Oh you can all send your rain here! We're in the middle of a drought - down something like 8 inches of rain. Everything is so dry and brown.

We decided to plant a small veggie garden this year, theoretically to save a bit of money, but we've had to water it twice a day, so any savings we might have had is being eaten by the water bill!

We haven't had much rain this year and are in the middle of a drought too...we are on the verge of yet another hose pipe ban so no watering the garden!

Well saying as we've got absolute awful weather here I decided to go and do a bit shopping for the cruise.

I have bought 2 tankini's and a pair of dress shoes for formal nights...1 pair should be enough - shouldn't it shoe gurus?

Oooh fun shopping! I ordered some clothes online the other day, a big box arrived this morning so i'm going to play dress up later. ;)

Marilyn, I have played it safe and bought 2 dresses the same colour, totally different designs though. The shoes would go with both. So would you buy another pair or just go with the one pair?

I would say one pair would be good Michelle. :thumbsup2 I think I will sort my shoes out once i've worked out what clothes i'm taking. I did find about 4 pairs of sandals that i'd forgotten about when I was doing some clearing out yesterday so that was a nice surprise.

I did a little shopping earlier too, I started on my Secret Mickey gifts. :cool1:

I tend to wear the same shoes with both formals .... they are black sandals which go with most colours so I played it safe !

Well in that case I would use the one pair for both formal dresses and buy another nice pair for any other night!!!;):rotfl: Just in case of course!!!

Thank you Ladies :) I knew I could rely on you shoe gurus:goodvibes

LOL's Claire...you have plenty of shoes then. Hope you didn't buy more in your online shop the other day!

Nope I didn't....but never say never! ;) If I do then i'll have to hide them from Lee as he counted my shoe collection last year and let's just say he was not amused!!!! I am still on a ban from buying anymore......

That's how I pack! That little pair of black formal-ish sandals better not break! :lmao:

I know the feeling. I have trouble keeping plastic plants alive. :rotfl:

I've been known to kill a cactus... :rotfl2:

My weight loss is going ok .... have more good days than bad days and on the bad days I just nibble on a few dry rich tea biscuits of wafers to kill any sweet cravings. I still have a bit more to shift if I am to fit into my week 1 dresses :rotfl2:

I've been losing inches, not pounds. They tell me I am building muscle, but I know at doctor checkups, that little number on the scale doesn't convey "she's lost INCHES!". I did treat myself to chocolate chip pancakes at our local diner this morning... mmmmm..... and Curt wanted me to bring home sopapilla cheesecake since he is at work

It's the weekend so talk of the cruise dominates. :) As one of us likes to buy more (ahem) things - (read souvenirs) - than the other - is there a way to have the stateroom folio separated so that it can be tracked what each of us purchased with our KTTW card? It seems that they would each have a different serial number and thus could be separated.

I know on other cruises, our purchases were logged according to our key card. I would just conveniently NOT have mine so Curt would end up with all the charges :rotfl2:

Oops Claire - you sound very naughty ;)

I'm so excited to get to book my shore excursions/palo ressies tonight!! Has anyone ever ate at palo alone before...was it akward? I really enjoy palo, and i'm going to go by myself (i'm used to eating alone since I travel for work), but this is my first solo cruise. :goodvibes:goodvibes

We had the terrible weather on Thursday and Friday. We had soooooo much rain, I thought it would never stop!! The lightning was insane as well, I was terrified to shower since my mother filled my mind with getting electrocuted in a storm if you are showering...then I googled it, and she was right!! So, it was a quick shower for me, thankfully I didn't get electrocuted!! :lmao::lmao:

Any big plans for the weekend? Usually, I visit my sister by St. Louis this weekend for Switzerfest (this big festival there, and my Brother-in Law's band always plays Sat. night), but I visited last weekend for her birthday...so now I get to enjoy doing NOTHING which is also fun once in a while!! :goodvibes

All this talk of shopping :-)

Apart from the trips organised by the good DIS ppl does anyone have any suggestions for alternatives to the DCL ones?? , especially the more expensive ones like the Dolphin swim on Tortola, or the sea trek helmet dive on St maarten ?????

starting to panic He He He

Michael & the Motley crew :-)

Great minds and all that :thumbsup2 Thanks :hug: It is getting a bit difficult. She is travelling to Seattle when she finishes to stay with friends for a few weeks, and she will be visiting Canada and lots of places around that area. It is a wonderful opportunity but I can't help feeling sad because this is the first time my "little girl" will be experiencing so much without me being part of it. Does that make sense :confused3:confused3

Having three grown children, I really do understand. When your first "chick" leaves the nest for the first time without you, you realize that their life is now changing and their decisions will be made without you for the first time.

We've nothing planned for the weekend...I will be hopefully catching up on all the sleep I've lost!

you can attach different credit cards to different KTTW cards. thats what me and gary did last year and it worked out perfect for us. just need to ask the person who's checking you in

man, i'm never taking a shower in a storm again!

and sorry, but when you guys are up at 5am booking stuff, i will still be in the land of nod!
i want one palo dinner reservation, but not that badly to warrant waking up at 5am on my day off!

I was telling Dennis about the shoe discussion here. He, being a typical man, couldn't understand why we need so many shoes. He said something like, "I need 2 pairs of shoes; one pair for dinner and one for everything else." So I asked him what he planned to wear to the beach, and the pool, and walking around Barca, Gibraltar, Madeira, etc.? He said, "I don't know." Oy! :sad2:

I said I need: formal, formal, semi-formal, casual dinner (maybe 2), flip-flops, walking, slippers, and something everyday that's guaranteed to not give me blisters (maybe 2). Minimum 8 to 10 pairs. I don't think that's at all unreasonable. :teeth:

It is a very remote chance...but still! I guess they did it on mythbusters and everything! And i thought my Mom was being crazy as usual, LOL!! :scared1:

Naughty but nice. :teeth:

:scared1: I've never heard of that before...scary!

Doing nothing is good. Enjoy! :thumbsup2 I had a day like that this week, I didn't even change out of my pj's and it was bliss!!! :cloud9:

We have been doing lots of little chores around the house today, tomorrow will be much the same.
