Sept 11 3 day Wonder? Am I the only one?

Lisa- no, no WDW time this trip! :( I'll be down there a week from this coming Saturday for a weekend trip to visit a couple of DISer's, so that should be fun!

I only saw one Cirque show in Vegas and that was Zumanity........the adult side of Cirque! ;) It was a great show. My dd's father has seen all of the Vegas Cirque shows and any of those that come through Chicago, plus he's seen La Nouba. He also feels that La Nouba is one of (if not the) best. Another fun thing to experience while you're down there are the fireworks cruises if you can afford it. Great experience!

I typically stay at the Value resorts and love them! I'm not there enough to justify paying for a more expensive room. I'd rather save the money and do something else! LOL Y'all are going to have SO much fun!! How exciting to go on your first WDW trip! One of these days I'll make it to Disneyland, but only when I think that my 4 year old will sit well through a 4+ hour flight! LOL :rotfl2:

I've been busy finishing up the school year :cool1: and simply forgot to check back in. We went to the Cirque show and absolutely loved it. We also ate at Wolfgang Puck's the same night. It was our most memorable meal ever. The food was outstanding, and the service was superb. It was expensive, and we went without the boys.

We would love to participate in the Fish Extenders as well. I may need some clarification when the time comes.

Woo-Hoo more fish extender participants :rotfl:
Hopefully we can get a few more so how about the first week of aug. we clarify how many we have? let me know if this is how it is usually done.
Wolfgang Pucks, what type of food do they have? I have made reservations at Fultons Crab House, but I can easily change it.
My husband thinks I have gone disney crazy!! But it will be worth it when I show him the most amazing trip ever. And considering our first date was a disney movie, he proposed at disneyland, and our honeymoon was at disneyland, you would think he would have figured that out years ago.
Lisa

Hi everyone! I would like to participate in the fish extender fun too. Lisa--La Nuba is a great show!!! My parents bought me a ticket a few years ago. I also love staying at the All-Stars. I agree that you should make ADRs, especially for the popular restaurants and/or the ones that you definitely want to visit. Some of my favorites are: the Crystal Palace (in the MK), Marrakesh (Morocco-Epcot), Le Cellier (Canada-Epcot), Wolfgang Puck Express-DTD Westside), the Earl of Sandwich (DTD-Marketplace), Kona Café (Poly), Brown Derby (Hollywood Studios)

I'm also happy to help if you (or anyone else) has and WDW or DCL questions. I'm an ex-CM and I've visited all 5 Disney theme parks and cruised on both DCL ships.

Is anyone staying at the MCO Hyatt before the cruise? I am fling in late on 9/10, so I decided to stay there the night before…

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions
I made all of my adr's yesterday and I hope I made good choices - let me know what you think
9/5 - Hoop De Review - we arrive at 4:30pm too late to go to park so I thought I would start the trip with a dinner show
9/6 - Teppan Edo lunch - We are doing Dive quest in the evening
9/7 - Mama Melrose dinner- I wanted the Fantasmic plan but was booked
9/8 - Crystal Palace lunch
9/9 - No ADR's just playing it by ear
9/10 - CRT breakfast
9/10 - Fultons Crab House dinner
9/11 -BOARD SHIP woohoo
Are there microwave ovens in the rooms? or is there one available in common areas of the hotel? I was thinking of taking microwave popcorn and other snacks for the kids.
You are all so helpful.
Lisa

No microwaves in the rooms, but there usually are in the food court.

As far as the fish extenders go, we had a cut off of a week before the cruise. You'd be surprised at how many last minute cruiser can show up! :)

Smilingmouse- I'm also flying in on 9/10, but staying with the DISer that I'll be cruising with since he lives in Orlando. Would you be interested in linking your dining reservation to ours since you'll be traveling alone? Just thought I'd ask since I know that I would like someone to offer that for me. :goodvibes It's fine either way.

My DH and I are going without the kids for our anniversary. Never been part of DISers activities. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Welcome Fivepin! Congrats on your anniversary! I'm also going "childless" this trip.............not sure whether I should feel guilty or excited..........hmmmm.......nope, I think I'm most definitely excited! Mommy needs a vacation! :rotfl2: :rotfl: ;)

We don't feel guilty, All 3 of our DS(4,6,8) will be with us on the Magic in October along with my parents.

We would also like to participate in the FE games. Sounds like fun-We have been on 6 Disney cruises and never knew about Disboards until we took the Med cruise last year.:)

I'm getting so excited about the FE exchange! For a second there it looked like it was just me and Lisa and her family participating. I'm glad that others will be joining us! It should be great fun!! If anyone hasn't participated in one before and has any questions, I'm more than happy to help in any way that I can! :goodvibes

Thanks for the offer! That was very nice! :goodvibes: Yes, I am definitely interested in linking my dining reservation with you. Sharing a table with other Disers always makes dinner more fun. :cool1: Which dinner seating do you have? I have the Late seating.

You're welcome! I'm just glad that you didn't think that it was strange of me to offer! :rotfl: We also have the late seating. We have a reservation for Palo on the first night, but that's subject to change (if they availability) depending on our dining rotation. It's my friends first time to go, and he definitely doesn't want to miss AP, and I think that he would like the food at PC. I honestly wasn't impressed with Triton's, and I love fine dining.

Anyway, I'm not sure how to link a dining reservation and don't know if you did. Did you book directly through DCL? I booked through a TA, so either I could give you our reservation number and you can link us, or you can give me yours and I can call my TA. Just let me know! BTW, you're also more than welcome to join us at Palo if you'd like. :goodvibes

Nope, don’t think it’s strange at all. In fact, I’ve done the same thing before. I also booked with a TA (who happens to be my mom, so I talk to her often). I will call her tonight and ask what we need to do to be linked together. If you don’t mind, I would like to take you up on the offer to eat at Polo. I agree with you…Triton’s is my least favorite restaurant for dinner. I’ll PM you my reservation number in just a bit.

Have a great day, everyone!

Here is the latest re: linking dining reservation from my mom (AKA my TA). We need to give each other our names and reservation numbers so our TA’s can call DCL and request that the reservations be linked. Can you PM me your reservation number and name so I can have Mom pass it along to DCL?

Thanks!

Hi, This will be our fourth DCL cruise, we have not been on the Wonder since 2004. It will be myself Patti, my husband Alex, and our son Caden he is six. Also, joining us for their first cruise is my friend Debbie, her husband Scott, and their daughter Abby who is seven. This was a risk taker for Debbie because she has heard, (not from these boards) that DCL is over-rated, and overpriced. I assured her that her cruise in one word will be "Magical". Now, I am little concerned about the threads on the food. Have you read them??? We have always enjoyed the food with exception to the eggs at topsiders!! I have tried on our previous cruises to hook up with Dis boarders. I hope this time it works. Have a magical day!!!

Welcome to the crew! Glad to hear that you will be joining us! Most of the DCL food threads I've read indicate that the food quality gwtting better. I'm like you, I have generally enjoyed the food on DCL.

Thanks for responding!!! Looking forward to this trip, although, it is a short one. My friend Debbie and her husband have never cruised before, so we went for a three day. She was also worried about hurricane season, but two of our cruises were during the season and we had fair winds and following seas both times, besides we get a longer cruise if we get diverted!!! I also read that people on the three day are not into pirate night as much? That's the best part of the trip besides CC. So excited about this trip!!!

Welcome! We look forward to meeting you! I just took my first Disney cruise in May and am addicted, so tell your friends to watch out! :rotfl2:

As far a Pirate Night goes, I would say it was about half and half concerning those that dressed up and those that didn't. Feel free to join the fish extender exchange if you'd like! :goodvibes

I don't know what fish extenders is? I would like to make a door magnet, but I am not sure how? Especially for Debbie for her first cruise!!!

I'm getting ready to leave for work, but once there I will post a link to the magnet thread that's floating around here. :goodvibes I'll also post one about the fish extenders. Basically, it's a gift exchange should you choose to participate. Several of us did on my last cruise and it was so much fun! Fish extenders are things that you hang on the fish outside your stateroom door. It has several pockets and is typically Disney themed. You can either make on yourself if you're crafty (many on here are other than myself! :lmao: ) or you can buy one off of eBay. Then you choose what you want to give. Typically small, inexpensive things. Some people do a little gift each day, other do one for the whole trip. No real rules, other than just having fun! :yay:
