So people can find information about the various things going on onboard I have updated Post 7 on the thread with a link to the most relevant post regarding them. Hopefully this will help me keep track of what people have agreed to help organise. Most of the things on there just need someone to collate names mainly and decide on a date (no biggy really).
What we still need is:
- Someone to decide on a date and take numbers for a PJ breakfast. That person may or maynot want to contact DCL to ask for a photographer to come along at a specified time too but this doesn't have to be organised.

- Someone to collate numbers and decide on the days for ladies lunch at Parrot Cay and Mens lunch at Parrot Cay. May be an idea to contact DCL and just let them know the numbers nearer the date in preparation for arranging tables etc.

- Someone to volunteer and arrange the Ice Cream eating Competition

GismoSarah,
This is great, how do we go about organizing events with Disney?

How about setting up excursions together? If someone has an idea, Maybe we could try to get a group rate at some of the destinations?
I know I would like to go out to Mahalo beach in St Maarten and maybe even a tour of the island.

Just ideas, I'll have to research some more...:surfweb:

Now, I hated being 30, didn't mind being 40 or 50, but I did NOT like being 60 one bit!!! I have now decided to forget birthdays!!!:rotfl2:

So, we will be celebrating your 40th on the PC cruise then???:banana::banana:
OMG, you/we sure will be baby!!!!
Looks like you're only a couple of blocks away from my Hotel, the W.

Sounds like some drinks are in order!
Please,please come!!!!

Well I officially turned 30 last friday and I don't know anyone else who didn't have a break down when they did. For me I didn't really care. I think 40 is when it will hit me!
argh, 30, I wish!
LOL . . .Because of my position in my job at 25, everyone thought I was 30 anyway . . .so when I turned 30 it was no big deal. Turning 40 made me think, but I'm blessed that when I turned 40, my little sister turned 20, my dad turned 60 and my grandfather turned 80. Turning 40 has nothing on turning 80!!! AND there is no way I ever wanted to be 20 again . . .gads. So now, I"m enjoying being 40+ and know that it just gets better (and different) from here . . . Isn't 40 the new 30 anyway ?
Yes, it sure is!

What we still need is:
- Someone to organise times etc for the Hard Rock Cafe meet in Barcelona pre cruise

- Someone to volunteer to take people around on the room tour - I don't mind sorting out maps etc but cant really commit to taking people around again

- People to volunteer their rooms for people to see (diff categories are always good or unusual arrangements etc)

- Someone to decide on a date and take numbers for a PJ breakfast. That person may or maynot want to contact DCL to ask for a photographer to come along at a specified time too but this doesn't have to be organised.

- Someone to organise a scrapbooking class

- Someone to organise a Scavenger hunt. This can easily be included in the Navigator if people want or sent out before the cruise for people to return the items/answers to a specific room and leave them with identification (in a bag if they are items) in someones fish extender so just really a point of contact). Also after they have all been handed in - a date will need to be set for this - someone can let the winner know by leaving a message/card at their room.

- Any more people who would like to judge &/ donate a prize for the fish extender competition. Those people who already volunteered will need to arrange a day to do the judging on or by so they can work out a winner between them.

- Someone to organise the beer and or martini tastings and arrange these with DCL. Also collate numbers.

- Someone to volunteer to have a bag outside their room for a book exchange. We did this last time as my sisters a big reader but as she doesn't have a cabin number yet and isn't sure shes taking any books (going electronic I think this time) she thought someone else might want to do this.

Exactly! When I reach 40 Im sure 50 will be the new 40 anyway lol
so me and Len are up for anything, Len is already talikng about buying PJS, without holes:lmao:

So sorry you experienced all of this. That is alot of losses in a short time.:grouphug:

What a handsome guy!!

We will do tea, but Dennis enjoys it too so I won't be doing a ladies only. Gotta be with my guy. :lovestruc

I officially turned 60 last week and I have to say...it's all just numbers. What matters is how you feel. :thumbsup2
It is just numebers, numbers mean nothing, trust me.Cant you do both you romantic?
The latest discussion seems to hinge on birthdays. Here is a quote from George Carlin:

Do you realize that the only time in our lives when we like to get old is when we're kids? If you're less than 10 years old, you're so excited
about aging that you think in fractions. "How old are you?" "I'm four and a half!"

You're never thirty-six and a half. You're four and a half, going on
five! That's the key. You get into your teens, now they can't hold you back. You jump to the next number, or even a few ahead. "How old are you?" "I'm gonna be 16!" You could be 13, but hey, you're gonna be 16!

And then the greatest day of your life . . . you become 21. Even the
words sound like a ceremony . . . YOU BECOME 21. . . YEAS!!!

But then you turn 30. Oooohh, what happened there? Makes you sound like bad milk. He TURNED, we had to throw him out. There's no fun now, you're just a sour-dumpling. What's wrong? What's changed?

You BECOME 21, you TURN 30, then you're PUSHING 40.

Whoa! Put on the brakes, it's all slipping away. Before you know it, you REACH 50 . . . and your dreams are gone.

But wait!!! You MAKE it to 60. You didn't think you would!

So you BECOME 21, TURN 30, PUSH 40, REACH 50 and MAKE it to 60.

You've built up so much speed that you HIT 70! After that it's a
day-by-day thing; you HIT Wednesday! You get into your 80s and every day is a complete cycle; you HIT lunch; you TURN 4:30; you REACH bedtime.

And it doesn't end there. Into the 90s, you start going backwards; "I was JUST 92." Then a strange thing happens. If you make it over 100, you become a little kid again. "I'm 100 and a half!"

May you all make it to a healthy 100 and a half!!

:goodvibes
Jon

TOO true Jon, we bought our house from an old lady that went into a nursing home, to cut a very very long story short we went to her 100th birthday party at a nursing home, I asked her if she enjoyed it she said " oh yes, it was good, but really, I dont want as much fuss for nextyear" :hippie: respect, she never made the next year or her 50 year old daughter, life is so fragile, we got to live for the minute NO matter what age we are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll be celebrating my birthday on 4th October:banana:, I'm sure I can manage an early drink or two whilst on the Magic!

Sarah:rotfl2:

That is my birthday too! Actually, that is my birthday, my twin's birthday as well as my mom's birthday too!

Thanks everyone for their kind words. This just sucks after my daughter experiencing her fourth miscarriage, me losing my job and then this. Just kick me in the stomach one or two more times. :sad1::sad2:

They always say when it rains, it pours... I am so sorry for your loss.

Well I officially turned 30 last friday and I don't know anyone else who didn't have a break down when they did. For me I didn't really care. I think 40 is when it will hit me!

When I turned 30 I was perfectly fine...granted I was getting married in less than two weeks so I had A LOT of things on my mind! LOL!!!

It was a rainy weekend in my part of PA. I mean, lots and lots of rain and wind. Can't imagine if it would have been a snow storm! My parent's lost power for almost 24 hours. My mom, sister and I played Yahtzee by candle light on Saturday night. It was interesting!

Welcome to all of the new cruisers!!!!

Hope all is well with everyone! :)

The idea of having a cabin on each deck with a dry wipe board for any plan changes or updates or messages is a good idea ( taken from Kimberley's (Buckeye Gal) previous cruise meet thread.
I've been on cruises with either a single dry erase board, or one on each deck.

I found that having a single location works best.

On cruises with multiple boards, some messages didn't make it to all decks. ("Due to an art auction, the group photo in the Atrium will be taken earlier at 11:00 am.")

Woody

tinker1bell- I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your cat. I know losing a pet is heart breaking. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Brenda

Well Im like you on a lot of this! My sister, Dad and Mum all have thier birthdays in 1 month (Sept 8th - Oct 8th) and both Mum & Dad and Sister & her Hubby have their anniversaries in September so we always seem to go away around then and I don't have anything at that time of year. Dans birthday is October and we went away for his in 08 and this is going to cover his too so I get nada.

Well, I think then, that we should have a day where those of us with nothing to actually celebrate on the cruise celebrate having nothing to celebrate!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Yay:yay::dance3::banana::dance3::banana::yay:

My mum (Elizabeth) and I want to join the ladies for lunch in Parrot Cay and then for Tea in Palos, we're in a GTY Cat 6 so don't have a room number but are happy to include our room in the tour.

We arrive in Barcelona on the Friday and would like to meet up for drinks too!

Thanks Sarah

OMG ...... how many pages of posts in 48 hours :

I lease it is not as bad as the 2008 pc cruise. I would check the thread in the morning and come back after to work 8 hours later and it would be 30 to 40 pages of posts. That way i need a lot of

I could do both teas, but since I can only book one ahead of time....:confused3 I think the only way to book a group tea is for all to try to book for the same day. :surfweb: So, that would mean for those of you wanting to book together to book Palo tea first thing as soon as booking opens up. Those who can book earlier can book for 2 (maybe 4??) people, or however many adults are in their stateroom. --at least this was the way it was in the past--- A group brunch can be scheduled, but not tea.
Unbirthday/Unanniversary Party!

Pj

That's what I was thinking...a VERY merry unbirthday party!!

Well, my 60th birthday is September 18th! Fireworks!!:love:

Terry's 60th is the 28th. I'm thinking that may be the pirates night since we will be in St. Marteen. Fireworks!!:love:

I would love to pull my weight and volunteer for something, but I have no idea how to do a scavenger hunt or organize a beer or martini tasting. If anyone would like some help and is in the mood to train me, I'm a quick study.:goodvibes

Things I see I would be interested in doing:
The 5K at Castaway Cay.
PJ party
Palo tea
Geezers meet
Palo brunch

DCL has beer, wine and martini tasting. We just need to decide which we will go to. There was, I believe, 2 of each on the PC. We did the second martini tasting on that one. It was fun. :woohoo: I have not heard of DCL setting up a separate one for DISers. Has anyone else had any experience with a private tasting sponsored by DCL?

OK so as we haven't seen CruzDirectorKaren over here for awhile I thought I would volunteer again to do a mini navigator for the cruise if people would like it? It would be sent out before the cruise so people could print a copy themselves and bring it onboard (mainly because of limits with luggage it worked out the best way to do it on the WBTA last time). If people dont have printing facilities I can bring a few spares too.

If people are happy with this Ill get to work? If people have any special dates (birthdays or anniversaries etc) that they would like noted in the navigator let me know and I can add these in.

Also can someone send me the details of the premeet/s that have been organised in Barcelona so I can add these too?

Wow, such good organisation from the Dis'ers!

Today i had made the decision to take Miles to the vet tomorrow to put him down. Well he had a different idea. He came and sat with me one last time then went into the kitchen and cried one last time and passed on. I just cannot even stop crying. This is the first time I have witnessed a pets death and am devistated.

We still have his sister Ella and another cat Josie. But now all of the boys are gone.

So sorry for you, I don't know what I would do if I lost my furry little friend, (spoodle - Holly).

Thanks everyone for their kind words. This just sucks after my daughter experiencing her fourth miscarriage, me losing my job and then this. Just kick me in the stomach one or two more times. :sad1::sad2:

Well, I don't think it can get any worse, It can only get better!

We love Earl of Sandwich and Wolfgang Puck's Express - we find it makes a nice change from the standard Disney counter service offerings - we are vegetarian and there are only so many vege burgers I can eat in a two week holiday :rotfl2:

You took the word right out my mouth, we aren't vegetarians, but do get sick of the same stuff everywhere!

Forgot to say - we are now staying at AKL Kidani Village with a savannah view immediately following the cruise - couldn't believe it when we got in!

Then off to Disneyland to the Grand Californian before flying back home to New Zealand - again we really lucked out getting into here!

Just need to get a rental for Florida now and flights from MCO to LAX and we are done...

We got some good prices on flights from MCO - LAX with AA, the prices tend to change rapidly though? I booked through the AA Australia site, it was cheaper than booking through the AA USA site. ;)

One more idea to throw in the mix, can we all bring a few bottles of beer from our countries, or is it too hard with luggage restrictions? (Husbands idea!)

I'm part of the unbirthday group too!
(And since I'm also part of the unhusband group that qualifies me for an unanniversary.)

If we are doing an extended un birthday group, sign me up... mine is August 30. Turning 45... uugh...

OMG, it took me a minute to understand the ketchup bottle! LOL!!!! That was great!
