hi all, ive been lurking for a while hoping i would be able to join you all on this fab cruise and i can now excitedly confirm we booked today
:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

it will be myself sarah, dh brian, dd beth age 9 and our newest princess
dd ellie 7 weeks, this will be her first introduction to our disney obsession.
we live in glasgow,scotland.

this is our first ever ever cruise, so having spent the last 4 years going to
disneyworld we thought we would of course make it a disney cruise:wizard:

looking forward to getting to know you all and making new friends:hug:
Hi - Welcome Aboard
As for the shows, I know this is sacrilege, but on our 2nd Wonder cruise we skipped all of the shows. We had seen them before, and they were very good, but we decided we'd rather spend our time at the pool, in the Rainforest, and at the lounges. We'll be picking and choosing on this one, too, I think.
We did that too Pat..We missed all of them except Toy Story as that was new on our cruise. We missed them all on the last years...We had a great time just chilling by the pool on those lovely comfy huge pillow things looking at the stars :cloud9:
So, I've been watching eBay, picking up some dresses for this trip, and one of my purchases came in today.

OMG!!! It's perfect for Villian's Night!! Think homage (with a silent "h" and long "o") to Ursula (my favorite villian)!

No, it does not have tentacles, but it is the perfect shade of purple, with the most wonderful detailing! (Yes, let's face it, I'm a straight chick with an inner drag queen screaming to get out!!) I still have some poundage to lose before it actually looks good (as opposed to waaay too much like Ursula), but that's okay.

This is my nefarious plan, you see. I get all these excellent clothes and get Dennis all hyped up about dressing up ("Guess what honey, you get to wear a tux! Twice!"), so that come h#!! or high water, we have to go! House payments be d@mned, I've got clothes to wear!! (See, what did I tell you - inner drag queen. I think I'll call her Lucretia.)
Sounds great Pat:) Looking forward to seeing it.
I'm holding off till much closer to get my clothes. I know it will be one mad rush.

Just booked myself (solo) in one of the new-category-discounted-guarantee Oceanview cabins.

I sailed the EBTA last year and look forward to seeing more of Madeira and then the Eastern Caribbean part of our cruise, especially Tortola.

Hi and welcome. It is just me and my husband John. We were also on last year's WBTA and just had to do it again!!!!:dance3:

Some of the "non- disney" shows (assuming you mean not stageproduction musicals) were fab on the Panama cruise. I LOVED Circurious and the crew talent show!

We both loved Circurious too. Just amazing.

Hi Lynne and welcome aboard. Tortola is a really beautiful island. Not a lot to do there as yet, but lots of great photo opportunities and lovely friendly people.

Can someone tell me if i book this cruise when i must pay it? So we can changes it before pay time if i don't get free.

Hey you guys have been very chatty overnight, lots to catch up on :lmao:

The advert they have for this weeks or next weeks episode is sooooo funny. DH & I :lmao: everytime we see it.

I saw the adverts for it in Hollywood Studios at Christmas, could you let me know what day and channel it's on on sky please :)

I was late dining last time. I started off going to the late show, but then switched to going before dining. After dinner I liked to sit in sessions

We love going to sessions to and listening to Tim. He is a lovely chap and hope he is back this year. It is such a relaxing atmosphere and a great way to end the evening :thumbsup2

But late is better than early as I like to chill in the evenings and not have to rush to dress for dinner .. this next time we may not be in such a rush to see the cabaret style shows ( especially repeat acts ) so on the days when it isn't a Disney show we may stay by the pool later and relax a bit more. This is the plan ! Some of thsoe cabaret - style acts I would not rush to see again, but I really hope they have a performer of the calibre of Jodi Benson again .. she was incredible !!

I think they should have Paige O'Hara this year, Jodi mentioned her a few times during her act

Claire ... last time they had a special pin for the Eastbound and a special pin for the westbound. Each one had half of the Magic on them and they fitted together to make the whole picture. I will take a photo of the WB one and show you if you like. All of the Eastbound merchandise was greatly reduced when we got on board, and by the last few days of our cruise the WB merchandise was reduced too.

I managed to get my ladies WBTA t-shirt for half price at the end of the cruise, but was involved in the scrum in the first night getting Stevie's t-shirt so he could wear it during the holiday

They also had all the usual suspects with that logo on .. fridge magnets, T-shirts, sweatshirts, Christmas tree decorations, shot glasses etc etc. Lots to attract the shopaholic and needless to say I bought most of them !!

I always buy a fridge magnet and christmas decoration from every city we visit, so needless to say I had to have the WBTA ones too :rotfl2:

As well as pins, there was all manner of WBTA to buy, key rings, magnets, cups, bookmarks, t shirts and lots more!

As Sarah mentioned some lines were reduced toward the end of the cruise, plus several items left over from the Med cruises were available at reduced prices.

SW

Hi tablemate !! Can't wait to meet you in 6 months :woohoo::woohoo: We had done the Dover repo cruise last summer, but didn't get the t-shirt at the time, but picked it up on the WBTA for DH for just $9 - bargain !!

I'm on late dining and will certainly be skipping some of the non Disney evening shows, some of them were certainly not to our tastes, although plenty of folks seemed to enjoy them,

Our star act was Jodi Benson, voice of the Little Mermaid, while on the EBTA they had

Justin Guarini.....

Now all non US Disers are thinking WHO?

SW

We skipped a few of the acts as we had seen ventriloquists, magicians etc before and it was lovely sitting up on deck 10 with a glass of wine watching the sunsets before getting ready to go down to dinner.

OMG!!!!! I just realised this time in 6 months we will be in Barcelona!!!!! :dance3: :dance3: So excited!

(Ignore my ticker, it's a day out as I changed my flight)

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Well of course there is now a American Idol experience at Disney Hollywood studios...... and um ........ and American idol contestant Jennifer Hudson was once a singer for Disney Cruise Line ......... and Um......... Justin Guarini once went to see a Disney film ....... And um......OK I admit it I'm out!

You win Sarah

LOL

SW

Now Jennifer Hudson would be a great act to see :thumbsup2

Well as a super Disney fan you won't hear me complaining if we get Jodi again, we saw the early show, then shot upto Topsiders for a quick dinner then went back to see her again, then rushed out to get a photo and autograph, Jodi was so lovely, after signing LOTS of Autographs and meeting Lots of people she went up to the pirates deck party and was still happy to chat with people.

Love Jodi!!!

SW

She can definitely come back again, I had goosebumps and a lump in my throat when she sang Part of Your World. Amazing :worship:

i have already booked a cruise for August 2012 and what to change it to the TA so, i get the good deal.

DCL website says 75 days for non suites, i make that 27th june?

Last year it was May as it was 4 months out for the special itineraries. Seems like they must have changed that this year.

I've just logged into the DCL site and copied the undernoted from my reservation:-

Payment in full is due on May 13, 2011.
Begin online check-in on May 28, 2011.
Start booking onboard fun and Port Adventures on May 28, 2011. Your vacation must be paid in full.

MAY? i thought it was june?!!

May here, too. Cancellation fees don't kick in til 90 days out, but payment is due at 120 days. Someone told me (probably here) than DCL has started this for the longer cruises.

We only saw one show on the Dream MV, the ship had so much to explore we didn't want to waste time IYKWIM. I knew the Villians show is on the WBTA so we were ok about missing that, we also have missed the Golden Mickeys on both previous cruises - I thought it was still on the Magic but it appears not!

Yep, same here - 13th May for us too! I think if you've booked direct with DCL then it is definately 13th May but maybe other TA's have extended dates. :confused3

Welcome aboard, Lynne! :yay: We were recently out your way... have family that live in Athens, and she works at the hospital in Huntsville. Our daughter keeps asking to go see her cousins again, so I think we may come back in June.

The TA we rebooked with set our's at May 3... probably to give them buffer time.

Do they publish a list of entertainment prior to the cruise? Just curious... Also does anyone know when the dates come out for the Mickey's not so scary halloween party.. We have never done this party before and thought it would be fun this year.

I don't think MNSSHP dates will be released until Octobers hours are release at end of this month, so maybe early-mid April?

You can work out which dates the party will be on in September though. Here is a link to September park hours: http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/hours/sep11.cfm?requesttimeout=1000

On the days when MK shuts at 7pm - that will be when MNSSHP is. :thumbsup2 Although that is not 100% guaranteed, it is unlikely to change.

I am so upset as it looks like we will miss it, we only have 3 nights in WDW after the cruise. :sad2:
