Are there good deals at the Swarovski store in Gibraltar? We found some great deals on Disney pieces when in Paris - much cheaper than at home in the US!

Well we have made an unheard of and earth-shattering decision this morning. We have decided not to stay in WDW after the cruise for the 2 days before we fly home. Instead, we are going to hire a car, and drive up the coast to St Augustine, a place I have always wanted to visit. We have booked this hotel which looks amazing.

http://www.westcotthouse.com/index.html

We will be in WDW in July anways, and because we were only planning on going to MNSSHP, and apparently we will miss the dates for that anyway, we decided to broaden our horizons. Has anyone ever been to St Augustine? Any recommendations or "must sees". Thanks.

OMG that is sacrilege lol :rotfl: I checked out the link, it looks gorgeous.

The attractions tab on the webside page looks really good with lots of ideas.

Just makes the WBTA even more fabulous when you get to do something exciting at the other end too :thumbsup2

Should I feel like we owe it to them to stay? Is there any way to go back and try to coax some OBC out of them or say I can cancel and get it elsewhere?

I emailed our TA this morning telling him about the Expedia deal and inquiring whether they had any incentives, as I felt we were leaving a lot of credit on the table. Right now we are only getting the $50 Visa OBC.

We'll see what he says.

I have had an email back from Dolphin World and if we can get 10 or more interested parties we can do this tour for £15 pp. They cam also do it at 10:15 which I think was the better option for those wanting to go up the cable car in the afternoon and of course stop off at Morrissons ( Mary !! )

Thanks for organising Sarah and also for getting the priorities right lol :rotfl2:

I love that your cats are called MGM and Epcot .... they are really cool names.:thumbsup2

Can I just add in that my two mad little yorkshire terriers are called Tod and Copper after my favourite disney film Fox and The Hound..... hence the disname :rotfl:

Thanks.... total disney freaks... can't wait to met all of you.:upsidedow

Oh you have no idea lol.... can't wait to meet you all too :cool1:

OMG!!!! It was totally worth it. We did it 4 times. It was soooooo cool.

I can't wait to go on it with the kids in August when we do the double dipper

Definitely a bargain to be had. Stevie bought me some earrings in Rome last year and all european shops charge the same. I think the earrings were about 10 euros cheaper in Gibraltar with the duty free discount.

They do all the lovely disney figurines :thumbsup2

Could someone let me know if my ticker at the bottom of my message is showing. I can see the "DVC since 1996" but not the countdown to our cruise. Can't figure out why I can't see it.

Thanks!

Bella will be staying with an older lady who does boarding and doggie day care in her home - which she attends every day. :rolleyes1

Cheesy, I know. But it started as a puppy and we haven't brought ourselves to pull the plug on it because we don't want to crate her all day long while we're at work.

She is good about not chewing on things or being destructive (except with her toys), but we are apprehensive to leave her alone for 8-10 hours to her own devices - and to come home to chewed up furniture!

Neville (the one with the mohawk cut) is going to have to start going to day care to get him ready for boarding. He's only stayed with my parents, b/c he has such severe separation anxiety. He does okay during the day as long as he's crated with Luna, but overnight - I think he'd fall apart.

We crate all the "kids" when we go out. Left to their own devices, they'd be running with scissors and playing with matches. They'd burn down the house, and blame it on each other. :sad2:

So far we have 13 interested Dolphin watchers ... so we qualify for the £15 rate. Is anyone else interested ??? Here is the link:

Count us in, too, please! Two adults - Pat and Dennis. Thanks for organizing this!

Karen, what's the latest word on the t-shirt design? Are we still looking for something simpler?

:yay: :yay: :yay: I want to see your doggie pics and in return i'll bore you with pics of my two fur babies.

We all need to get together and show pics of our furry family...;)

I think we definitely need to find a time to share pet pics! Plus it's another excuse -- I mean, opportunity, for libations! :drinking1 (Because we just don't have enough of those!)

Please add us to the list:
ADULTS - Curt and Mandy
One child (Sarah) - will they still honor the child rate of £10.00 ?
One infant (from their website, I believe she is free --- will be 15 months - but I think still need to list her for capacity purposes??)

Conditions of Carriage:

I've never been Sarah but it looks fab. :thumbsup2

I am so sad that we will miss MNSSHP as I was really looking forward to doing it again. I don't know what we will do now as we won't have park tickets.

I was really hoping there would be one on the Sunday evening ..... apparently they are on Friday and Tuesday in September. :sad2:

Thanks.... total disney freaks... can't wait to met all of you.:upsidedow

"Hi, I'm Pat, and I'm a Disney freak. And so is my DH, Dennis."

Here's the proof. We couldn't have an actual Disney wedding - too expensive for our tastes, and Dennis wanted to get married in a little church in Orlando that he loves. It was just my family and a couple of friends, and we did add some Disney touches. Dennis (who insisted on wearing a tux - love this guy!) had a bow tie and cummerbund with Mickeys on them and I had Mickey head earrings and a necklace with little Mickey heads. We all went to dinner at 1900 Park Fare - yes, a character meal for our reception - and we had a special-order cake with a few of our own touches.

This was our cake. The piping on the side matched the embellishment on my dress. Look closely at who "taste-tested" it. That was a nod to our dogs.

And this is us. (That's my dad in the background going, "Cut the cake, already!") You can sort of see Dennis's tie and cummerbund. Oh, and I made my dress, hat, and purse.

See, what did I tell you? Disney Freaks.

You certainly had a lovely wedding!! I am impressed that you are such a talented seamstress and designer. As for me, I can't even sew on a button as my both my GM an DM were expert seamstresses!! I never even had a "store bought" dress until I was a teenager. I would just point to an outfit in a magazine and one or the other would make it for me. No incentive to learn to sew!!

Love the photos Pat. You looked like you were having a fabulous time.

Your cake is amazing, as is your dress. I would love to be able to sew dresses. :worship::worship: Sounds a lovely Wedding

Thank you everyone! We did have a great time.

Noel, I actually used patterns for everything. I really only started sewing about 10 years ago. My DM also was a fabulous seamstress - my DB and I never had "store bought" clothes. My prom dresses (and everything else, for that matter) were just like you said - I pointed to a dress in the store and Mom made it. She can't sew any more, due to macular degeneration, otherwise she probably would have made my dress. Funny thing though, I used a Vogue pattern for the dress, and at one point couldn't figure out part of the instructions. I called Mom and told her about it, and her response was, "I told you Vogue patterns are terrible!" Thanks, Mom, but it's a bit late now!! The fabric was silk and even on sale, it was more than I had ever paid for fabric. I laid out the pattern and it took me two days to work up the nerve to cut into it. The best moment, though, was when Mom was helping me pack my dress to go home and was looking at the seams and all the work I put into it. She said, "You did a great job on this. I'm really proud of you." Coming from her, that meant a lot.

Sorry, didn't mean to ramble on about that!

You weren't rambling at least for me. Your story brought back fond memories for me of both my GM and DM. My first prom dress was also a Vogue design!!

Both my GM and DM would make their own patterns and use a dressmaker form to make outfits. I remember them even making coats in the 1960's from that faux fur for all of my siblings and myself. Every skirt, jacket, pants and dress they made for me was lined. Boy, it that hard to find these days. Plus the quality material or sewing in most clothing lines is just not there.

GM worked for a dress designer in Michigan when women would copy the Paris fashions each year. She made a very nice living working from home. I remember often going to Home Silk in Los Angeles with them and both of them complaining about the decreasing quality of the zippers and thread!

My mother just enjoyed both sewing and knitting even though she worked full time. It is just not a skill that I ever inherited. You must have been very proud while you were basking in her approval.

Great photo Pat. Lovely cake.

What a lovely dress. I have a sewing machine that comes out....mmm....well not very often :)

My dogs are named Disney names too.
