Noel - I can be responsible for bringing Benedryl (tablets - I have LOTS) and also a few extra allergy meds (I have some Zyrtec generic and also some Allegra D extras) for those who may need them. Sometimes a different climate/flora/etc. can really set off allergies you didn't know you had!!

Liesbeth, thank you for offering. Someone has tentatively offered to be the group leader but has to check with a fellow traveler. If they decide to do it, you are elected!

Laura has made it to Brussels

Right now we have two options Boston and Pittsburg. Had do some deep searching to find those. Our problem is that because we are flying buddy passes we have to fly on Delta planes only not planes operated by Air France or anything like that so it really limits our choices. I would hate to have to buy a full fare ticket now but if we have no choice then we will.

Keep in mind one thing (One of my friends called on this) what you guys see when you go to sites like Expedia, 1800flyeurope or anything like that is you are seeing availability on what they are trying to sell and they always try to oversell. When our flight attendant friend looks on her site she see what is really there and how many standby are already on the list. So like the flight from Cinci is not technically oversold as of Saturday it still had like 5 seats to sell but there were 13 of us on the standby list and we were like number 11 and 12. So very little chance of getting on that flight that day.

On the plus side. We got all of our packing done yesterday except for a few last minute items. I get through today and tomorrow and then let the adventures begin.

So I bought my ticket several months ago for Air Europa, but through CheapO tix. I've never done that before - I hope it doesn't mean were first in line to get bumped if they oversell??

I'm sure this info is somewhere on this board in the vast amount of comments, but I'm hoping for a quick answer: What are the "tunnels" like in Gibraltar? Dark? Long? Before I decide to tour them, I wanted to have an idea of what to expect. I never thought I was claustrophic until I toured a submarine--and realized that I didn't like the feeling of being trapped.

Dis Navigator Status

John and I think the Dis Navigator is about 90% done. We are going over it page by page to be sure everything is right.

We want to put out versions where people can either print the whole Dis Navigator or the Dis activities only. Plus, we want to be sure if works well on our Windows and Android phones. DD has the iPhone 4 so we will try to send to her to see how it looks.

Hope to have a first pass for changes/corrections etc. by about 6PM California time to post. It will be in a PDF format to view.

I am going to post this on FB as I am sure others are wondering as well.

Safe travels to everyone setting off in the next few days, gotta say I'm a tiny bit jealous but only because I'm still stuck at work til Friday instead of lounging in the Spanish sun!
It's going to get real quiet on here the next few days so I think us people who aren't leaving til Saturday need to stick together and keep each other sane. Otherwise I'll just end up talking to myself on here. Hazel, annemarie, dan - are you up to the challenge of keeping me sane til Saturday?!

Almost completed with packing. This will be our first 3+ day trip with our 10 month old. Mommy = 1 bag....Daddy = one smaller bag....baby = 2 full bags, carry on, and stroller. Something is seriously out of wack!

I don't think it matters which Terminal you arrive at, it all dumps out at the one international luggage area. We arrived at Terminal 1 last time and once you get your luggage and go through customs and pass by the automatic doors into the place where people wait for arriving passengers there are a few ATMs and signs for parking, bus, and coffee places. Make sense? Easy to spot if you just follow the crowd out of the luggage area, there really is only one exit.

Thanks! That makes sense. I figured there would be something available. Are there any ATM brands (can't think of what else to call it) that I should avoid? Around here there are some "independent" ATM's (like in the Walmart parking lot) that aren't associated with any bank and charge outrageous fees for their use.

I don't leave till early Friday morning. I still have two shifts at work--tonight and Wednesday night. Then, I will officially consider myself "on vacation."

Not sure what the rules are in Spain, but should I plan to have some euros to tip the van driver? We plan to get the euros at an ATM at the airport.

Since we are the first to arrive, we'll keep a lookout for the others. Do you have a list of who we should be watching for?

Just had to comment on this one. Our youngest DD Samantha's first cruise was when she was 6 months old. We traveled with a stroller, diaper bag, 3 full bags each, 3 carry ons, camera/video bag and a car seat!! This was back in 1986 when you had to dress to the nines every night on a cruise!! The waiters loved her as they miss their own children!! She was spoiled rotten!!

I wasn't so impressed with JFK Terminal 4 (for Singapore Airlines) food options, especially after security.

Check your carrier; as an international flight, good possiblity of meals being served. We had dinner and a morning snack (pasta or fried rice - not eggs & things) for our overnight flight JFK - Germany.
