Great recap as always Lynne. :thumbsup2

I hope all of those still waiting get the cabin assigned soon! It must be driving you all crazy. :guilty:

It's been an interesting 12 hours here, we suspect Lee has broken his middle toe! :upsidedow Poor thing is in agony but i've not stopped laughing. :rotfl2: He was playing with the dogs when he got in from work last night and chased one of them who playfully ran off with his shoe, as he ran through the doorway he kicked the door frame. The best thing about it was I was filming it on my iphone at the time. :lmao: :lmao: I don't think it will ever make YouTube though as he used some not very polite language as he rolled around in pain. :rotfl: It is very bruised & swollen this morning. :guilty:

I have been running around after him ever since so i'm not all bad for laughing. ;) Although I am beginning to think i'm jinxed, my sister broke her little toe two weeks ago and my mum broke her little finger last week.....I just hope it's not me next!!!!!
[/QUOTE]

I have done the same thing twice. About all you can do is, put a cotton ball or smaller between the toes and tape them togerther, it makes it more stable and not hurt quite so bad when you walk. The good news is, he has a little time to recoop. before the trip.:crutches::crutches: Hope all goes well with him.

Is anyone doing the Santa Maria Galleon tour? I am booking this for us as a private tour and was wondering how many others were doing this as well from our group.

Thanks,

HI

Thanks for reminding me about this .... I just looked it up on Trip Advisor and it looks really good. We may well do this in the morning ..... I love old ships ( even replicas ) and it would be an experience to sail on a wooden vessel like this. ( and the crew wear period clothing ... bonus !! )

Margaret, it was a long time ago, but I still remember "trying" to teach my older son to drive. I was certain that I would be the first mom in history who was killed while teaching her child to drive. Well, we are both still here--thank goodness. Steve is 37 now, and I still keep my brake foot heavy on the floor when I ride with him as a passenger.

Surprisingly, my younger son Kevin is the best driver in the family. He basically taught himself by driving a riding lawnmower.

Best of luck with the lessons.

Thanks for that, at 22 DS decided he was going to drive, so purchased a car 3 weeks ago... he's a big lad, and he has his test in 3 weeks. And it would be so nice if he passes and can drive before we go away, so it's all very intense. But it's funny how siblings can be so different, I think DD will not be stressie like her brother

Yes I uploaded them to photobucket but if you wanted to print them I can email the file directly so it's the original size. If you or anyone would like the original full sized pictures just pm your email address and I will send it! :)

That design is great, I will PM you for the artwork, it seems we will be packing lots of different tshirts:dance3::dance3:.... what we are going to have

bought some clothes for the cruise today, and was cheered up in the process by finding out i can fit a medium in gap. havent bought anything in medium for years......

congrats :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 what a lovely feeling that must be, I bet you end up buying lots more in your new size... enjoy

Hi Sarah,

Are you going to book it privately or through Disney?

PS..don't forget the wine and honey cake that is included. LOL

thanks, Aunt Lynn. Pease include me in your plans. It sounds lovely. As I do not have 10 posts yet, hopefully this will fly. Jean

I will book it privately likely as DCL trip will be more expensive for the same thing ... 30 euros per person isn't bad at all. I don't think I will like the wine though .. it is very sweet if I recall.

I will have to try the wine. I will try anything once :thumbsup2 I am calling them on the 17th to confirm my ressie with them. At that time, she will be able to tell me if I can go on the morning or afternoon one. She is waiting for DCL to decide if they are going to charter the whole boat for the morning tour or not. The lady is very sweet and speaks english well. I think her name is Marciella or something similar.

hi sarah, if you dont mind me asking where did you find it to book it privately, we wanted to do this but it was 95.00 dollars each with disney which we thought was a bit expensive sounds like its cheaper to book it ourselves, thanks sue

Well, last night I attempted to finish my door magnets only to find that my printer does not like the new magnet paper I bought and I couldn't get any of the pages to feed into the printer. So back to Walmart to buy the same magnet paper I used to begin with, and hopefully I will have the finished by the weekend.

Oh no, poor Lee! I think you ought to wrap your house in bunting Claire - protect those little tootsies before the cruise!

I had trouble with the second batch of magnet paper I bought too, I got it working eventually though by feeding it one at a time and really pushing it in until the roller picked it up and pulled it through.

Thanks Liz, he has just got home from work and is laying on the sofa resting it as it is throbbing. :guilty:

hugz for Lee  Why do we laugh when other people hurt themselves ... it's a weird reaction don't you think? I looked it up and this is one persons point of view:

Why is it that every time someone gets hurt it's funny? Unless there is a serious injury just about everyone laughs at the pain of others. If you see someone walking down the street and stub their toe, or trip and fall into a puddle of murky water, odds are we won't help first, we'll giggle.

Even cartoons are based primarily on the comical nature of pain. The Roadrunner constantly blows up the Cayote while Tweety manages to nearly kill Sylvester every day to our great delight. So what is it that makes us enjoy this so much? Are we all cold hearted by nature? Or perhaps deep down we are effected so much by pain that we must react in a way that relieves the stress of what we see. It could be a vast array of different things and I am sure that there would be many different answers if enough interviews were to be made.

Could it be that we are trained to find pain funny because of cartoons we see as children? Is it sort of a mild brainwashing, or hypnosis that we receive from spending hour upon hour in front of the TV absorbing these things? I'm not sure, though it is a proven fact that what we experience as children makes us into who we are as adults. That being said I am sure that seeing violence portrayed as a comical thing when we are children causes us to react at least in part the way we do toward it as adolescents and adults.

That's quite interesting....although I think in my case it's just because i'm a sicko. ;) :lmao:

Thanks, I did that straight away last night & again this morning. That's why we haven't bothered going to the hospital as they don't even x ray them anymore, just tell you to rest it and strap it up.

Didn't know about the clear pot thing. Did know about the over-watering. My problem is I tend to under-water plants. I once killed a cactus. I'll have to let Dennis know about that. Maybe he'll let my try again. He's sternly against cruelty to plants! :rotfl:

I did that once, to my fourth toe - and everyone thought I was weird b/c it wasn't my little or big toe. I was running to get the door - UPS was delivering my birthday present from my parents (a cordless screwdriver! *sigh* I love power tools :lovestruc) and I had already missed them once. I hobbled to the door and got my package, then collapsed on the floor trying to not pass out. My poor toe was pointed in a direction that toes shouldn't go.

The clear pot really makes a difference. :thumbsup2 I haven't got an Orchid at the moment as my mum has adopted mine, I took it round for her to look after when I went on holiday in January and she became quite attached to it so I left it there. It's doing well actually and has grown more stems and lots more flowers. :)

Ouch! I think his is still swelling and bruising at the moment, his whole toe is a dark purple/black bruise  maybe it'll still be that colour for villains night. :lmao:

Jean,

you need to make 4 more short posts - they don't need to be anything serious or even cruise related, so we can PM (private message).

Group #3 Palo Brunch so far:

giraffe104 (1)
yogitxtx (1)
3candianslovedisney (4)
IansGran (1)

Five more names and we can submit a request.

How it works: we submit a request for the private room; at 30 days pre-cruise (Aug 10), they'll let us know if its available; we need 12-14 people
if you have a personal reservation for Palo brunch, DCL will cancel it if group request approved; you get to meet, mix and mingle with fellow DISers.

Now, I find the brunch starts off sort of awkwardly, like any social situation, then you leave having spent time with some new friends in a lovely setting. So if anyone is concerned about not knowing others, you are pretty much in the same situation. But I haven't been to a Group Palo Brunch that wasn't fun.

John and I will join in the brunch if you can get the ressie. Who do I need to PM as I will have to cancel our own ressie?

Throbbing and swelling .... I don't like the sound of that. Poor Lee .... I hope you are giving him some TLC :hug:

As far as I remember, DCL automatically cancel your individual reservations once you have a group booking.
