Yes, I'll start collecting names.

We need to decide on a date and time. The original concept was for Friday the 17th, since many of us won't be arriving in Barcelona until that morning. We need to deconflict with Lynne's (I hope I have that right) soirée. We could go for an afternoon gathering (tapas?) or a late evening get-together, although the jet lag monster may reach out and grab those of us coming across the pond! Alternatively, we could move it to the 16th for those who will be in town.

It's open for discussion!!! Input, please!

We are game for either date. I sure hope someone will start making a mini navigator of all of these pre and during cruise plans. I am getting confused as to what is when or where??
??

On my last business trip to Australia, my wife and I stayed for about two weeks in Brisbane. It's our favorite city in Australia! Beautiful area, warm & friendly people, clean city, great weather. Couldn't ask for much more.
If you love Brisbane, you would adore the Gold Coast! Put it on your bucket list!

Also, just wanted to let everyone know that we aren't total snobs not coming to any of the meets. We just have young kids with us, we'll be in transit for 32 hours to get to Barcelona, and I don't know what kind of mood they'll be in when we arrive. They may have grown horns by then :scared1:

Lynne,

"Yes, but please dont worry, if we would rather do the hrc I would NOT be upset, otherwise I can do earlier or not at all, I can have a party all on my own."

Did you have a time in mind?

I can picture one gathering early afternoon as a break from sightseeing and another in the early evening before everybody sacks out for the night.

Michael

ARRG, I have been trying to book our flight on Southwest and it will only let me book March and April. Anyone else having this problem? AirTran has great prices to Boston and from Orlando, but I wanted to see if Southwest was better.

I love the idea of meeting for Tapas. Let me check and see when our tour is and if there is no conflict, there would be 6 adults.

I went back through the boards and came up with the following people expressing an interest. Naturally, this is tentative until we decide when (if) we're going to do it.

mdwoodman (2) – 17th
birkner (2) - either
KermitRocks
pjpoohbear
Terapin – 17th?
TotallyAngellic (2) – 16th
MrsMork
nacho1337 – 17th
1DisneyQueen (6) - 17th

Can you add us to the list. Not sure of our plans yet but we'd like to make it if time permits.

I had to use the ding link in order to see any dates after August. :)

I am wondering if anyone else is leaving their kids at home for this cruise? Our three will be at home with Grandpa and Grandma. It will be so odd not to have them with us and it's already starting to make me feel sad.

Just curious if anyone else is in the same boat (literally)? :confused3

Krista

We are too. All our kids are staying home with their kids!!!:lmao::lmao:

Ann:banana:

Now that Ive read thru all the posts, you bunch of talkers:lmao:

Dont worry! Its all going in the navigator I promise lol! Just need to firm up dates for things and it will all be in there.

I understand what you are going through. I found out two weeks ago that I have a growth on my pancreas and had an MRI on Friday. I am still waiting for the results. The doctors have told me they think it is from passing gall stones a couple of years ago before I had the gall bladder removed. I hope they are right and it isn't anything more serious. Good luck to you. My gall bladder surgery was the easiest I have had and I was back to work in 10 days.

It was acute pancreatitis that began all this, so the cause being my gallbladder would be good, as it could be whipped out, and I know these days it is a better op, and a much speedier recovery. I didn't think they would bother doing an MRI though, but just do the op after query seeing stones on the ultrasound. I guess it wasn't obvious enough though.:confused3

I hope all goes well for you too. These little gall stones are pretty sneaky customers!

Well the MRI went well and I was fine. 30 minutes in the scanner and the worst part was holding my breath for some of the longer scans!! Not sure if I will hear anything before my April 28th appointment, but I guess that would be good news!!! :lmao:Just wish I could rush things on a bit though.

Sorry Lynne, that's our 15 year anniversary. besides, after 2 weeks on the ship I don't know if I'll be able to walk 5k without a drink. Hmm, can we take a couple of Konk Koolers with us?:rotfl2:

I had a rather interesting day, the horse dentist came and gave them a dental, it is amazing, the horses are so trusting, he puts a huge metal gag into mouth, then racks it open then goes at the teeth with a huge rasp.
then he cleans up all the tarter and stuff.then they rinse out with special stuff. They are very well behaved nags though, I am a kinda no nonsense horse owner, well actually just person:thumbsup2

Now I am at work, with my little inmates:sick:

Only 2 pms for castaway cay 5k...

come on guys, :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Let's hope it doesn't take a month for you to find out.

Thanks to the Marine Corps, I traveled to (in no particular order!) Mexico, Canada, UK, Spain, Italy, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Wake Island, and the Philippines - not to mention almost all 50 States.

Australia actually came after I "retired." I got into modeling and simulation for military training and I had a couple of meetings with a software developer, once in Canberra and once in Adelaide and Sydney. Later, I was named as Chair for a NATO Committee. Besides my third trip to Australia (Brisbane), I've added New Zealand, Fiji, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, France, Belgium, and Sweden to the tally. No, Australia isn't in NATO but they are an invited partner, so we decided to have one of our meetings there!

I'm still doing the modeling and simulation for training bit, only as a civilian for the Marine Corps now.
Whaw, I love to travel, that sure beats me hands down!

I was thinking 4is, but tobh, I think most folks couldnt be bothered with 2 meets in one day, just you go ahead and arrange whatever and include me in anytime/date that wins! After it is all orginized I will pick a time nearer to leaving and if folks cant make it to hard rock then they could come by for drinks and nibbles.:thumbsup2

I think DH would be interested in this normally but with us being on CC for such a short time on this cruise I think he has decided to just go with me for a bike ride. We could always chase you all on our bikes :rotfl:

I am pleased that you din't find the MRI too traumatic  I hope you get your results back asap so you can organise yourselves. Did you tell them about your cruise and needing to know the reults as soon as ?

Lynne -could you not have your drinks party on the 16th if everyone is going to the HRC on the 17th ( I am getting very confused). I will be happy to go with whatever is decided. So long as we all get to meet up that is what is important :hug:
