchases, including DisneyShopping.

Oh Stephen. How awful. :sad2: I'm so sorry, and I certainly hope you don't have to have surgery, but if that's what it takes to get you back to normal, then in some regard, it will be a relief to know.

I can't get on the US site at all. It keeps defaulting to the UK site.

Just had a look at Zazzle and I can get on there no problem. Just need to make sure that they ship to the UK if we decide to go ahead.

O.K., I admit that I'm not the most computer literate person, but I can't figure out how to PM to sign-up for activities. Can anyone "show me the way?" Thank you so much!

Erik, have you seen 10" mickey rice crispy at the Main street Bakery?

Pj

Yes I have seen those....I've never actually gotten on, though, because I have poor impulse control and would probably eat the whole thing in one sitting and then feel like someone ran me over with a truck because I would be so stuffed!:rotfl2: Besides in those candy shops I'm typically too attracted to the chocolate dipped pretzel rods which are also a particular favorite of mine! :thumbsup2

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:That would be me!!!!! I love the 'ran me over with a truck' part - just what it feels like!!! Having said that though, we did find the sandal shaped ones given in the Castaway Club gifts to be very sickly, and that is saying something coming from me!!:lmao:

I have never had a pretzel rod. Are they sweet too? Normal little pretzels are salty, so I think this has put me off somewhat.

We always call in to Ghiradelli's at DTD a couple of times each time we go there, and that turned out to be every day for 12 days last time as we walk from SSR!!! I think one time they began to recognise John!!!:rotfl: Also we found out last time that they have fudge samples at Goofy's Candy Co, so we had to pop there too.:rolleyes1

Away for one day and you get onto Part 6! :woohoo:

Just off to have a quick :rotfl2: catch up.......what a glorious day here!:woohoo:

I went to bed last night on page 3. I get up this morning...page 6:eek:

We are a chatty bunch sometimes. I guess it helps that we are international and we are chatting 24/7.

Monica, nice to see you are definately going to join us. Thanks for the tshirt link

Off to work. Will check in on my lunch break (or sooner, work permitting);)

:cool1: Three months to go before the start of our vacation. :cool1:

Now to bring back the trivia questions. The last questions that I asked were:

#1What musical instrument does Mickey Mouse use a cow’s udder as, in Steamboat Willie?

Answer: Well, according to Trivia Pursuit it is Bagpipes. However, after getting a couple different answers I watched the movie. I couldn't find the scen of Mickey playing "bagpipes" on a cow's udder. He does play a "keyboard" on the cows teeth, and "bagpipes" on a nursing pig.

It's bad enough that you can't believe everything on the internet (sorry for spoiling this for some people :lmao:) but know you can't trust Trivia Pursuit.

#2 What percent of Walt Disney Productions did Walt Disney and his wife own before going public – 60, 80, or 100?

Answer: This one is correct, no arguement. The answer is 60.

New questions:
#1 Which of the Seven Dwarfs has the biggest nose?

#2 What kind of cheese does Mickey Mouse eat in the castle, in Mickey and the Beanstalk?

Please PM answers.

Jon
