Does anyone know what is happening this weekend at Disneyland. There are no rooms available at the Disney resorts? I wasn't expecting crowds this weekend and hoping not to have it too busy.

It is very busy because of the 50th celebration and this is peak season. There also may be a convention and the Anaheim convention center that is causing more room occupancy. I hope you have a fun trip!!!!

I was having the same problem. But my dates were 12-15 The only hotel available was the GC- little out of my budget. But I did find the Fairfield Inn on Harbor for 75/night. Has anyone stayed there?

We are going in that time frame too from September 11 to the 17th. I think that it is just more busy than usual with the 50th celebration going on. I know that September is value season and usually not that crowded, but when we were looking at our dates at when to go, all the weekends in September and October were pretty much the same when it came to availability at the Disney resorts--mostly booked up especially on Friday and Saturday nights. We had to split our reservation in 2 parts to even stay the whole time that we wanted to.

I figure that we are going to go and expect higher than usual crowds, so that way I won't be disappointed, and will get to see the great celebration going on. I know that we will have a great trip regardless! Have a great time, we will be right down there with ya! :goodvibes

We are going in Sept. too, I keep looking to see if our Homewood Suites rate would go down. But, no such luck actually it went higher and higher and now they don't have avaliablity during the weekends we are there. So I expect it will be busier then I counted on. I just hope not like July was a few years back. I think we will avoid Disney on the weekends unless that is the only time to see Fantasmic and Fireworks. I will keep my fingers crossed for every night shows like they did for the 45th anniversary.

If they had Fantasmic every night it would make all my wishes come true! LOL But due to the hours that they have posted for the month, even though they don't have the schedule up, I am not counting on it...:(
I hope they will have the fireworks every night though! I am pretty disappointed that with the crowds they are going to seem to have they could extend the hours and shows a little bit for us. :goodvibes
I am hoping to avoid the weekend too except the one day we can see Fantasmic...

Last Friday, I booked 3 rooms at the DLH for the nights of the 16th and 17th directly with Disney reservations. The AAA rate for a standard view was $212 (plus tax and resort fee). Expedia also has these nights, but the rate is higher.

Good luck -- Suzanne

We stayed at the Fairfield Inn in 2002 and since we spent the majority of our time in the parks, we did not spend much time in the room. It is a short walk to the entrance of the parks, so you will not need to take the trolly.
Nothing to complain about, but you can always check www.tripadvisor.com and see what the review are for the place.
