Sept. 11, 2011 It's never too early to Dream

Well, we finally figured out where we're staying the night before the cruise. Since my nephew is now coming with us, in addition to my sis-in-law, her husband, son, daughter and daughter's boyfriend, we knew that we'd have to get at least two rooms if we went with a hotel. Since we stayed at the Country Inn back in 09 and liked it, we had planned to stay there again. But, after seeing that 2 rooms with tax and parking was going to be $400, we decided to try elsewhere. So, Mike and I decided to be generous and use our DVC points to book a 2-BR villa for us all. I'm really excited that we'll all get to stay togther. Not to mention, other than Mike and I, none of the rest of the crew have ever been to Disney, so we're very happy that they'll be getting a little taste of what it's all about. I sent in my request today, hoping to get a room at Animal Kingdom Villas, so we shall see!
I'm really glad to have this finalized since we've been going back and forth on it for a while now! Plus it's step closer to the cruise!

Then we tried it, and now I totally understand. It's definitely well worth it!

I totally agree!! We have had brunch at Palo twice and we are definitely looking forward to doing again on this cruise, just hope we'll be able to get a table since we are only CC silver members.

Pre Cruise Dis Meet Dinner

If anyone staying in the Port area the night before the cruise would like to meet up for dinner at either Fish Lips or Grills (right along the shore and a two minute ride from most area hotels), Let me know. Tell me your preference for restaruants and weather you prefer a 5pm or 6pm dining time. I've never been to Fishlips before but hear great things about it. I've been to Grills once, and it too was fabulous. Here's websites for both:

I'm not a seafood eater, but both places have more than just seafood to eat, and yummy too!! Once I have an idea on numbers, I'll call and make a reservation. :thumbsup2

:dance3:We would definately like to come. We love seafood and pretty much anything else! We normally eat late so 6pm would probably better for us but It's not that big of a deal we can eat early:)

Evening Everyone!

Welcome to Dennis and his family! Nice to see our thread growing!

Judy, my son and daughter-in-law have been to Fishlips a number of times! We are going there the night before the cruise! Not sure what time, I would think the 3 of us would be there around 6!

Brrr, it is cold here this evening....Am so ready for warm weather! It is 19 degrees here at the moment.....:scared1:

Going to try and warm up here under some blankets

Have a good night!

Sue

I'm pretty sure Palo brunch is only offered on the 4 nighters, actually the day at sea.

Thanks Dennis. That's what I thought too, but just wasn't sure.

Yep, Palo brunch is offered on the at-sea day of the 4-night cruises. Mike and I actually did the brunch when we cruised the past September and LOVED it. It was our first time, and I never really understood why everyone made such a big deal about it. Then we tried it, and now I totally understand. It's definitely well worth it! We haven't decided if we're going to try it this time or not since we're cruising with family. But if you're even slightly thinking about it David, then you should definitely go for it!! Believe me, you won't regret it!

Oh we have wanted to do the Palo brunch each and every cruise we've taken. Just never was lucky enough to snag a ressie. I'll be really trying extra hard to get a reservation this time out. Thanks for all of your help!!!

Well, DW and I are only silver members too. Let's hope Dennis all who want a reservation for the brunch can have their wishes come true. I only hope I don't have to race you to the reservation desk once we get on board. I'm sure you will beat me hands down. (Unless you accidently trip or somethin')
:confused3:sad2: :lmao::lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Dw and I are staying at WDW the night before the cruise. This has been something we like to do before we set sail on DCL. I'm thinking of taking DW out to somewhere at WDW we haven't eaten before.:thumbsup2 Trouble is we have eaten just about at every restaurant there. :cool1: I'm sure I'll find somewhere we can go. Anyone have any suggestions?

Where are y'all staying David? Mike and I and the rest of the crew will be at Animal Kingdom Villas!!

I would suggest 'Ohana, just because it's one of the best meals on property, if not the best. But I'm sure you've been there lots of times already! Just couldn't help mentioning it since it's sooooo good!:thumbsup2

We usually stay at the Caribbean Beach Resort. It kinda helps us to get in the cruising to the Caribbean mood. (Plus, I do my little Cruising to the Caribbean dance:dance3: once we get inside our room!! - It ain't pretty folks - and the last time I almost thru my back out!!! :sad2::sad2::sad2:)

Yes we have eaten there at 'Ohana's. You are right it is great food there and we do enjoy the atmosphere there too. Ok, ok, ok, ok you talked me into putting this on my list of places to eat!!!

Good Morning everyone!:yay: We're only 7 months away now!:dance3::banana:

I'm so excited!:woohoo: I only have till March 7th to get as much as I can done. Then it's back to work:thumbsup2 and springs almost here which means we will be very busy!

Happy last day David! :cool1: Must be exciting! I thought with all this extra time I would get a lot done and I have not.:sad2: I've been sitting here reading the Dis and that's pretty much all.popcorn:: I guess I don't make a very good housewife.:confused3 Looks like you'll have a lot of time to be on here too:) Maybe you'll get more done than I have!

Well, time to get my butt moving and start doing something. Have a great day everyone!

Congrats on this being your last FULL time working day David!! :thumbsup2

As of today, my airfare has now been taken care of. GULP!!!!! It hurts the pocket book, but it's done, paid for, and will be the easiest most conveinent way for me to go. :thumbsup2

Congrats, David!!! What a great feeling that must be!!:thumbsup2

I'm glad to know I could twist your arm and get you to add 'Ohana to the list!!!;)

I was looking at someone's post of the 4 day navigator's. Do we have a formal or a semi-formal night while on board? I didn't see one on the navigator's I looked at.

And, thank you all for your nice wishes on my semi-retirement. I just know I'm going to love it. (Now I just have to teach the dog to do DW's hunny do list!!!)

Not formal or semi formal, but there is an Optional Dressup Night, which I tend to treat as the formal or semi formal night on the shorter cruises. :)

WooHoo! It is official! Congrats on being semi-retired!

My DD (12) just ask if there were any girls her age on the disboards going on our cruise. I told her that I thought there were two so far. She is looking forward to meeting them. I think she wasn't too sure about the Edge at first. But we have seen more pics plus the thought of meeting some friends...it is starting to sound better.

What will you be doing 7 months from now? Woo Hoo!Time is flying!
