About the drinking thing, I like to have a drink every so often and that will probably happen very often on the cruise. Got to have a nice cold drink around the pool and that is were I like to hang out at. Not sure about bringing my own liquor on the ship, seems like more trouble than it is worth. Mainly because I would have to leave the pool or whatever I was doing just to go mix another drink. I know it gets expensive but we are on vacation and letting everyone else wait on us because I am sure Trisha and I will be waiting on the kids as usual(when they are around) Of course these are just my opinions and may not necessarily relect the opinion of this disboard

Jen you know that Trisha and I will be out partying with you and Mike as often as possible. Who needs to sleep we are on vacation we can sleep when we get back to work.

Family reunion to go to tomorrow(Saturday)and then Sunday afternoon heading for Santa Claus, Indiana (over in Brad's neighborhood)to go camping and to Holiday World(amusement park). Should be a fun packed time and very adventureous, well maybe not adventureous but definitely FUN.

Anyway, everyone have a great weekend and try to stay out of trouble. Don't want to read in the newpaper how somebody from the disboard got thrown out of "Willy Wonka" for being to rowdy. Hey quite down front!!!!

Steve, You are very funny (both in a sarcastic (haha) way and literally). Quite a funny fellow. The liquor in your room is for having one when you are getting ready, taking it to the SSSBS (Sweet Sue....), things like that. You don't keep going back and forth from your perch to the room. That is waaayyyy to much work and exercise! Besides, I'm booking the transportation so I get two votes and you get one (and we are stopping!)
I got the shirt (finally). My husband said it is very colorful. I am more in the middle. I will attatch a picture of it for all to see. The first picture is modeled by my hunk a burnin love husband (what a good sport) For size ideas he is 5'9 (5'10 if you ask him but he lies!) 175 lbs.

Hi! The kids list lost one of my four kids. Alison will be five on the cruise. I am a manager at McDonalds and my husband is a machine operator. I also would like to know when the best time to go to Palos is? Any suggestions?

If you ARE interested in the FFC sign, PM me so I can start making a list of who wants the signs. I'll need to know:

1) Do you want real names or screennames on the sign?
2) The names of all the people you want on the sign.
3) Do you want where you're from on the sign? (The one posted doesn't show that because I'm not sure we're putting our home city/state on there)

I will print them out on the magnetic paper and bring them with me in Sept. I'll hand them out at the first DIS meet (thereby sneakily creating more incentive for us to meet you ).

MEETS ON BOARD:
Sat 3 PM Mickey pool, deck 9 - wear green yarn on your wrist so we can ID each other. Sweetsue's daughter will apparently come racing toward you with her walker to welcome you officially to the Flip Floppin' Castaways cruise.
BACK-UP PLAN: In the event of inclimate weather, this meet will be held in the Promenade Lounge on Deck 3 at the same time.
Sun 1 PM atrium lobby deck 3 for cabin tour. We're going to walk around and look at each other's cabins to see the different styles and plan what stateroom category we want next time.
Wed 4/4:30-6 stateroom 8080 - sweetsue (Sue)'s stateroom for her birthday party in one of the suites!

I am making reminder signs (1 per stateroom) to list all the meets. I decided to punch a hole in the top and give everyone a suction cup with a hook hanging off to hang the sign on a wall, mirror, verandah door, etc. I figured that was better than handing people a piece of paper that would get lost amidst all of DCL's "less important" documentation. Be sure to confirm for me in a PM or in a regular post how many cabins you have so you get enough reminder signs for them all. Also, please let me know if you are celebrating any birthdays or anniversaries while on board. If I don't hear from you, I'll just make you one DIS meets sign no matter how many staterooms you have.

As of September 6, this is all the pertinent info. I'll update this post as necessary.

I hope posting the above didn't step on anyone's toes... I just figured that having all the info condensed into one place will be easier when we get newcomers (who we love and can't wait to greet enthusiastically!!!). Now when a newcomer arrives, ANY OF US can say, "Welcome aboard! Read post 1250 on page 84 of the thread to catch all the pertinent info." Is that okay? Then they can digest the overflowing amounts of information at their own speed and have one place to go to get caught up. And it's one central location for all of you oldies to go back and refresh your brains (not me - I'm only 25, and Emily's even younger, so we don't count! ) J/K!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow! This is SO great, thanks for the welcome!! I saw earlier that there is 84 pages of postings and really appreciated that you summarized all the newcomer information. We are traveling from St. Louis, MO. The last 2 Disney cruises that we were on were with a large group of family and this time it is just my husband, son and I so were are really anxious to meet other people. I am so glad I stumbled upon this board and I will PM our information and I also looked at the T-shirts and they are really cool, can't wait to get our order in and to meet everyone soon.

I also wanted to ask- I saw that the shore excursions are non-refundable. Do you still not get your money back if it is cancelled because of the weather?

Pam, I have not had to pay if the boat didn't dock (is last year we went western...I know, I don't want to talk about it....) and we didn't pay anything. We didn't book with DIsney, but an independent organization but I am sure if they don't take you to it they can't charge you for it. Also, to get the countdown go to tickerfactory.com or daisypath.com....go through the steps and it will give you a (?URL?) line or some kind of line....highlight it, right click and copy it...go to user cp (at top left of screen) and then edit signiture and paste it in. It is easier than it sounds. I fumbled my way through it. If you have any problems, just ask.

Thank you for adding Alison to the list. She is tiny but she can't be forgotten since she is the one that gets into everything at my house. SHe is soon five and you still have to watch her like a hawk. She inscribed her name into my van a couple of months ago and whatever she can get her hands on she smears onto everything, her dolls, her carpet, her furniture, everything!
Anyway, so I can change Palo reservations on board? If I have two staterooms can I have two reservations. I don't want to be a pig but me and my husband can go one night and my mom and step father can go another night. Ihave one room in my name and the other in my husband's name because when I originally booked my mom and step father weren't booked. They decided to go later and I didn't want to lose my onboard credit. Boy, figuring out the money situation on the cruise will be something with two of my kids being in my mom and step father's room which was originally my husband's room with two kids in it. Can my mom credit card info. be changed from my husband's info. once we board the cruise just so my mom and step father's stuff gets charged only to them. I mean can their Key To The World cards have only their credit card info. on it and my kids have our info. on it so it doesn't get all messed up? Does any one know about this? And since the room is in my husband's name can they take over the room after boarding just for money reasons? Jen we have no excursions, palio mondat evening and our cell phones well that is interesting... we do have a number that would work there but it is via singapore... umm hopefully we will pick up a prepaid sim card when we get there (this is possible i presume)
oh and doesn't make much difference but technically Nick is just short of 3yrs but he thinks he is much older (makes a hugh difference price wise though)
and the t-shirt looks good

there will be no H*******s from mid sept to mid october that get anywhere near WDW. if there is one that effects the Magic it will just increase our cruise time! (i'm going for the power of positive thinking here)

I'm going to attempt to answer your questions with the help of the Passporter.

Anyway, so I can change Palo reservations on board? If I have two staterooms can I have two reservations.

You should be able to make different ressies for different rooms. I originally thought it might not work since both of you have the same last name, but this works with people who have siblings in other rooms and they get their own ressies. Should work.

Can my mom credit card info. be changed from my husband's info. once we board the cruise just so my mom and step father's stuff gets charged only to them. I mean can their Key To The World cards have only their credit card info. on it and my kids have our info. on it so it doesn't get all messed up? Does any one know about this? And since the room is in my husband's name can they take over the room after boarding just for money reasons?

I don't know this for certain, but having worked in the hotel industry for a while on a much smaller scale, you could have reserved 10 rooms in your name. When you showed up, we changed in our system the name of the person in the room and put their credit card info in the computer instead of the original reservator (lol). I think you should do this at check-in at the terminal - have them change the name of the other stateroom to your mom or step-dad's name. Shouldn't be a problem.

I do know that anyone can sleep in any of the rooms once we board because on our papers my mom is in my room and my step father is in ny husbands but I know that this will be changed once we get there because sorry I'm not sleeping with my mom. So your DSD (step-dad) is in your hubby's room? You might not need to change the name on the room because, since your DSD is in that room, you could use his cc for the room and also get Palo ressies for them. If you tried to do what I suggested above (switch names at check-in), you might lose the credit on the second room since it's no longer in your name. So, in that case, you could leave as is, put your DSD's cc down for onboard purchases, and keep the credit for both rooms. Did that make sense? If he's in the room, DCL (or any other hotel) doesn't care whose CC gets used. In fact, even if he WASN'T in the room, you could his CC for every room. They don't care who pays. We did this all the time at the lodge where I worked. That's how grandparents are able to pay for all expenses on DCL trips - they put their CC down on all the rooms. No problem.

I hope this answers your questions. I am not an authority on this issue with DCL. It just seems it would work that way since every hotel chain I've ever visited from Motel 8 in Santa Cruz, CA to the Beach Club in WDW lets you do this.
