Sept 17 2005 Magic - am i alone on the ship?

"Cheeseburger in Paradise.
Heaven on Earth with an Onion slice
Not to particular, not too precise,
Just a cheeseburger in Paradise..

Heard about the old time sailor men
They'd eat......"

Next......ANYONE??????

"You can hear it on the coconut telegraph
Can't keep nothin' under their hat
You can hear 'em on the coconut telegraph
Sayin' who did dis and dat
Dis and dat dis and dat

Now I'm not one to deal in gossip
But was he that big of fool?
To do a belly buster high dive
And miss the entire pool?
Now what's the word on sweet Melissa?
And the kid nobody knew
Did Ricardo ever find her?
I swear it's just between me and you"

UH oh. Are we going to play JB songs? I can't keep quiet for that. In fact I was listening to Radio Margaritaville.com when I saw your post. Great way to fire up for the cruise while your at work......no radio necessary!

14 days..........but whose counting anyway?

I am making a Disney resolution:

My friends and family booked last March, (04 that is). We have been gearing up for a year and a half. I can’t really believe the time has come.

We too have been planning this cruise for a year & 1/2... about the same time as you. Started around Spring break of '04

Kinda hard to believe it's only a few days away!!! :cloud9:

Hey guys,

Two weeks from to-moooooooooooooo-rooooooooooooooooooooow! :) We are members of the "fly out on Saturday AM" group. I

Good to know what movies are planned for the cruise. I think I'll still call the Monday before we leave to see if the list has changed. I was hoping "Valiant" would be showing on the cruise, although I read a review that said the theater was full of children and hardly anyone laughed during it. :confused3

I was thinking last night... there's like 37.4 FFCers going on Lord Sheffield's. For those of us that have opted for something else, you need to reassure us you won't form a mini-clique and forget about the rest of us non-Pirate boat people! :rotfl:

Wendy, it's funny - I used to not enjoy cooking, but one summer I decided I needed to learn. So I took "lessons" (free) from my best friend's mom and learned a few really good meals I can show off for guests. I don't know why I did that - my own mother is a cook for a living! (I think it was an excuse to see my best friend more! :)) Anyways, I discovered that I had inherited my mom's cooking gene. So now I enjoy it a lot when I make a meal for other people because I have confidence that it's good. :) I have confidence your meals will be great this weekend too!

Guess that's all for now. Christal, your updates continue to work their magic. :)

Hey all! :wave2:

Christal- Thanks for the kind sentiments regarding my dog. I wish is wasn't so hard losing a pet but it is almost like losing a family member. :paw: :dog:

Deege- I, like Jen, thought you were going to tell us you had to cancel. Then I read the rest and started laughing. :rotfl:

Lisa M.- I know what you mean about watching the news reports on New Orleans. I find it depressing myself so I don't watch much of it either. I don't think that makes us bad people. It just means our mind can only consume so much before out heart breaks for the people dealing with this devastation. I remember thinking after 9/11 happened that we would never get back to normal life in this country again but here we are 4 years later. It just takes time. The best gift we can offer those people right now is prayer and lots of it. We have thrown around a phrase on this board before with humorous conotations but now I say it with all the seriousness I can muster, "This too shall pass".
I am glad you mentioned the deal with your phone because we have the Get it Now thing too but I thought it didn't cost anything.

Missy- I think we should have Jimmy playing at our cruise meet. What do you think?

Exactly 2 weeks from today I am going to get to see Jen and her family again and I am sooooo excited. Then the next day I get to meet you all. How great is that!? :Pinkbounc

Missy, Coconut Telegraph is my favorite JB song and my favorite JB album. Did I say album? Dating myself...

I could sing JB all day. "Boat drinks, waitress I need few more Boat Drinks..."

"SALT, PEPPER, SALT, PEPPER.............SALT

That is all I had to say.......Wendy that was for you.

Have a great long weekend,

Missy

Yayyyy!! 3 day weekend! Now if I could only sneak outa here and get it started a little early...*sigh* ;)

Uh...Oh....
Oh........Just.........can't.........stop..........it.........

"I blew out my flip-flop
Stepped on a pop-top
Cut my heel had to cruise on back home
But there's booze in the blender
And soon it will render
That frozen concoction that helps me hang on..."

*sigh*
see what happens when you just give in??? :rotfl:

"It's those changes in latitudes,
changes in attitudes nothing remains quite the same.
With all of our running and all of our cunning,
If we couldn't laugh, we would all go insane."

and one for you Cristal. :rolleyes1

Missy

And of course, Christal's quote, BEST LINES EVER IN A SONG.

In fact, that is what made me think of Flip Flops for our name, when I was making ten gillion name suggestions.

I have 4 day weeks the next two weeks! Yaaaaaa Hooooooooo! :flower1: :flower1: :flower1: :flower1: :flower1: :genie: :genie: :wizard:

Jenny... don't worry, us "Pirate People" won't forget you little folk! :goodvibes Although we might make you walk the plank that night!! :rotfl:

Hi! Wow, I got lots of JB songs to add to my cruise collection CD's. Thanks for all the ideas. Can't wait to sit by the pool with a "frozen concoction" of my own. It is so hot here today. Have you ever noticed when you are at the port waiting to board and you see the long faces of the ppl leaving and you don't think about it until the next week when you are leaving and you see all the excitement in the faces of those waiting to board. Oh well, that's why we have to enjoy every second we can!! This time next week I will be so excited!! It will be hard to sleep!! It always is the night before.-Donna

The JB songs have me fired up now! I was ready to go to bed until I read all the posts I missed this afternoon! We spent the afternoon at the pool then went to dinner and shopping! I bought another dress for the cruise :cool1: Nothing formal...just a really nice sundress :sunny: We took the little guys to Stride Rite to get them measured for new shoes. DS(1) was TERRIBLE! He has gotten so used to wearing sandals without socks over the summer that when the sales lady tried to put socks on him to measure his feet...he screamed bloody murder! Someone would have thought I was beating my kid! This winter ought to be fun with him trying to get him to wear socks and shoes! DS(3) was great...when we were done holding Dylan down...Ayden jumped right up and said..'Is it my turn?'! :goodvibes If you have read our bio's...you may remember that Ayden is my little shopper and Dylan is my little terror :earseek: Like Jen said in the bio...good thing he is so darn cute :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Well I am off to lay on the couch and be lazy :cool1:

:flower: Just a quick post before I retire for the night. Not mad at anyone, just haven't posted for a while, but have been peeking in once in a while to catch up on posts. :) :earsgirl:

Lisa(PrincessLKMiller), who just happens to be my daughter & lives only about 8-10 miles from me, kinda bad to have to find out things that are going on in your life (and my DGS's) by reading it on the dis boards!! :goodvibes And you say I never tell you about things that happen!! Enough family squabbles on the board!!

I also, like Lisa, am getting very depressed by watching all the news reports about Katrina. I just have to turn it off at times! It makes me feel so guilty that I have it so good & am getting so excited about going on this wonderful cruise, & here are all these people going through this terrible tradgedy!! :guilty: It all seems so unreal & unbelievable, like something from a movie or something!! My DH & I saw the aftermath from Frances & the one about the week before her in FL last year, & thought that was so bad, but this one is about a thousand times worse! It is so unbelievable! Enough of that, gotta stop!

Someone help me get back on track getting excited about this cruise & not feel guilty for being so blessed! :cloud9:

Later, :grouphug:
Penny

Hey strangers!

Sorry it's been soooooo long since I've posted.

Jen, It was so sweet for you to wonder where I was...and I think it was DonaldsGal? that pm'd me. So thank you for that as well.

Unfortunately, I ran into some bizarre health issues...nothing contagious or anything, so I can still go on my trip...but I am going through lots of tests, MRI's, cat scans and stuff...

Anyway, it was easier just to check in on one thread here and there, so that's why I would occasionally post on the Colorado board, but I actually haven't done that in awhile.

So all that aside....My documents came in yesterday. Besides my family of 4, we're travelling with a couple other families. We're all so excited about the trip, but like everyone here, we're feeling just terrible with everything that's going on...I also do real estate, and one of my clients that's moving here from Florida, just emailed me and told me the shortage has just started in her area, which is about 30 miles from the Port...she said the lines are terrible, and many stations don't have any gas at all.

I wonder how this might affect our tranfers from the airport to the port...

Good to be back!

Lisa.
