:welcome: to all the new cruisers! We are Lauren, James, and Lorelei from West Virginia. This our 6th Disney cruise but 1st TA. We're all going to have so much fun. :goodvibes

I'm happy to say Lorelei's party went off without a hitch! It was a little hot but the kids and adults had so much fun. We always wait to open presents till everyone's left though and she was so tired she only opened 3 and gave up. I guess we'll do the rest today. Maybe she just wants to extend her birthday fun  Now we can focus on the trip more.

Sarah- I can only imagine how you feel with Taryn so far. Glad you finally heard from her. Lorelei moves to the 2 yo room at daycare on Monday and I'm dreading it. I know she'll love it because there's "big kid" toys and such but I just want to keep her small forever.

Pleased to hear the party went well .... Happy Birthday to Lorelei :thumbsup2 Good luck for the move to the 2 year old room

Well we arrived safely at Orlando last night and flew in just at the exact same time as a thunderstorm and had to sit on the tarmac for 30 minutes till it passed over. No too bad as they turned the entertainment back on.

We were really excited yesterday, as we were on a brand new virgin aircraft with "on demand" tv which made such a huge difference. Only managed 4 films

Watch out credit cards..... Malls here we come!!!! Magic Kingdom this afternoon :lovestruc

I would have been hysterical .... I am terrified of being in a thunderstorm and really not happy flying so combining the two isn't a good place to be. We had one horrible storm just now in Orlando, when I was driving the car, and I had to pull over and park up as I was hysterical, hyperventilating and shaking ... the lightning was striking all around and it was directly overhead, I have never been so scared in my life :scared1::scared1::scared1:

We had that entertainment system on our way home .. it was much better with the on demand movies .. and I did get a bit hooked in playing the games !! The seats were really uncomfortable though ... very upright and narrow ( or maybe I am too wide !)

Welcome new cruisers!

If you are interested in participating in the FE Exchange, please send me a PM (or Visitor's message if you don't have 10 posts) with your name(s) and room assignment if you have it. I must have this info before I can add you to the list and approve you for access to the Google group info.

Please also include "WBTA FE" in the subject. I've been coordinating the exchange for the October cruise (that we'll be cancelling), so I need to know which cruise you are on. I've had a couple of people message me that they want to participate, but I can't find them in either thread and have not had replies to my requests for cruise info.

The deadline to sign up is August 1 (one week from tomorrow).

Thanks!!

I'm also toying with the idea of doing the Wishes Dessert Party on our last night there. I've wanted to try this since they introduced it but haven't had the time. Any comments on this one? Is it worth the $$?

I may have to call for the ressies, though. I've been trying to book online and when I plug in the dates to see what's available I seem to get the "please wait while we complete your request" in an endless loop. :headache:

We did the dessert party going on 2 years ago and both loved it. Whether it is worth the $'s would be personal, and I would think you would get both answers. We thought it was as we just love desserts. Things might have changed since then of course about how they run the event etc. You had your own table which was reserved with your name on it. We also enjoyed seeing Wishes from a different perspective with Tinkerbell flying almost above. We moved over to the viewing area to watch.

There was a lot of choice of desserts and they were replenished regularly. No problems going back as often as you want.;) The chocolate covered strawberries did run out quickly so grab those first!!! Plenty of non alcoholic drinks.

I would say do it. If I could eat all those desserts now I would book again.

I'm a bit excited .... just booked a night away in London with Tony for next weekend, staying at a Holiday Inn in Bloomsbury ( virtually free using priority club points gained from our Orlando trip ). Outward train fare upgraded to first class for £4 extra each :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 and booked tickets to go see "Love Never Dies" before it finishes in August. Can't wait for next weekend now :woohoo: :woohoo:

Hi guys. Quick post, op went well but havent been able to eat or drink really anything since. Darn hosp sent me home cause protocol is home in 2 days. Was thursday afternoon, ambulanced to own hosp satmorn. Back on ivfluids and trying rebuild my feedings. At least proper care here. Not Sure when can go home.

Candyswap; sign up in my pm, but answer not coming soon, sorry! If box is full, contact me via MY facebook. Can be found on wbta facebook.

Sorry for language, phone and brain not working.

We're keeping our fingers crossed for something similar- we're also booked in Economy with miles (we'd love some pixie dust to get us upgraded:cloud9: but we're not holding our breath). I'm glad that we had them, because I really didn't want to pay full price for the tickets....

Yes, it made booking a verandah over an ocean view easy when I didn't need to budget for round trip airfare. I've been checking every day, but the low business awards aren't showing up.

And I think you need a lot of pixie dust to score an upgrade!

Look forward to seeing you on the cruise!

Erik

Glad the op went well. Were you expecting not to be able to eat or drink at this stage afterwards or have you had a problem? I can't believe you were sent home when it seems you needed to still be in there, but at least it seems you are getting good care now. I hope all is going ok for you and you will soon be home again and looking forward to this cruise. to you right now.

Pat, the Flying Fish is my favorite restaurant in all of Disney World. Wish it wasn't so expensive, since that limits my visits to once or twice a year for special occasions. The red snapper there is totally awesome. I haven't heard of the six-course dinner, but I am sure it would be wonderful.

I am looking forward to the meals on the Magic. Maybe I'm just hungry!

Not sure who I need to ask this to, but is there any additional interest in a 3rd group for Palos brunch in the private dining room? Looks like we have several new cruisers and they may not know about that one. Palo's brunch is so good! And its especially fun to have it with a group of Dis'ers! :thumbsup2

Also, does anyone know about claiming back VAT tax? If we buy goods in Europe, can we reclaim them? I know if you are flying out, you have to have paperwork stamped by a customs agent at the airport. How would that work for the TA?

By the way, I've been having nightly dreams about the cruise and Barcelona. I am officially obsessed! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
If you would like me to add this to the welcome wagon post, please let me know what you would like me to state.

Happy to hear that your surgery went well. That's one thing i hate about insurance companies, they seem to send you home too soon sometimes. Did that with my husband many a time.
Here's to better health!!:thumbsup2

I just checked out the desert party at MK after the cruise thru the evening of 28th and there was no availability left

Glad to hear the party was a success....she's growing up! I know what you mean about wanting to keep them small forever. If only......:sad2:

Our thoughts are with you :grouphug:. Hopefully, things will be better now that you're in your local hospital where you feel more comfortable. Don't worry, there's plenty of recovery time before the trip!

I just read in this morning's paper that the US airlines are raising their fares to compensate for the FAA's shut-down (and thus, lack of taxes). The airlines are now pocketing the tax money and we consumers have to pay the same rates as before. Not nice.:headache:

MAYBE STUPID QUESTION (or not, since there are no stupid questions on the boards....right? ;)). We're flying BA from Newark to BCN with a layover in London. Will be have to claim luggage and go through customs in London or not until Barca? This EU thing is confusing...what's internat'l and what's domestic? I've been told that if you change airlines, you have to claim/customs in London, but what about staying on the same one? :confused3 To complicate things, my DM/DN are on the same flights, but the first leg is a code-share through Iberian. Will that matter either way? OK, you seasoned experts...ADVICE?

Just found this message board so thought we'd say hi. We are Larissa (30), Robert (35) and Liam, who will turn 3 while on the cruise. We live in the Philadelphia area now, having moved out here a few months back from California.

Looks like we have a lot of catching up to do!

Hi, :welcome: aboard.

We are Paul, Helen & grace (2), We are from Bradford UK and this is our first cruise.

Something that may be of use to you is that Mandygirl is organising a meet for the younger ones on the first sea day so that they can meet some friends for th cruise, I'm not sure of the exact time location (had a trawl but there is just toooo much to read through) but I think it's at 11am at one of the pools

That is because the Brits have been booking and you know what they are like about desserts!!:lmao:

wait a minute - the cheesecake factory does food..... :rotfl2:

never been in there for anything other than cake. one slice fills me up, let alone having a full meal beforehand!

We love to go to Cheesecake Factory on Fridays as their soup of the day is clam chowder. That way we can have soup, their wonderful bread, and split a cheesecake. Full, full, full!

Pleased to hear your op went well but the post op care is a bit lacking. Surely it should depend on the individual recovery rate when you are discharged not on the protocol :confused3:confused3:confused3 Hope you are getting looked after better now and hope you have a smooth recovery.:hug::hug:

Happy birthday to Lorelei! It's so fun to do b-day parties for our cuties isn't it?

Glad to hear things went well with the surgery, sorry to hear about the quick release out of the hospital! We're praying you have a quick and easy recovery!

We are just about to sit and watch a movie before bed, don't know what we're watching, but it will sure feel great to just sit and relax. Yesturday and the day before we made salsa - 22 jars! That should be the last of it as we also made 22 jars in May. :jumping1:
