I am a big fan of Downy Wrinkle Release and always take it on vacation - great for things like Tshirts and polo shirts. Just sparay lightly, tug on the fabric a little and the wrinkles (mostly) disappear. Beats ironing!

I've heard of this but actually doubted it would work on my hub's t-shirts and heavier materials. This is good info!! Thanks! Guess I have yet another liquid item going in my suitcase, lol.

I have found it at Target in a smaller travel size, so look there for it!

Well, I'm back from Maryland. Very fun weekend w/ friends and the happy soon-to -be mommy of twins. Mom & babies are very healthy and though mom is huge at 30 weeks, she has a great attitude :goodvibes

I am catching up, on page 227 now but being ordered by my dog and husband to go to the park so I'll have to catch up more later.

Happy Monday everyone!! Since we're at the 60 day mark, has anyone been upgraded yet? I need to check, but it must wait until after the park!

Ahhh.... hmmmm.... we married on Hawksnest, so that holds a special place. We've done the beach hopping in a dinghy on the north shore, and each one had unique characteristics. Loved snorkeling Cinnamon to see the old plane (some people love snorkeling shipwrecks, we found it exciting snorkeling to find an old Piper!). Salt Pond had the best sea turtle experiences. Cruise lazy day... Honeymoon beach to watch the catamarans between St John and St Thomas. We did engagement pics on a land trip there at the Westin, but not crazy about that beach. I'm just so excited to get back to Jost VanDyke and see St John from there, and be able to show Sarah through the binoculars "that's where Mommy and Daddy exchanged rings!". So many wonderful memories of St John. Saddens me the USVI has had more homicides this year though :(

Mandy, St. John must just be a romantic place b/c I got engaged there! I love Francis? Beach there - i tmight be the same as the one you said for seaturtles since there were lots of those there. Such a nice place to be :cloud9:

I just watched the last of an era for our space program. It was a beautiful launch of Atlantis our last space shuttle. I have such pride for what the United States has accomplished with our space program, Cape Canaveral will not be the same.:sad2::sad2: God speed to the crew on board.

Yes, I regret never going to Canaveral to see a liftoff. Maybe NASA will rise again someday...

Okay, after seeing the price for this IGT Category on the cruise I caved and you can add me as a new guest on board. :sail: Will be traveling solo. Looks like I have a LOT of reading to do to catch up :). Not sure what my cabin is yet but I am early dining.
Blake

thought I would do a quick intro before I start reading through (at least page 4) all the older posts.

I am Mic, and travelling with my youngest Sarah (13) and hoping my oldest Talena (24) will get to join us. We live in MN and I was lucky enough to do the EBTA and when my new friend Monique said she was going on the WBTA, I talked DH into letting us go.

Welcome Blake and also Mic & Family!!!! :goodvibes

We visited Tortula on an E Caribbean Cruise. There is a cool spice shop there, but then we hopped on the ferry and went to Baths one island over. I can dig out my info if anyone is interested, very easy to do on your own.

I would also recommend the Baths, it makes for a really nice day.

Welcome all new cruisers!

I think this time around I will not have as many dress up clothes and formals... with out DH I won't be doing so many pics. So keeping it simple. I will bring a semi formal but not a long one. If you see me in the same dress... just pretend you haven't already seen it....:rotfl2::rotfl2: So that means less shoes!:rotfl:QUOTE said:
I think this should be a rule! I too will have to recycle my evening dresses.:rotfl:

Bit of a difficult day today, last night a 54kg weight fell on my foot and i ha a xray today and I have a hairline fracture. Didnt help that when I told my boss this morning I couldn't get into work as my foot was injured and even my trainer wouldnt go on his reaction was "not on, wear flipflops I cant get cover on such short notice"!!!! Surely not good management

I too will be recycling dresses, you know, to be green and all......lol;)

Oh my! I hope your fracture is not too painful and that you have a speedy recovery!!

Can you get it in the UK Marilyn? It sounds like my new best friend!!! ;)
I haven't seen it over here sorry. I bought it over there and it had done a few long cruises now. It is nearly done now but should get me through the cruise.

Well I won't be caring. I will be wearing the same clothes over and over. They will be mostly the same ones I wore last September on the WBTA too, plus the January PC cruise. I can't wear them any time else as we are a different climate, and I don't do dressy normally, so all my cruise clothes are never worn otherwise. In fact I need a few other cruises to try and wear the clothes up!!!;)

What a great excuse to do more cruises .. I think I will borrow that one

I tried some wrinkle release about 6-7 years ago and it didn't do much, maybe it's time to try it again! If you like I'll pick you some up while I'm at Target Claire :goodvibes

I have always wanted to learn how to crochet. I'll trade you scrapbooking lessons for crochet lessons :goodvibes

I think we have an accord! Though I have to tell you, it's a bit like teaching someone to ride a bicycle - at some point, you just do it. I'll see if I can find a couple of easy patterns and I'll bring along some extra hooks and yarn. Actually, my FE gifts are pretty easy to make, so I can always show you that.

And don't worry, everyone, they're not those hideous toilet paper covers from the 70's. I like to do things that are a bit more useful and fun!

Oh and I have an excellent solution to wrinkled clothes. It's called...

Dennis. He's one of those strange people who loves to iron. :rotfl:

I'm really nervous about what to pack and hoping if i get an inside cabin that it doesn't start to smell of old socks by day 10... I've never packed for 15+days with out laundry cleaning and I don't really want to pay. Is it doable and can i pack light?

That is what travel Febreeze is for
Really though, we do laundry halfway through so that way we don't have to pack for 14 days. We actually pack for 1/2 the time and just do laundry once during the trip.

Lol,I know that roll me out feeling to well. On our first cruise (a 4 nighter) Lee & I had Dinner in Palo's, then Brunch the next morning - Oh my goodness, we could barely walk. :rotfl2:

Yep, definitely a day to wear stretchy pants ;)

We both have sweet teeth in this house!:rolleyes1 I never have the 'lunch' part of Palo brunch, those desserts are far too nice to miss. Plus the other sweet treats like the pastries and stollen bread with cream and strawberries!!!!:lmao:

I always look at the dessert menu first before ordering my dinner. When I can of course, On DCL it is separate.

I'm a lost cause as far as desserts go!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Dessert is often the best part of the meal for me. I am a sugar addict.

To those of you who recommended the Stieg Larsson books (The Girl Who Wore a Dragon Tattoo, etc) to me for good cruise reading.....I finished the last book and I thoroughly enjoyed them! :worship::worship: We went to the beach last week and The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest was attached to my hand the whole time! Ready for some more suggestions people!!! Thanks again!!!!!:banana:

I read "The Help" by Kathryn Stockett & really enjoyed it.

Good morning all,
Finally, after tummy troubles for a week I'm back to my old self again! DH is recovering well and I'm trying to prepare for a week at WDW...we leave on the 22nd!
Keri

Yay! Glad you're feeling better. Have fun on your trip!!

That's SO funny! And remember granny squares? That's when I learned to crochet too.

My husband likes to iron also - was Dennis former military?

Yep, definitely a day to wear stretchy pants ;)

My Canadian friend Carol calls them 'buffet pants'

PS there's a nice new trip report by kevykev or something like that from the EBTA - he's even got photos of MENUS! They look MUCH more appealing to me than the menus on the PC cruise.

Actually I learned to crochet just a few years ago. Never, EVER made one of those things! (But my mom did.) And granny squares are still around, they're just not as ugly as they used to be. I don't have the attention span to make a bunch of those and stitch them together, though. Same story for any of my recent big projects. It's why there are all these half-finished things around the house.

And yes, Dennis is retired Air Force. Guess some of that training stuck with him. He likes to put on his Roy Rogers DVDs and his cowboy hat and do the ironing. Quite a sight, really. :rolleyes1

Yep I really like this board. Y'all are awesome.
I think I figured out my travel plans. Overnight flight from Boston on the 7th-8. 8th-10th in London and then morning 7a flight into Barcelona for 10:10a then taking public transport to the pier area. No hard rock cafe for me :-/ I'm just too excited to see London :yay:

I'd love to check out that thread. Could you post a link Linda?

:disrocks: aren't disboards people just the most friendly people? It feels good to go on this cruise knowing you already have friends onboard :goodvibes

What are your plans in London?

Pat,

I nearly spat out my Mountain Dew reading this! I'm afraid I now have a mental image of him in cowboy boots, boxer shorts, white t-shirt and the cowboy hat ironing. I think I saw that in a movie one time....maybe it was a Burt Reynolds flick?

Anyway, the thought that my DH Steve would ever iron....well, let's just say that a hot place would have to freeze completely over first! Come to think of it, I do my best not to iron either!

Keri

What are your plans in London?

Plans are still up in the air. I'm obsessed with Dr. Who and Catherine Tate among other BBC shows... so just walking around the city is going to be enough. I'm going to keep my eye on free showings of BBC shows, see if i can sit in the audience to anything. Definitely want to hit either parliament or Buckingham Palace. Other than that, just enjoy London Town.

Giraffe104 - welcome!
Did my grad work at RIC many yrs ago, and one dd lives close to No Smithfield. I love RI, have many wonderful memories of the merry-go-round at Watch Hill.
Sounds like you have some great plans there - enjoy London.

:thumbsup2 DH and I are big fans of Dr. Who as well. DH has watched since Tom Baker was the doctor. My first doctor episode was the empty child with Eccleston. Tennant was my favorite. Best episode ever was Blink. Catherine Tate was great as the doctor donna. Sorry to those of you who have absolutely no idea what I am talking about.

It's not quite THAT bad... He wears long pants.
