Love the Goodbye Kitty one. :lmao:

You better buy a few more things before we go ... one thing you won't have to worry about is excess baggage. I am on the lookout for new sandals too .... something comfortable for sight-seeing :confused3

That's a good point, more room for FE gifts etc. ;)

I bought a pair of Fit Flops & a pair of Birkenstocks so far, will take some of the sandals I bought for my cruise in January too as they are pretty much still new.

Well at least you have suncream so your nether regions shouldn't get burnt!!!

:rotfl2: Ouch!!! The thought of that is enough to make your eyes water!

Claire the exact same thought ran through my head .. only you beat me to the punchline :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Great minds.....:thumbsup2

For those of you interested in the canyoning in Madeira, someone on the PassPorter boards did this on the EBTA last year. She wrote about it here:

Madeira trip report

Not a lot of details, but it should give you some idea of what it was like.
Pat: Thanks so much for posting that! It was really helpful...need to consider how cold the water is going to be!

Good morning everyone, welcome to all the newcomers. Has anyone heard if Ducky Williams will be on our cruise? Tried to look up a schedule it used to be posted on the disney cruise website but nothing. Thanks Cindy

He was on the EBTA and I understand will be on the WBTA.. but no guarantees. He is soooo awesome!

Just wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS to Karen for winning the DIS UK quiz this month :worship::worship:

and well done to Claire for coming second :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

We have stars in our midst :cool1::cool1:

You are way too organised!!! :worship:

I thought I was doing well.....I bought my first top for the cruise yesterday! So far I have 1 new top, 2 new pairs of sandals and some suntan lotion.

I just unpacked from the EBTA and left most things in their baggies and put in a drawer to be repacked... other than clothes. Don't think I will need to do much if any shopping before this one.
DH is not going so I have no one to handle my luggage but me... this brings a new light to how much I will pack...:rotfl2::rotfl2: Seems I am thinking I don't need near as much stuff as I took on the EBTA :confused3

Fit Flops are AWESOME !!!! I bought 2 pairs and I love, love, love them. No breaking, soooooo comfy.

:cool1: :dance3:
Today I have mostly been re-organising my case.
I have managed to get the weight of it down to 10kgs :thumbsup2 So now I can go and buy some more clothes & might I say shoes - well 1 pair of nice shoes for formal nights:woohoo:
:worship:Wow!!! We're going away for the weekend and I haven't even thought about what to pack for then, let alone for the cruise! I wish I was as organized as you are, Michelle. Every time we go away, I think I'll get the packing done in advance, so that it is a pleasant experience. Invariably though it ends up being a frantic rush on the night before flying out, desperately trying to pack everything ! :lmao:

Lol, forget the Naked Man in Barcelona.....I'm the Naked Woman on the Magic! :lmao:

I'm on the lookout for comfortable sandals too, Sarah. It seems really hard to find sandals that are both nice looking and comfortable; add to the mix that a lot of stores in Ottawa don't carry shoes in the small size that I need (3 UK; 5 US) and it makes for a frustrating experience! :sad2: Though I'm sure Paul thinks I have enough shoes already :rotfl2::rotfl2:

About 7 pages to read when I have coming home from work, but I am at the end now.

DH & I really like this..we attended it each time it was offered on the EBTA

We went to one of these on the 7 night western caribbean last year. The chef was from one of the restaurants at MGM studios (or have they changed the name now?) and in addition to demonstrating one of their signature dishes, he gave some insights on how the restaurants there were set up and run. We really enjoyed it :thumbsup2

I love cooking so I look forward for some demontrations on the ship.
Do you get recipes or is it just looking and can you tast as well?

See, it was predicted already and you were right; we are getting flushed with all kinds of people that are booking this cruise relatively last minute. By the time we get to cruise we'll all need a guidebook just to keep up with all of the names, nicks and who's who. ;)

Liesbeth; you'ld be surprised! You can not "do" disney without running into Kaaskoppen. Seriously, this will be my 5th WDW trip since 2007 and 2nd cruise and I always ran into other Dutchies. Last year we even seemed to trip over them one day, ran into 7 seperate Dutch travelgroups. And that's not even counting the times we ran into Americans that had Dutch roots and just loved to hear some Dutch and such. (got to say, have a soft spot for that though, I love hearing those old familystories that go back even centuries) I'm sure there will be others on this cruise that just simply haven't signed up on here or one of the 2 dutch boards.

Yes a lot of "last minute" bookers, but I saw that the OGT and VGT are still available and that prizes aren't that high. You have to pay right away, but that has everybody now I think and you didn't know which deck and room you get. We are also still waiting, but that's the price wirth it. (a verrandah for the price I booked an ocean view on deck 2 earlier)

So welcome all newcommers

And Jaqueline, yes I know there are more dutch or belgium on board. I know 2 of them from the DLRP fans site. And I think Manon is also on this forum active.
And my son has relatives in US, so I can imagen that there are more from the US with Dutch ancestors.
We shall see. But through this forum I have the feeling I already know you and the other dismembers. Thats why I realy hope that you can make it on the cruise.

Fit Flops are AWESOME !!!! I bought 2 pairs and I love, love, love them. No breaking, soooooo comfy.

Me too, I live in them onboard.(So why am I taking the other 15 pairs of shoes then:confused3:rotfl2:)

Sarah, if I were you I'ld look into some sandals with proper fitting and footbed for sightseeing. A bit cooler than closed up sneakers, sandals can be combined with all kinds of clothingstyles (and the right ones could even combine with a formal dress :thumbsup2) which leaves you with space left for other stuff. Also nice to pop on if you are just heading to the beach and dust of the sand afterwards.

I personally am a teva convert. They have great fitting, a good footbed, sturdy material and are made for outdoor sportings. Which means; they hold up amazingly, whatever you do. This includes surviving many of those Florida down pours without any "harm" done. Apart from perhaps a bit of dirt beneath them, you could not tell that mine have ever been used. Love that durability. Not the cheapest around, but they are very feet-friendly and depending on the style can be combined with casual and a bit less casual clothings to save space. They got multiple styles, so easier to find something to ones likings.

This is the one I got myself and will be part of the 3 sets of footwear in total I'm taking along (incl. what will be on my feet during travel);

Oh and us ladies can fit into the bigger child sizes when it comes to teva. Just convert the sizes to cm and you can easily compare (a childs 5 isn't the same as a female 5 with them). Kinda silly, but the same style will be cheaper in a childs size than in a females size eventhough the sandal is the exact same size in centimeters...

Hi all,

EEEK....I just realized that I'm supposed to book my stuff on the 12th and I haven't looked at much.

Since this trip is also to be "educational" for Andrew, I wanted to do some type of a "Rock of Gibraltar" tour with him. I've looked at the Disney site and cruise critic and it seems most on the Cruise Critic site are recommending a taxi tour through Gibraltar Taxi Association. So, what are you all doing? It looks like the taxi's are for 8 passengers. Would anyone be interested in going with us?

Looking for good advice here!

As for Maderia, I'm struggling with going on the tour Noel is putting together or taking in the Botanical Gardens. St. Marteen is fixed....we're headed to Orient Beach and we're going to Jost van **** on Tortola.

Thanks everyone!

Karen

DH and I did this tour last year and will be doing it again this year, since we'll have three newbies with us. It was easy; we just picked up a taxi van outside the terminal and paid the driver at the end. He was a bit of a crazy driver, but that added a bit to the fun. We still :rotfl2: about it. There was plenty of time to shop/eat on the main street afterward.

Yes, they give you the recipe, if I remember correctly. :)

I know many of you are will be arriving at Barcelona Airport before the cruise. If you are going to use the airport shuttle here is an intresting little story
