No, this will be my 4th on DCL. I checked the deck plan, and we will be across the hall on opposite sides of the lounge. It looks like you have a nice trip planned. I will be in from Chicago for 10 days at WDW, Universal, etc., prior to the cruise.

Sounds like you've picked a great way to celebrate your 50th. As central FL locals, we have AP's to WDW, Sea World, & Universal. Maybe we will cross paths somewhere before the cruise.

Carol, I keep hearing about the fires in Australia. Hope they are nowhere near you. The map I just saw on the news looked like the whole continent was ringed by fire. I hope they get it under control soon. We have fire season here in FL, too and it scares me way more than hurricane season.

As for your Vegas stop, our favorites list includes the fountains at Bellagio, the show "Le Reve" at the Wynn, Bootleg Canyon Flightlines zipline tour in Boulder City (they will provide transportation to/from the strip) if you're thrill seekers, and maybe a Cirque du Soleil show. If those don't interest you, I'm sure you'll find plenty in Vegas that does.

Welcome Scot! How exciting to be celebrating your 50th birthday as what a wonderful trip you have planned! Ours is very short and simple since we are 1st time cruisers. Hi, I was actually at Disneyland last month. To answer your questions: my 50th is on 8/31, and I will be spending it at Disney World prior to the cruise. My Facebook page is under the name Scot Henderlong, and the picture is me and the Stanley Cup (go Blackhawks).

Yes, the fires out here are shocking this year. They are all in NSW at the moment and I am based in QLD. Every year idiots light fires - just terrible!

The Zipline in Boulder city looks amazing. I will definitely have to do that. The bellagio fountains are awesome - we stayed there last time and spent hours just watching the fountains from our room.

Glad to hear the fires are not near you. The map I saw looked like there were fires all the way around the coast.

I loved Bootleg Canyon Flightlines! The zips were longer than a lot of the others we've been on and the views were amazing. It is my favorite of the zipline tours that we have done so far.

I do not do FB, so sorry, you will not see me there. I really hope that a lot of the conversation will stay right here on the Disboards where it started.

We will be right below your in laws in 8188! We were in 9176 on the Fantasy this past Sept. We love our aft cabins!

This will be our 4th Disney cruise. We have been on the Dream twice and the Fantasy once. We also cruised with Princess this past April. We did their eastern itinerary, Princess Cays, St Maarten, St Thomas, and Grand Turk.

I'm suffering from serious cruise countdown envy right now. The 2 couples who are our closest friends are both cruising in Jan. One couple in 9 days, the other has to wait a whole 29 days. Actually, I'm really happy for both couples, but especially the one at 29 days out since it will be their first cruise!

I know the time will pass quickly. Soon it will be our turn!

We are joining this cruise!!! We are cruising w/ our daughter's BFF's family! Both girls will be celebrating their 10th birthday. So excited to find out that this is a Halloween cruise! I looked at this thread, and didn't see where anyone has started a fish extender group. I'll organize it if anyone would like to join! we've done it on 2 cruises, and will be doing it on a cruise this April. It's so much fun. I just talked w/ DCL about a private meet and greet for the April 5 Fantasy FE group w/ Mickey Mouse. We are also doing a mixology class when we are at sea. I can do this for our FE group if anyone is interested!
