Scrapperjill...great news! I am so glad Sydney is doing better and the trip is on! I have been praying for her.

Lisa...How are things on your end? Celebration, right? I live in Winter Springs in Seminole County. We keep getting bands, but nothing too bad...yet. It isn't easy doing all of this without our husbands, is it? Luckily, the PD is only a mile away and he can be here in a minute if I need him. (He worries more about me being here without him than I do!) You know, we really deserve this cruise next week!!

Glad to hear that you are holding up so far. I am trying not to be glued to the weather channel. My friend Diane says that I am getting her depressed, especially with Ivan out there. The last prediciton for Ivan was a track over the leeward islands and then turning northwest towards ... you guessed it the US mainland.
hang in there ladies. After this we all deserve a great trip next week!

I still have packing to do. We just bought a larger suitcase for Diane because she couldn't fit her clothes in with all the tip suggestions items she had packed. it really gave me a laugh!

Glad to hear that you have your airfare paid and tickets. Great news about Sydney too.

My concern now is whether or not the hotels at the port will have much damage. I am thinking about calling the Radisson on Monday (or Tuesday). With Frances stalled just off shore who knows what will happen next.

My husband Mike, daughter Dierdre (3.5), and I will (are hoping) be joining you next week. This storm coupled with Ivan has me in fits right now! I just read someone's post saying that they're predicting Ivan to be a category 5?! Oy!!!

Scrapperjill: Hooray!!! I'm so happy to hear that you were able to get your air transportation! And so glad to hear that Sydney's doing well! It is the best news I've heard all day (and there has definitely been a shortage of good news!)
Nancy DVC: I read on one of these boards that the Radisson has said they will be closed until Sept 10. I don't know where that info came from. We're staying at the Quality Suites, which is the sister property of the Radisson, so I emailed the manager (that helped us with our reservations) to please let me know the status once they are back up and running.

I have read on some weather web sites that it is far too early and there are way too many variables to guess if, where or when Ivan might hit. I can't stand the suspense!

mrsltg- our DD, Kambria, is almost 4 and she is so excited to hear about other kids her age that we've "met" already and will be on the Magic with us. We are hoping she'll feel more comfortable in the kids club if she at least knows some names of kids she may see there. Right now though we are just hoping to go on our vacation as planned not to worried about the details of what we'll do when we get there.

Well, our DD's definitely have unusual names, that ought to help them to find each other! Dierdre is used to daycare/pre-school, so she's excited about the clubs. How about Kambria?

I'm so worried about Ivan now that my DH and I are trying to figure out how to tell Dierdre in case the trip is cancelled. I am just praying that all will work out and we'll be happily laughing all of this off this time next week. Fingers crossed!!!

Looks like i'm going to need to change my countdown timer now...makes me sad all over again.

Ive been glued to the weather stations all day. Frances needs to do her job...and get out of town!! This wait is awaful. I can't imagine what those who decided to stay in the coastal area are going through. I'm so focused on what Frances is doing that I can't even think of doing all the things I need to do inorder to be ready to go. ....Then theres Ivan...who seems to be picking up some speed. I'm in knots over Ivan...and what it's doing.

Lopezgang. When you did the priceline for your hotel...did you just get lucky with it having the airport shuttle...or is there some way you can check before you book? Priceline...is the one where you post what you'll pay...and they search for a hotel who will take your offer...right??

This is the second Disney cruise for our family-first one for hubby. Two DS ages 12(will be 13 Sept 17) and 5. Praying for everyone in Frances' path and keeping fingers crossed that Ivan gets lost!!! Kambria goes to preschool and has playdates at her friends' houses without me all the time. I think she will be fine in the clubs once she warms up. We have talked to her about the various activities and she is looking forward to dancing with Snow White and the little show at the end of the cruise. But, she was saying the other day she wanted us to stay at the clubs with her. I think if she makes some friends and figures out that the club is where the fun action is then she might want to spend lots of time there. I will tell her about Dierdre. We are hoping we don't have to explain to Kambria that we're not going. If it's too questionable we'll tell her it's not safe and we'll go another time. It will be a big bummer for all of us if we have to cancel.

The whole Ivan thing makes everything more stressful.

Actually,I hope that we will all be there . This whole hurricane season could just end now and I am sure there would be alot of happy people! Did the quick calculation, 98 hours until we leave for the long drive. What's with Ivan? I just want to get on the ship.... anything after that is extra fun. I keep watchin disney's page for updates, but I think they are as up in the air as we all are. Hope those in florida are faring well. enough with the tropical storms already, good weather, we want good weather...... no more tropical storms... That should work, right?

Welcome Moochie's Mom!

If you have issues for being glued to the weather channel, then I'm right there with you, issues and all!

I ironed and packed all day yesterday, hoping that the power of positive thinking will get us on that boat Saturday!

Hopefully too, we'll be able to get a good idea if the hotels and other coastal businesses will be up and running again within the next day or two.

Glad to hear everyone in FL is okay for now. I too hope that we can just make it to the ship!

scrapperjill- I am so happy that you got your airline tickets. As for priceline, I followed the advice on the castawayclub website. I chose orlando airport area and then three stars. My initial bid was for $29 but was rejected, but they said I could try again for $7 more and when I did I got it, then they told me it was the Marriott. On the castaway website Barb says she does this every time and almost always ends up with the Marriott which does have a shuttle. One time she got the Renaissance which also has a shuttle. I don't know if there are any hotels in that category, but on all of their trips they seem to get these two and I figured it was worth a try. I figured if for some reason we got a hotel with no shuttle we would just get a cab. Being that you chose the airport area I figure most probably have a shuttle or a cab ride wouldn't be too far. Good luck!

Threesmiths- I am so glad to hear that you got your documents. I think we were the last two.

My husband is already asking me when we will plan the next cruise if Ivan messes this one up and we get a discount to book the next one!! I just hope we make it on the ship- a few less or extra days would be okay with me!

I hope that all of you in FLA are hanging in there. Reports on the weather cahnnel don't sound good for any ships to be docking there Monday. The last one I saw had a recorded wind gust of 124 MPH at PC!

TraSee and Hookedon Magic, I hope that you and your families are doing well. I feel sorry for all the emergency personnel who have been on duty for so long with no end in sight! Theses troms are usually here and gone in 1 day or less. This hanging on is driving me nuts!

ThreeSmiths, Thanks for the info about the Radisson. I will try to contact them by email. I have a feeling that none of the hotels on the coast will be open for a week or more. And if the central Florida hotels are still full of evacuees then I don't know what I will do! Maybe we can pitch tents on someones lawn for one night?

And with all the reports from the governor who knows if they will even let us into FLA this week.

My friend Diane says that I am making her nervous and depressed with all this talk about Frances not to mention being glued to the weather channel!
Thank goodness for all of you on this board. It helps me keep my sanity.

And regardless of what happens to our cruise I am praying for everyone in FLA right now!

Go away Ivan!!

I just keep thinking ...as long as we can get to the area and get on the ship...we will be fine with our cruise. Even with Ivan on the way. So we may not be going the direction we had planned...but we will still be on the ship. So my biggest worries now...(as far as our plans go) is since our flight is not until Friday...the airports will have delays, closures and no flights due to Ivan..and we will have troubles getting to the ship. So I'm keeping the idea in the back of my mind to change our flight plans to arrive earler...but then I fear there may be a change of ports at the last moment. I think I can happly say I to have issues...I'm sure if I didn't have any before all this...I do now

Oh...I don't think I ever gave an official welcome...to Moochie'sMom, Tink71973 & mrsltg...I am soooo looking forward to meeting everyone.

I think I'll take a moment to change my countdown now....I just finished calling WDW dinning to officially cancle our dinning arrangements at Cinderellas Royal Table, Whispering Canyon Cafe, O'hana's and The Storybook Princess breakfast....I've been postponing the call since we heard our trip was cancled...Now that I did it...it's soooo depressing.

I just printed the updated list that Kathy posted and gave it to Diane. After defining the abbreviations (or as she call them 'all those alphabet letters') she has asked me to correct her description from Best Friend to 'DBF' aka Disney Best Friend!

TTFN as we sit and wait for Frances to go away and for Ivan to go someplace else! (As of the last report Ivan was the most southern tracking hurricane in tracking history! Maybe it will stay v-e-r-y far south!)

I'm reading all the different threads...about Ivan and Frances and such. I just got a picture in my head of me standing in my closet unpacking everything...boo hoo

I really hope that Florida is spared by Ivan. It's just too much for the people there to have to go through. It must feel like it's the end of the world down there...with storm after storm pounding away.

I just read a live post from the Magic....the DCL website has them scheduled to arrive at 11 a.m. tomorrow, but instead it has been moved to 4 p.m., which is, of course, subject to change.

I know I'm anxious and worried with all of these "what if's", but what about the 9/4 cruisers that decided to go anyways? I highly doubt they'll be getting on the boat tomorrow.

I'm too much of a planner to be able to sit here and not stew over the situation.
