I just noticed that this cruise doesn’t have an official Dis thread, so I thought I’d start one. Are any Disers joining me on the Wonder from 9/11-9/14/08.

Shameless bump.....Anyone else???? Am I really the only one?

I'm considering going then. Will you be going solo? Just wondering as if I go, I might be and have never gone on any trip alone.

Yes, I will be solo for this cruise. This is my second solo cruise, and I kinda like going by myself b/c I don't need to weorry about what my travel companions want to do. It's also nice to have my own stateroom. Hopefully, we'll be able to find more Disers who are joiing us!

Ok, I officially booked this cruise!! Actually, I won't be solo after all, but cruising with another DISer. It will be their first Disney cruise and my second. Look forward to meeting you!!

We booked the cruise for my birthday. Looking forward to being on the Wonder again. Now both my boys will be old enough for the clubs!!!!!

I'm looking forward to all of the the other DISers who will be cruising! I'm sure we'll have a great time!

Happy Birthday ( a few months early)!!! Disney trips are always a great birthday gift!!

Myself, DH, DD14, DS12, DS10, DD9
I have become obsessed with this trip:cool1:
We will be at WDW for 6 days then boarding the Wonder
First time in Florida and first DCL for all of us.
Any suggestions from the veterans?
Thanks
Lisa

Well it looks like we are few but strong.
I have been reading about this fish extender game people play on the ship and was hoping our group had one started.
If anyone is interested our family would love to participate.
We do a similar thing at christmas for The Twelve Days of Christmas
We choose 1 family each year, and for each of the 12 days of Christmas we drop a gift at their front door. The kids have such a great time, trying to be sneaky so the recipient doesnt know it is them until the last night.
Let me know
Thanks

We did an FE exchange on my cruise in May and it wound up being a lot of fun! We only had 8 or 9 families that participated, so it doesn't take that many to get it really going and we really wound up getting lots of cool stuff! I still have my FE, so I'm all for it if we have enough interest!

The funny thing is that I'm cruising with another DISer (they've never done a Disney cruise before), and when I told him about the FE exchange on my first cruise he made fun of me (also gave me a very hard time about making magnets for the door............lots of fun too if you're interested in that sort of thing!) Anyway, we've been talking about this cruise and wouldn't you know that now HE'S the one asking if we're doing magnets and an FE exchange! :rotfl2: :lmao: :rolleyes1 Funny how people change! :rotfl:

We are all for a FE exchange.
But I am not sure how this works.
Do we exchange stateroom numbers or is it like a scavenger hunt to find the FE's on the doors?
I told the kids about it and they are already coming up with great ideas for gifts. It is funny how creative they can be.

The way we did it (and this was based upon what other DISer's had told us that they had done on here), once we knew who was participating, we compiled a list of the stateroom numbers and how many people/ages were in the room. We had a cut off date of new participants a week prior to sailing so that everyone could get all of their exchange items figured out. I think that we'll need a few more to really make it work. Hopefully others will show some interest soon! :)

By the way, it sounds like your kids would love doing magnets for your door! Let me know if you want the link to the thread where DISer's will design them for you. :goodvibes

I stumbled upon the design thread and my printer has gone non-stop ever since. There are so many awesome designs and of course I am wanting to do shirts also.
Well I am going to plan for the FE exchange and even if we dont get many participants - my family will give out our extras as pixie dust gifts on the ship.

That's great about giving away the extra stuff! :goodvibes When I was handing out things people asked what I was doing and I explained. Unfortunately, I didn't have extras, but I was thinking how nice it would have been to surprise some unexpecting people! :thumbsup2

BTW, lcombs57, let me know if you have any questions about WDW or the cruise that I can try and help you with. I've been to WDW 35 times, and so far once on DCL, but hope to up the number! ;)

My friend is now sounding excited about the FE exchange.......already talking about what he can bring as gifts! Who would've thought! :rotfl2:

Thanks so much for your offer to help.
This is our 1st to WDW and 1st DCL
We go to DL at least once a year, I am wanting to do everything possible to make this a trip of dreams, because living in AZ I am not sure when we will be on the east coast again. I have not made many ADR's and I am second guessing that. But I was hoping that in the parks we would just stop when we are hungry. Is that a wise choice? or do you think I should make ressie's for more dining? Ressies I have - Hoop De Review, Cinderella's Royal table
I have ressies for Cirque and Epcot Dive Quest. And I am hoping to get ressies for GF Photo Shoot. Any advice would be great. Thanks

Definitely make ADR's for any table service restaurant that you think that you may want to dine at. They book up quickly and with free dining being during that time I believe, it will make it that much harder. I'm not even sure how many you could get now due to that, but it's certainly worth trying. Some good ones are the Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom, Chef Mickey's is always one of my favorites due to the characters (the breakfast is good), I like the Coral Reef at Epcot, Kona Cafe at the Polynesian hotel is great for breakfast, and there are lots of others! You have some great stuff to do, so I wouldn't worry if the restaurants are booked. You can always do fast food. Where are you staying? The Cirque show is great! Have you been to one before? I've seen four different ones and this is definitely my favorite!

We are staying at the ASMusic, I wanted to go moderate but the price difference just didnt seem worth it. My kids are Disneyland pros! so I figured we wouldnt be spending much time at the hotel anyways.
I actually got the Cindrellas Royal Table booked last night, I was calling for the cirque ressie and just asked about CRT cancellations and got lucky.
The best part is I got a late ressie on Wed 9/10 and spending a late night at mnsshp the night before makes it perfect.
I was thinking of making ressie at Fultons Crab House for dinner before Cirque.
I have been to a Cirque show in Las Vegas, but the rest of the family have not. I really think the group will enjoy it.
Will you be spending any time at WDW before or after sailing?
Thanks for the help
Lisa
