Allright-----WHO WANTS A LANYARD????
OK folks----

Let the sign-ups for lanyards BEGIN!!!

If you would like a FREE custom lanyard and name badge for this cruise (a great way to meet new people, identify other DIS friends, and put faces and names with screen-names), then I need you to EMAIL ME YOUR INFORMATION!!

Here is the information that I need:
DISBoards screenname: I need the DISBoard name(s) spelled and capitalized the way you want it on your name badge. For many/most groups, there will probably be only one DIS name for a group of people---that is totally fine. If there ARE multiple different DIS names/users in a group, let me know all of them but ALSO be sure to link the correct DIS name with the correct person.
First Name: Please give us the first name of EVERYONE in your party who would like a lanyard the way you want it to appear on the name badge. (Please remember that spelling counts!! The name you give here is what your name badge will say....so make sure it's correct!) Also---and this is important---make sure that the FIRST name you send is the primary DIS user under the screenname you send!
Stateroom #: Why do I need your room #? To get your lanyard to you! I will try to give out all the lanyards in the port or at a meet onboard during embarkation...but if I miss you, I need your room # so that I can deliver them to you later. If you are GTY, that's fine, just say so. There will be plenty of time later to fill in room #'s or to make changes if people switch rooms.

So please put all the above information into an email and send it to this address: dcl.wbta.2011@gmail.com

(Please note, I will not necessarily be replying individually to every person confirming receipt of their request for lanyards....HOWEVER, once I get requests rolling in I will be putting them into a spreadsheet on our website that I will link through google docs and people can view (but NOT edit) so you can look for yourself there to make sure you are listed and that all your information is correct...and then email me with any changes obviously).

I will be adding this information to my post on the first page.

Let the lanyard fun begin!!!

have vacationed in the Hershey, PA area a couple times! Lovely B&Bs, the town smells of milk chocolate, awesome spa at the Hotel Hershey  Enjoy your visit in PA!!!

I've heard that Hershey smells of chocolate :) would love to visit there one day - sounds like heaven to me!

Even moreso is a visit to the spa. Our first trip there, I went to the spa without Curt. I walked back into our room at the B&B and he was just waking up. He swore I smelled like a walking chocolate bar! And in the wrap I had, I literally felt like a baking brownie. So awesome. The second trip back, he joined me, but it was before they had finished construction on the new couples spa suite. We need to go back for that. :thumbsup2

My girls and I will probably join in! And I CAN NOT DANCE!!! "Stupid sailaway dancing" is what it will be for us!!

And how in the world am I going to choke back that lump in my throat hearing the horn, embarking on this once-in-a-lifetime adventure, knowing we are about to do something so awesome as to sail across the great Atlantic??? :lovestruc I am usually not an emotional person, but just knowing we have this opportunity to do this as a family, I get goosebumps and tears in my eyes just thinking about it! And getting onboard the ship with announcing our family??? Breathe. We are looking so forward to this!! Just so thankful for each day we have together as a family. And to think of my daughters getting to see princesses, Minnie... gotta stop thinking of those things!!!

"Stupid sailaway dancing" is my all time favorite kind of dancing! :rotfl2: My toes are tapping right now thinking about it! I'll have plenty of time to practice before our big premiere! :lmao: Sounds like fun ladies!

Mandy - see you on the dancefloor! Roll on the bad dancing and many a cha cha slide!

I wish hotels could push check out to 11am, so much more convenient!!!

At least the terminal, once through check in, is a huge open space so at least she can move away from any crowds. She will have to hang around for a while as boarding doesn't start till 11.45-12md, but if you can be prepared for that and go get a couple of photos taken with Mickey etc it shouldn't seem too long.

You can go straight to eat, then have a good nosey around the ship before being allowed in your room at 1.30. I love that time!!!

I think I will have to see how it goes on the day. So many people say wait until later then it will be a walk on...but Paris won't want to hang out before hand. Meeting the characters will definitely pass the time as long as she can wait outside of the q for that.
We're so excited to have lunch for the first time and then spend the next few hours trying to find everything. I think it will be a day of tears and meltdowns but after the first night i'm sure she'll be fine. Just takes a while to get things in her stride.

The box may fit in the fridge but that doesn't necessarily mean it'll be cold!

I was thinking the same. I like wine to be cold pirate:

It is the new things isn't it?

Yummy, the first lunch!!! I asked my husband last year sometime what he was most looking forward to, and he said - 'the first lunch'!!!

Hello Noel,

I just sent my lanyard email, too. :cool1:

I don't think I really needed to mention it here, but this will help me get my post count up to 10 so I can send a PM if I need to.

I also sent $10 via Paypal on Wednesday, which I only mention because I seem to be the only one whom you did not acknowledge and I am starting to get an inferiority complex.

For those who do not know me yet (basically everyone) this is my lame attempt at being humorous.

Now if you will excuse me, I need to go practice my bad dancing. I have heard that there may be an opportunity for me to demonstrate my Mad Bad Dancing Skillz on this cruise.

Regards,
Jerry

There's a really cool dance we did at the sail away (with a cocktail in the hand) up on deck 10 last year. It is one they also do for the adults in Rockin Bar D when the disco comes on. It's steps to the right and left, a couple of kicks of the feet and you turn round and do it all again.

Not sure what it's called :confused3

Now I wouldn't mind doing that with a few of you, I can join the bad dancing too :rotfl2::rotfl2:

:rotfl2: I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's dancing skills......maybe we should have a DIS dance off! :lmao:

That sounds fairly easy....i'm sure we'll have a boogie on Deck 10 with cocktails in hand, I usually do. :cool1:

Jerry, I look forward to seeing the mad bad dancing skills! There was talk a little whole back that they taught the hoedown throwdown last year. Now that will be a learning curve that will probably need to be undertaken only after a few bevvies!
(probably shouldnt mention this bit I do know the Hannah Montana "ice cream freeze" dance, so the hoedown shouldn't be a major problem)
(and I would like to add that the only reason I know that dance is because I work at a disney store so hear the same songs on a loop for a month at a time!)

GOOD Afternoon, Happy Cruisers!
My primary computer died this morning, so I will be among the missing for a couple weeks.

At the moment we are in Pittsburgh PA visiting some friends so unable to keep up with the posts as much as usual.

Jane & Dave

LOVE Pittsburg - Botanical garden - and some restaurant (Isabels?) down in the flats that was OUT STANDING.

Thank you, Noel!

Yes you're right. However, we have to check out at 10am (i think) and then head to the port. I don't fancy a couple of hours sightseeing with luggage and kids. Even if I could dump luggage Paris will be anxious and just "want to get to the ship".

She doesn't "do" big crowds or looong waits ;)

I was hoping to turn up and hopefully get priority boarding a bit quicker than normal boarding. :wizard:

Trust me, if you are standing anywhere near us you would WISH that we'd already boarded :scared1: :rotfl2:

If Paris has a disability for which you would get a GAC at WDW, then you should mention it to the CM who does your paperwork, and ask about a waiting space that will meet her needs. My granddaughter is one of them, so I KNOW what you mean.

Hi Cruisers........we
Flew down to Disneyland yesterday. My friend won the contest for a sneak preview on Star Tours. It's for two people so she and Tony are somewhere on Main Street awaiting their turn among the masses. They had to meet up at 6am and get shuttled over to the park via Disney. I'm content here in the hotel for now. I'll meet up with them after park opening. Oh, and it included free admission (we are AP).

And tonight POTC4 in DTD!!!!!! Saw the main characters out yesterday for photo ops.

Happy Friday everyone and welcome to those just joining this cruise:cool1:
COOL! Have a BLAST!

Someone's talking weather...I've got to chime in! I've mentioned in passing that I'm a meteorologist and I can honestly say that the hurricane predictions for EVERY year are "above average activity". It's a bit of a joke anymore. It's also amazing how many lasting-less-than-a-day questionable storms get named to help verify their own forecast. I digress.

More importantly, La Nina has already decayed and nearly gone away entirely. Most oceanic forecasters are already saying it's more likely to stay neutral or even become El Nino by fall. That's all good news for fewer hurricanes so long as the few that do form leave mid to late September alone in the Caribbean! We always cruise during peak hurricane season for the better rates and have had picture perfect weather 2 of the 3 cruises (not even a cloud on one of them!) The other we had Hurricane Omar and we skipped St. Thomas and did Nassau instead. They're good at steering clear of the storms.

The second graph on this site shows the decay: http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/analysis_monitoring/enso_update/sstanim.shtml

Hopefully the impacts from La Nina will also erode as quickly and we might end up in pretty good shape.:thumbsup2

Boy, my husband (the skier) would love to meet you! He prays to you guys for snow, daily, :rotfl:

We definitely all should meet somewhere on deck for " lift off " and make a bon voyage toast to a wonderful cruise.

Where does everyne prefer to be for Sailaway .... in the thick of it all Deck 9, or up on Deck 10. We should perhaps designate a meeting point for Sailaway !!

Grumpy old lady here - Deck 10 forward - as FAR from the rumpas as possible!

Pat & Tom from Indiana

Welcome aboard! Our cabin is Eilean from DT, Caroline from MA and me, Linda from NY

Happy Day, all!
