Sept. 11, 2011 It's never too early to Dream

To all of my Northern fellow cruisers - I just wanted to let ya'll know that we are experiencing some bad weather down here too. Today it is only partly cloudy :sad2: not bright sunshine as usual,:confused3 and - and it might even rain. And - and - and it is only suppose to get up to 75 degrees today!!! (What's up with that!!!)

I must apologize to ya'll for my evil twin who posted that above. Every now & then his ugly head pops up and says some not so nice things. He is a mean, ugly, terrible, and not so nice person. You guys up north are having some very nasty weather. I hope everyone is ok and comes thru this ok. Again ya'll, I am so sorry for what he said.:sad2::sad2::sad2:

Well, looks like DW and I are going ahead and booking an Eastern Caribbean cruise on the Fantasy for June 2012. We were going to wait until on board the Dream to do this in September, but after DW and I talked it over and then we contacted our TA we decided to go ahead and book now. This way we will be sure to get the price, stateroom and deck we want. Like Judy said in an earlier post the Dream is a big hit, and Disney knows the Fantasy will be too. So our TA advised us to go ahead and book our next cruise now.
This will be a belated birthday present for our Granddaughter who will turn 13 on June 7, 2012. (Oh know the terrible teens!!!!!):lmao::lmao::lmao: She is a great kid, smart and she's got a good head on her shoulders. (As you can tell we love her allot!!!):love:princess:

Just got around to checking who all will be on the Dream with us in Sept. DH and I have definitely been dreaming of the Dream and warm weather after all this freezing weather here in Ohio. Sure hope Buckeye Chuck's prediction is right and it warms up soon! We are planning on staying at CSR a couple of nights prior to our cruise to make it a longer vacation. We love Florida.:thumbsup2

Welcome, Teri1! Which part of Ohio are you from? How bad was the storm where you are?

Hi Ragdoll, We are from south-central Ohio in Ross Co. We were lucky and did not get the bad stuff, just rain then high wind then snow. We dodged the ice storm just a few miles north of us! We are just tired of the cold.

Just checking in to welcome all the new additions to the thread. :yay:

It's bitter cold here in GA but nothing like the snow/ice that the rest of the country seems to be experiencing. Hope it all melts VERY soon!

DS3 is so excited about the cruise - he keeps asking when he can go to play in Andy's room!

I would love to book the Fantasy but figure we had better wait and see how everyone likes cruising the Dream first. (How could they not love it??)

I just saw the pics of Andy's Room last night and understand how excited your DS3 must be. It looks fun.

So glad to hear you were one of the lucky ones who didn't get hit hard with that terrible weather up there.:thumbsup2:cool1:

We got pretty lucky with this storm, too. We got about four inches of snow and then an ice storm to top it off. It was bad enough but much worse about 50 miles south of us. I enjoy winter but do get sick of being cold all the time.

Can't think of a better way to celebrate an anniversary than with a DCL cruise! Congrats!

Hi everyone! Other family reporting in!! Me, DW and DD who will be 9 (she would say 9 1/2) :lmao: when we sail. We are doing B2B (9/8-9/11):woohoo: and this one will be our second leg. These will make our 3rd & 4th Disney cruises so far and, of course, our first one on the Dream.

Will be staying at Disney's Port Orleans Riverside for 10 days after our cruise, we stayed at POR for the first time in August/Sept 2010 and loved it, Actually, It's become our new favorite!! Although we are US citizens we will be traveling from Madrid, Spain (been living here for many years)

We would love to participate in the FE as well so please count us in, we have always done it on our previous cruises and it is always one of the highlights of our cruise.

My family and I are all very excited and we look forward to getting to know you all!!!

Is it September yet? :)

Dennis and Family let me be the first to :welcome::welcome::welcome: ya'll to our thread. This is going to be a great time for all of us, and we are glad you are joining us.:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

There are several of us on here doing a B2B. My DW and I are also doing a B2B, with this being our first leg and we are doing the 3 night right after this one. This also will be our 3rd and 4th Disney cruise. Wow it is a small world after all!!! (I don't believe I just said that!!!) :lmao::lmao::rotfl2::rotfl2:DW, myself and our granddaughter will be going on the Fantasy in June 2012. Looking forward to that one too. Again, welcome and have a great time with us all counting down our time until we set sail on the DREAM!!!:woohoo::yay:

Thank you Davidls for your warm welcome!! You are right, we are going to have a BLAST! :woohoo: Just hope our silver CC level will let us book Palo brunch as well as a table for an adult only dinner at Remy:cool1: We re also planning to sail to the Eastern Caribbean on the Fantasy in 2012:banana:, but not sure if we will book our cruise one of these days or will wait to book it onboard the Dream in order to get the discounted price + OBC. Anyways, we might do both things :) Book it now in order to get the cabin we want and then re-shop it while on board the Dream to get all the benefits :rotfl:

You are welcome Dennis.
DW and I talked about booking our Eastern Caribbean cruise while on board the Dream too. But we got to thinking about how popular the Dream is and the Fantasy is bound to be just as popular. So we contacted our TA and she suggested we go ahead and book now so we would get the stateroom, location, and deck we wanted. Then when we get on board the Dream in September we can talk to Disney's agent on board to see if we can take advantage of the 10% discount. It's something you might think about.

:welcome: I've added your family to the FE list. If and when you know your stateroom number, pm me that info along with your email. I'll be emailing out the master list closer to our cruise date.

Not September yet, but Janurary just flew by!!!! And here we are already well into February. I think the next several months are going to fly by pretty quickly too.

I've registered myself and my two youngest boys for a family Weekend camp in May. This is for a camp I normally take them to each summer. It's located on a small Island in an inlet off Lake Ontario. Beautiful place, although nothing like Castaway Cay, except maybe for the dunes. On the one side is our lake, but if you walk the 20 minutes across, you end up on the shore of Lake Ontario. Depending on the time of year, that space between the 2 sides can seem like a tropical paradise (minus the palm trees), or a desert. We love it though! I haven't been the past two summers as we have taken 2 weeks holidays in the fall. Being self employed it would have been very difficult to take yet another week off in the summer. BUT this year, I'm going to do it. I miss that camp, and the families that go. My littlest one will be spending 11 days there for res camp. He did the Winter camp last month which was just for 2 nights, and he was quite nervous about it but had a blast. But try and tell him 11 nights this summer, without mommy or daddy, and he starts saying he doesn't want to go. So I'll take him to the weekend Family camp there, and then to the 6 day summer family camp, and then I think he'll be fine for the 11 night res camp.
Now my dilemma is, his 8th birthday takes place during that 11 night res camp. THIS cruise is his birthday surprise. So when do I tell him about the cruise? Before he goes to camp, After he comes home from camp, or while he's AT camp? I don't like the later as I don't think thats a good idea to share with other campers, plus I won't be there to take pictures of his reaction. So maybe I'll send him a card telling him that his BIG surprise is at home? But then that might make him homesick and want to come home sooner. See my dilemma? So maybe I should just tell him before he goes, that we'll celebrate when he gets home (the camp celebrates with him there too and makes him a huge cake).
Anyways, lots to look forward to before Sept. which will make Sept come a lot sooner, I think :thumbsup2

Thanks for the welcome and thanks so much for adding us to the FE list, I already have our stateroom number as well as all the info you may need, I will PM it to you ASAP. :flower3:

Hope everyone had a great weekend. As for me, I'm very excited I ran my first 10K yesterday morning , I did it in 63 minutes which was pretty good since I am just recovered from a foot injury that lasted 19 months.

You guys have a great week!
