Sept 18 2010 WB TransAtlantic Pirates/Capt Jacks Re-Repoing Repossession Cruise Pt.10

Haven't checked in for a while...Happy New Year to Everyone!

No Disney cruises for 2011 :sad1: but we have use or lose DVC points so we're trying to decide how to use them. Our big trip this year is three weeks in the mid-east in late fall, including a two week cruise with Regent Cruise Line.

We're THINKING of the maiden voyage of the Fantasy next March. We've already done the itinerary before and the cost is high for a 7-day AND non-refundable, so the big draw is that it's the MV. I know a few of you have done MVs before and/or will be on the Dream or Fantasy MV. Please convince me!

Andrea

I've been giving serious thought to the MV of the Fantasy once they moved it to coincide with FFX Cnty spring break! And since the Orthodox easter falls a week or two later than the rest, we could do it without missing the easter festivities!

But you're right about the price, and I'm always concerned about the non-refundable part.

Page 3??? OMG!!!!

Cathleen I have been following you and your where is my room thread... Very cool indeed!

OK - lets see if we can stay on page 1...
Sue

Thanks, Sue! I was amazed at how many hits my little thread got! My 4 minutes of fame came in early December, when a friend of mine from another discussion board pinged me to see if I was on the DIS, since the folks on the DIS Unplugged podcast that week (1st week Dec I think) were talking about some cool thread by HallsofVA! I felt honored to be their first thread of the broadcast!

Did you guys get dug out yet?

Just a quick note to let you know John and I are on the MV of the Fantasy. We would just love to have you join us!! We are trying to squeeze in a trip to see the Fantasy being built this year before we take our WBTA in September. The group on the last WBTA was so fantastic that maybe we can carry on to the MV of the Fantasy!!

Page 3??? OMG!!!!

Oh - we are booked into the Caribbean Beach for April 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. We talked to Joe and Connie and they are checking plans... Who else will be there? We are looking to do a reunion!!!

Sue

We won't be there then, but if anyone is planning on being in WDW the first 2weeks in July we are hoping to be there visiting our daughter the Cast Member !!!!

It would be lovely to catch up with anyone who is there ..... :yay:

Sarah, I put you and Tony on my calendar! We'll definitely make time to come visit while you're in our neighborhood!

Hello Everybody!!! All the talk about future cruises is making me very jealous! We have nothing planned in the future, but I would LOVE to take the WBTA in September. I am just sorting through all my pictures and love thinking back to all those sea days.

We are seeing a lot of old cruise friends coming in next week for the Dream! Cannot wait to do dinner with Ann and Albert. Had dinner with Steffy the other night at Prime Time Diner. She did great at the Marathon and I was so proud of her doing the 5k. Even if I don't take another cruise for a while, it is great seeing everyone come to my part of town!

Awesome to be in the PodCast! I loved looking at where we would WANT to be on the ship!!

We are dug out (went stir crazy being iced in for a week!) and I am planning a WDW trip for April. I have the room booked and am now looking to do something fun for the kids birthdays. We always go and do Disney for our Anniversary - so I thought it was high time we celebrated them...

So, here is my plea again... We will be at WDW April 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 - heading home on the 9th, time undecided at this point. We are hoping to do the parks with Joe and Connie. We are also hoping that we can swing a reunion type dinner one night. Any takers??

We are also toying with the MV versus a September 2012 Fantasy cruise... Darn them for moving it up a week and giving me one too many choices...
Tracy is pricing it out for us - but right now we can't get the category room we want... Good to have her looking for us though... I keep hoping that something will open up and she will get it...

Hope that everyone is well!

Sadly, while we won't be there physically, can we at least visit in spirit? :) Maybe like a Flat Amy&Dave! :lmao:

Dave and I went outlet shopping today with my parents and sister in Lancaster, PA. We went to a smorgasbord for dinner called Shady Maple. It was very yummy! Here is the link if anybody is in the area and wants to go for some great food - www.shady-maple.com. We had a very nice day but we are SOOOO tired now from all of the shopping. I didn't spend too much money - I think the most I spent was buying this yummy pineapple salsa that I discovered that is sold at Kitchen Kettle Village in Intercourse, PA. I bought two huge jars...it should last a couple of weeks! LOL!!!!

Would LOVE to have a reunion dinner - any day is good for me but the Saturday, which I think is the 8th! Let me know Sue!!!

Sounds as though you had a great shopping trip and a lovely meal ..... I am a bit concerned by the name of that town though ... no way is it called that !

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: it will be wonderful to see you both again .. just waiting to confirm dates with work and then we will start booking flights etc.

We are more or less committed to the WBTA 2011 now ... again just waiting to make sure we can get the time off. I have started posting on the meet thread, but it is no where near as active as WBTA 2010 ... they are only on PART 2 with 7 months to go :confused3:confused3 Some familiar faces though .. .. so all we need now is everyone from WBTA 2010 to book WBTA 2011 ... any takers :thumbsup2

It sounds like it is impossible for it to be called that, but there are several interesting names of towns around Amish Country in Lancaster County. Here is a link to Intercourse, PA and some of the surrounding towns.

Can I just mention how you all have spoiled me for other cruise meets? We're booked on a cruise this August, and I just can get engaged in the meet thread. The Dream is full to the gills on that sailing, and you can't book it for 4 people anymore it's so full! I told my kids godparents who are booked on that cruise with us, that if it weren't for them being booked, and for prices having risen so high on the other sailings, that we'd strongly consider postponing in favor for a Fantasy or other cruise.

Oh man, one more reason to consider the MV of the Fantasy!

I can't decide on the MV, and they'll probably sell out before I figure things out. Are you also working with Tracy W still?

I am just looking forward to the MV of the Fantasy. John and I are trying to plan a quick trip to Papenburg to see her before the WBTA this year.

Edited to add:

Nevermind! I just mentioned the MV to DH, and once he realized we're talking about next year on the Fantasy he said "DO IT!". I just sent Tracy an email to move one of our reservations to the MV. Course, she's heading out for 3-4 Dream cruises, so I probably didn't catch her at the best time. Now to get trip insurance to protect our deposit money!

----------------------

So several of you are on the Fantasy MV. Talk me into it. I currently have 3 separate Fantasy dates booked for 2012, (one led by our own Captain) at prices ranging from $4000 up to $4700, plus one or two in 2011. The current 2012 cruises are already more than what we normally pay, but with the kids older, we have to cruise during school breaks. The change in date for the MV makes it possible, since it's our spring break that week. The MV of the Fantasy would cost us at least $5500 or $5900, depending on which category of room (based on what's available right now.) That's quite a difference, given we've paid as little as $2400 for a 7nt cruise, and only slightly more than that for the WBTA.

The plus - spring break cruise on a brand new ship with MV perks, likely to be cooler than the summer cruises
The negatives - Cost (about $200/pp/pd vs the $50/pp/pd we paid on the WBTA), potentially expensive airfare, no time for WDW, non-refundable deposits, some past problems making CC in March

Tell me why we should book the MV!

1. The group that is going will be some of us from the WBTA, 2. The excitement to be the first "real" cruisers on the Fantasy. Enough for John and I to make the leap!!
