I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

So, to make sure I have been paying attention, the Ink support for p1/p2 back and forth ends in early October? P2's last Ink was 6/26, so we can get one last try in for this?

How many Chase biz does P2 have open? Utilization?

My P2 got declined in August despite only 2 biz cards open the last of which was end of 2024. He did not have any balance on either of those cards at the time, but I was surprised given that it would have been only his 3rd biz card open, he's under 5/24, he hadn't apped Chase biz since 2024, etc.

I have both an Amex Plat Schwab and an Amex Plat Business. Not happy about the higher fee and the additional coupon booking. I'm really debating on my business card. My Schwab is basically paid for by the Schwab credit, but with the increased fees to pay taxes with business cards--so annoying--I'm struggling with whether to keep it for the any purchases I have over $5,000 to get 2 points. I have only used the hotel credit once. Most of the places I go, I don't need hotels. I need to check when my renewal date is... hope to have a year to decide. Very frustrated with the direction the cc companies are taking of huge annual fees offset by coupon books of questionable value.

You can still get 1.85% with ACI paying through Paypal, even with biz cards.

I haven't looked at that yet, I just wanted to make sure I had the dates straight. It's always a shot in the dark with Chase these days LOL

DW was just approved for a CIC with an open CIC and CIU. Also I closed her CIP 10 days prior. Both open cards had decent balances because I was taking advantage of the 0% on purchases for 12 months. I think if you have no more than 2 business cards open and they show a balance Chase will see you're using them and you have a better chance of getting approved. If you have no balance they may deny you for too much open credit. Also her velocity was CIC May 25, CIU July 25, and CIC September 25.

My friend currently has a Southwest card open since 2021 - if she closes it today can she apply for a new sw card tomorrow?

Can I apply for a CIC and a personal SW card on the same day?

CIC first since there's a soft 1/30 application rule for biz cards. 2/30 for personal. I think there's nothing to prevent you from doing same day. You'll still want to average to every 3 months.

Wait 4 days after closing if she applies for a different SW personal card. Wait 30 days if she applies for the exact same card.

Oh this makes me excited... we're going to Saigon too! Honestly that's the part of the trip I wasn't sure I would love as much, but glad to hear you had a great time there! We did book a private tour to the tunnels; DH is very excited for that and the War Remnants museum... he's a huge museum/history buff.
I'm glad you mentioned the zoo in Singapore... that is something I want to do, but DH is not thrilled about it. He's like "we've been to so many zoos, one more or less, they're all the same". But I recall others here commenting about the zoo being really great, too, so I think we're just going to go... I'm sure he'll wind up liking it, like all the other stuff I "drag" him to, lol.
WE HAD BREAKFAST WITH THE GORILLAS AT THE ZOO!
My DH was not thrilled about the war museum. You have to realize it's all on their point of view, so we were the enemy. He couldn't handle that! try to ride a rick(tri) shaw if you can. scary but fun!
also in Singapore we went to a hotel with a big infinity pool on top for a drink, it was in the movie crazy rich asians

Agree especially when you can earn 2x all purchases on the no AF Blue Business

Bummer on the sw front - she was hoping to get the elevated 100k offer which ends tomorrow, right?
In good news my plan worked - instant approval for me for a CIC and SW premier.
Last chase card opened was June - also a CIC. Closed a CIU September 5. So only had 1 chase biz card open when I applied today.

He Who Shall Not be Named is reporting that Chase has added a $250 travel credit starting January 1, 2026 (in addition to the 2 x $250 credits). They are also reporting that the 2 x $250 credits can be used simultaneously and in addition to the new $250 and $300 travel credits.
"Beginning Jan. 1, 2026, cardholders will automatically get a credit of up to $250 for each prepaid (two-night or longer) booking with The Edit (up to $500 annually). The credit will no longer be biannual and divvied up every six months; instead, it's applied to any prepaid two-night booking."
For me, this makes the card a keeper, at least for 2026.

New DP... I cancelled my Southwest Priority card last Tuesday and applied for the Southwest Plus this morning via DD's referral link (I'd sent her one for her new card a couple months ago). I initially got the 7-10 day message and started googling as I couldn't remember what that means nowadays. But within a few minutes I received the "congrats" email.

240k points for the family in a couple months. Love that. I don't need the Priority benefits anymore since by late October I'll have the A list status from my CSR--the benefits of no-withholding for my taxes I guess--but this should make getting another CP easy in early January. I'll also be ready if any rumors surface of changes to the CP to (hopefully) get grandfathered in this year if needed. Thanks for all the help and advice on this one.

Anyone else think that 5th boarding is going to be a cattle call?

keeping track of these credits it making my life difficult.

I was approved for the CIC card and asked for the card to be rushed on Monday, I am assuming that the card will come by tomorrow, but thought that calling first thing on Monday would allow the card to get here by today

The hotel credits are always hard for me to use and are often left. Really think I'm going to get the dl card for lounge access and then cancel my plat when the af hits next year. I can't stomach the new af when I'm going to have to create a trip or pay out of pocket hotels I wouldn't pay for.

I need to find out what MR cards allow points transfers though, because I have a card to keep them active but am planning to cancel my gold as well.

May PC my csr down to csp too but the af won't hit there for awhile.

I've found that it is usually at least 2 full business days from when they tell me they are sending the card to when I get it. So I would say Wednesday maybe but you should have it on Thursday if not.
