Karen,

Kevin & I are fine with waiting at the airport till 11 to share the minibus.

I like the post that said "One of the Karens" will be at DLP. Seriously, I am amazed at the number of us who share this name. I am curious as to what our moms chose for middle names. I am Karen Ann. Who else is out there?

I wonder what polish they used that just chipped off like that? Do you remember? I wonder if you could bring your own polish & basecoat.....

I'll bring some odds and ends, so if anyone has a nail emergency I'd be happy to help them out! I travel with OPI polishes, nail glue and repair silk, files, base and top coats. If I felt comfortable traveling with my Shellac lamp I'd bring that too, but I don't think the bulbs would survive the journey. But I'm serious, if anyone needs a hand with a repair or a quick polish job, I'm in cabin 6071.

Ahhh, the kindness of strangers :lovestruc.

:)

That is very sweet of you. :flower3: I am a bit obsessed with my nails - I'm a recovering nail biter  so I have to keep them nice and smooth and poilshed or I just can't handle it - I always bring basecoat and polish w/ me too, but I like Essie b/c the brushes are a little smaller & easier to polish for me.

That is so sweet of you, I just may take you up on that offer :flower3:

No problem! I'd love to help out and think it would be fun (I could perch out on the pool deck and deal with any "nail disasters".) I can do a mean polish job pretty fast too :wizard:

Mandygirl - I definately want to take part in a toddler group. If you are making a list, put us on it :woohoo:

Wow page 42 already :scared1: :rotfl2:

Well I can now join the PIF club :woohoo::woohoo:

Some of my FE gifts have started to arrive. It's starting to hit me that we are going on this cruise and it's going to be FAB.

Just had a flash of lightening followed straight away with the BIGGEST clap of thunder I've heard in a very long time :scared1:

Useful phrases in Catalan (which is what they speak in Barca):

Hola (Oh-lah) = hello (informal)
Bon dia (bohn DEE-uh) = good morning
Bona tarda (BOH-nuh TAHR-thuh) = good afternoon
Bona nit (BOH-nuh neet) = good night
Si (see) = yes
No (noh) = no
Si us plau (see oos PLOW) = please
Gracies (GRAH-syuhs) = thank you
De res (duh rrehs) = you're welcome
Adeu (uh-THEH-oo) = goodbye

And the most important phrase of all:

On es el lavabo? (OHN ehhs uhl luh-BAH-boo) = Where is the bathroom?

I've been practicing. :teeth:

How about "Do you speak English because I don't speak Barca?" :)

I can speak muy poco Spanish. Do you think that will get me by?

Good Morning Everyone!!!

So, we had planned a hiking vacation in the Virginia mountains for the week of the 19th. But we're running into some trouble b/c its as hot in Virginia right now as it is here in Florida. We're re-thinking our trip.....

Is anyone somewhere that is not awfully hot right now? We are looking for vacation alternatives!

If you are still looking for a Cat 5A, we are willing to join the list.

Norman

Hi Norman,

Thanks for offering. I've got you down for the 5A.

Everyone else, I'm still looking for participants for the Stateroom Tour....remember, we can't do it without you!

I'm the Karen that will be at DLP...we arrive on the 5th and depart on the 9th. Andrew and I are so excited. He's not been to Europe before. I've traveled there several times for work but it was always short, very meeting focused, trips with very little time for sight-seeing.

As far as my middle name....Leah.

Two weeks ago we had snow, so it is not that warm here in South Dakota. I wish it was.

I think you have an 11B ... and I don't anticipate an upgrade. However if we do get upgraded to the Walt or Roy Suite we will definitely volunteer In fact we will throw a party and invite you all :thumbsup2 ( and then she woke up !! )

Que parla angles? (kuh PAHR-luh uhn-GLEHS) = Do you speak English?

No parlo el catala. (noh PAHR-loo uhl kuh-tuh-LAH) = I can't speak Catalan.

Spanish will work, but I read where the Catalans are very independent and proud of their distinction from the Spanish. Understandable, considering Franco's oppression of the Catalan people and language.

I just like the idea of being able to say a few words in their language. That's about all I'll be able to do. I spent two years in high school trying to learn French and never could get the hang of it!

We have plenty of heat if you want some!

Our friends left last night for Barcelona for a Mediterranean cruise on RCL. JEALOUS! They encountered a 4-hour delay in JFK due to bad storms, but it's OK because they are Executive Platinum on AA so they were riding in first class anyway. (Even more jealous!)

He was going to give us two of his systemwide upgrades to use on our flight to Barcelona - but they are not valid on award tickets, which we are flying on!:mad:

Hey all,
Here is a stupid question, do you think Lion King 3D will be playing on the Magic when we cruise? It is being released September 16 in 3D and curious if it will be on the ship. Thanks!

if its a theatrical release, then i'm 99% sure they'll be showing it on the ship :woohoo:

Wow everyone! I can't believe we are on our 4th thread. It got busy for us again and so I have had no time to get on the DISboard.

WELCOME! to everyone who has joined in the last couple of weeks. We are Leanne, Ken DH and Morgan DD and this is our first ever cruise. We are Canadians living/working in Crimea, Ukraine not far from the Black Sea.

We celebrated our daughter's 9th birthday on May 30 and had 12 kids here for a makeover party. We hired someone to do hair styling and someone else to do nails and temporary tatoos and it was a huge hit. The national kids (Ukrainian and Tatar) here kept asking if we were going to do it again next year for her birthday. Thankfully some of the moms stayed and helped us with the games and getting the pizzas ready.

Here is a picture of the cake I made. Morgan requested a pink sunglasses cake and I obliged.

So much fun! Then we had to cram 3 weeks of homeschooling into 2 weeks but we just finished today. :cool1: :dance3: To celebrate we went out for supper to our favorite Tatar food restaurant.

Well hopefully now I'll be able to join in the FUN here more often.

What hotel will you be staying at? We'll be there the 5th to the 9th as well at the Newport Bay Club.
