*Sept 10th 2011 WB Transatlantic* - From Spain to Space Mountain - Part 6

Yes and no. I MISS my roommate and my table 23 peeps. On the other hand, looking forward to cruising with my dh and friends in just a FEW weeks.

Great photo's & video Sarah :) Thanks for the memories:D

Is anyone else suffering post holiday blues too?

Michelle....been having the "blues" since coming back! DH surprised me yesterday and said maybe we should take a 3/5 day Bahama cruise early next year! I'm shocked! He won't admit it, but obviously he's having withdrawal symptoms too! lol He had been researching the cruises yesterday afternoon and found a 5 day cruise in early May he thought we'd be interested in. I was floored but extremely thrilled (even though it is MY job to research trips!!! lol) Keep your fingers crossed for us! :thumbsup2

Definitely .... and the thought of a dull and dreary British winter ahead is doing nothing to life my spirits :sad2:

Yes Michelle I am!!! It didn't hit me for couple if weeks but feel very miserable now :(

Wish my DH would do something like that to surprise me .... he always waits for me to do it and I am determined not to book any more long haul trips until my house is sorted. Normally I would have booked next year's trip by now not not this time :sad1::sad1::sad1:

Although before I get too much sympathy off you all, I should mention that I have booked 3 days in Venice at the end of October to celebrate DH's 50th birthday. He doesn't know ;);););)

We've just put back our May trip to September so now almost a year to wait instead of just over 6 months :( never mind we'll be able to do house things too!!

Have a lovely time in Venice. I would love to go there one day looks very romantic.

Is anyone else suffering post holiday blues too?

Today was my first day at work. I had still holiday last week when I got home from WDW. Now I must face reality and hope that we can meet each other in 2013 on the WBTA as it comes.

I'm not quite an airplane nerd but it was definately one of the highlights of cruise for me too

Yes Michelle I am!!! It didn't hit me for couple if weeks but feel very miserable now :(

Annemarie

I didn't see the airplanes, but now I seen the video I know what I missed. I hope on a second change in 2013

Finally back from dealing with Lake house issues. Ways to far behind to catch up. Did I miss anything important? If so, pls PM me.

I will try to post some pics from our visit to Papenburg and the cruise this week.

Also suffering from post-cruise blues here and hoping to hear about 2013 dates soon.
For us one of the best cruise experiences was meeting so many blue lanyard wearers - was wonderful having so many friends on board and always having people to chat with around the ship.

I'm really suffering from the Post Cruise Blues!!!!! At the moment it feels like it was 3 months ago, not a few weeks!

It's been a stressful few days, Saturday we got the results back from the lab regarding Stamford's two lumps...unfortunately they came back as Malignant tumors - the same as the other two he has had removed over this past year. I have been so upset as it has travelled through his body, the first two were on his ear & top of the head, whereas these are both on his back leg. :guilty: I have just dropped him at the vets this morning to have surgery to remove them. They also remove 3cms surrounding the lumps to make sure they take everything and sadly this will mean they remove a lot of his leg muscle along with one of the lumps. :sad1: Now I have to sit and wait for them to call after the operation to let me know how it went....it's going to be another long day!

Yesterday Lee (DH) had a minor operation (dental) and when he woke from the anaesthetic he was experiencing chest pains, they gave him an ECG and a chest x-ray and thankfully he was given the all clear and allowed to come home. I could have done without the extra stress but am glad he is at home with me today, even if he is just resting.

I have a mini van so certainly could collect a few on the way - unfortunately for YOU, Hazel & Annie, it doesn't have waterwings:rotfl2:

Can I just say - for me, a 7 day cruise leaving and returning to the same port is now easypeasy to plan for!

Oh, my gosh, Claire! YOU ARE having a time of it. I hope both man and dog recover painlessly. (Just unpacked my fe & scrappy things and found that cute Ursula bowling pin! Thank you so much! )

Shout outs to Birkner & KarenTan for the Ursula pins too - they're AWESOME!

Those of you who know Happy Goofy from previous cruises (she wasn't on this one) - Charlotte went in the hospital for "minor" surgery over a week ago and is still there. Please keep her in your thoughts.

Happy Day, all!

Claire.....so sorry to hear about this! You go and have a great time on the cruise and then come home to such bad news. Hope all goes well with your pet's surgery and that your husband  gets better soon! Hope you get nothing but good news from here on out!

Claire - so sorry to hear about all the troubles with Stamford, poor thing. I hope the news is good and he is on the mend very soon. Hope Lee is able to rest up as well :)

Linda- I am a fairly good swimmer!!!!! Lol

Claire, I completely missed your post about Lee and Stamford. Must have come up as I posted so never checked back.

That was scary for Lee. Glad all is ok now.

Sorry about Stamford. I know you have been so worried. I hope his op goes ok and that they don't have to take away as much as you fear.

{{hugs}}

That's Dennis' excuse, too. Of course, this is the man who can't work the tv and cable remotes, so it's probably just as well that I do the planning.

Oh, Claire! You have had a rough time. Give Lee hugs for us and tell him we're glad he's okay. And a hug for you, too.

As for Stammy, with all we've been through with George, and two others before him (cancer, kidney failure, heart problems) I can honestly say I know how you feel. Poor, poor puppy! :sad1: And you, too! He's your baby, and it's so hard to have him go through this. I hope it's localized again, and this is the last of it. You will be in our thoughts and prayers, sweetie.

Thank you all for your kind wishes, it's been a long stressful day but thankfully my puppy boy is home with us now. :)

The operation was more complicated than they thought due to the locations of the lumps and they surgery took twice as long (not to mention twice the cost!!) it was 90 mins but they also x-rayed his chest and lungs and used the ultrasound to scan his liver - all of which were clear. :cool1:

He has two 5 inch wounds which look very sore and we need to keep him calm and resting for two weeks whilst they heal!!!! No walks, play, climbing stairs, jumping on the sofa etc...he is not going to be amused when he starts to feel better. Anyone who has ever met a Boxer will know what a hard job this will be!

We are taking him in on Thursday so they can check them, I doubt the lab results will be back by then but I will let you know when we hear. Thanks for all your messages.:hug:

Pat - thank you, it must be a tough time for you & Dennis right now, I can not begin to imagine how you feel being that Stamford is our first dog. :sad1: Hugs to you both.

HI Claire,
I hope that the recovering of Stamford went well. I know what it is about a Boxer, as you know, to keep them calm en resting. I hope you found a way to do that.
And also all the best for Lee.

Yeah, good luck with that one! I always wonder if the vets leave the room and snicker when they tell a client that. Any time I've had to keep one of mine "quiet" while they healed it lasted like, a day, and then they were roaring around again. The best I could do was keep an eye on them and hope they didn't tear out stitches.

Thanks. We're doing okay. It comes and goes. I went to the kennel where we board the "kids" today to let them know about George. When I told the owner, she started crying, which told me I've definitely been leaving them in good hands. She also lost one of hers recently so we had a good cry together. It's really amazing that he lasted as long as he did. He was the equivalent of 90 years old, so we had a good long run with him. I'd have taken more time if I had the option, but I'm grateful to have had him for so long. He was such a goofy old dog.

I know he really missed his "sister," Zoe, when she passed. She used to give him such a hard time, being that he was the dopey little brother (even though he out-weighed her by 30 lbs). But he adored her.

I'm not a great believer in an afterlife or heaven for humans, but I'm absolutely convinced that it exists for dogs. So he gets to be with Zoe again, and maybe if I'm lucky, I'll get to go to dog-heaven, too. :littleangel:
