Sept 10 2009 "Wonder-ful" Cruise

Hope everyone had a great weekend, we have a tropical storm knocking on our back door here I hope they are all out of the way before our cruise.
Paul

We are staying at BLT the 7th through the 10th. We are looking forward to a few days at MK then a few more resting on the cruise!!

Perhaps our paths will cross? Viewing wishes from the lounge or on the DCL bus? I'll be the one chasing after two little girls going crazy!!

We plan on viewing the fireworks on Wednesday night from the lounge. So if you're there....

Got our "documents" today....but with the online check in, documents are really only luggage tags.

I am getting so excited!! I keep crossing my fingers that all those storms will stay very far away!!

After several September cruises, I've learned not to fret about storms. First, the storm paths change on a day to day basis. Secondly, the captain will not take the ship anywhere near a hurricane (he is too smart for that). The only time a hurricane really messed up our cruise was when it closed Port Canaveral and we had to go out of Lauderdale 3 days late! Our 7 day became a 4 1/2 day cruise. No fun. Yes, DCL did compensate us, but it was still not optimal.

It would be a bummer to miss Castaway, but for me, the destination is the ship. I'll be happy just being back on board!

Ahhh! Just under 3 weeks before we leave for our first cruise/WDW!!!
I'm starting to get a little stressed about what things I need to do still before we leave.
I've read up as much as possible, have all our confirmation numbers written down, set up out DCL transfer, rental car and ME, even printed up park maps.
But now I have to actually get it organised and find something to bring it all in, lol.

Oh and I need to find a new pair of shorts for the trip too, lol.

I know I'll be ready by the time we leave (or even a day or two early, lol) but its still starting to get my nerves going, lol.

I'm not sure if I asked yet, but is anyone here travelling from Canada?
We are driving from BC down to Seattle to get our flights there (cheaper than out of Vancouver thats for sure!).

We are doing the doc dance, :cool1: UPS just left, and now we feel the trip is real also the upgrade is real have cabin # on paper now.

Only thing now is to get mother nature to work with us on this great adventure onboard the Disney Wonder.

Paul

We got our docs yesterday, too! Upgraded to a cat 6 with a balcony...all the way in the back of the ship. We're excited!! We've only ever been on deck 2!

Crystal, I can't imagine how long that trip down will be! We live in FL so we have just a short drive to the port. Safe travels but have fun!

I'm SO looking forward to my 30th birthday on Castaway Cay! Ahhh I can feel the relaxation now. I'll have to forgo the alcoholic drinks since I'll be 22 weeks pregnant, but it will still be WONDERful! :yay:

We got our documents yesterday as well. No upgrade from our cat 9 though. I'm ok with that, since I'm pretty happy with a cat 9. I'm still nervous about the idea of a balcony with a 3 year old, though I know no one has ever fallen off a Disney ship. At least, not yet!

Its exciting to see something official. This will be our first cruise, so we're all a bit unsure of how things will work, but I'm sure we'll figure it out. I've learned so much from reading these boards. Just hope we don't have weather problems!

I got upgraded from a Cat 9 to a Cat 6! I cannot wait! This is my first cruise, and I am so excited to have a balcony. When the woman called to tell me the news, she started laughing because of how happy I was. I love Disney magic! :goodvibes

I hope you all are excited! I am making a trip to walmart tonight to start buying all of my travel gear. We are so close!

Ok it seems the excitement is growing:yay: the closer we get to sail time some of ya'll that have not posted in awhile are back, Great.

Lets set the M&G for 2:30 PM Sept.10 at Promenade Lounge,

If you can stop by Please do so we can put faces with all the folks we have been posting with on these boards. I will make a sign to let everyone know where we are in the lounge.

Those families with kids that plan on putting a FE out please post your cabin # so we will be able to drop off the gifts for the kids.

Looking Forward To Meeting Ya'll

We will definetely try to stop by the Meet and Greet, but without kids I may be sipping margaritas by the adult pool by then! :rotfl: As for secrets: I have many....most of which I acquired right here on this forum. The 3N cruise is very short so make sure you relax and just enjoy the ship as much as you can. Oh wait, there is one secret that is very important....if you drink alcohol then bring your own with you. Just put it in your carry-on baggage and send it through the scanner. This tip saved us $$$. Also, do a cash account. You can always settle your bill with a credit card. This way your credit card won't have a "hold" on it while you are traveling and they won't "automatically" settle your account whenever they feel like it. A tip for those traveling with kids....bring your own sand toys and floats for Castaway cay. For the room bring....power strip, highlighters for the Navigators, address labels for the return luggage tags, post-it notes, ziploc baggies, shoe caddy for the closet, and a soft sided cooler. That's all I can think of right now. We are counting the days down!!

Thanks AgirlfromFla. for the info and ideas we look forward to meeting everyone onboard.:thumbsup2

We have been searching the Disboards for magnet ideas and have printed several already.

Just wanted to update,
we have rooms 6633 and 6635.
The only "real" kid, lol will be in room 6633. My 2.5 yr old son.
I'll be making just a small FE for him incase anyone has anything to drop of ;)
I also plan to bring a few things for the other kiddos. So who has kids that will have a FE out?

Took DD to college today...sort of the last major hurdle before I can really think about WDW and the cruise!!!! Can't wait!

I am so tired! It was pouring when we got there...ended quickly, then turned steamy hot.

Here's to fair seas and a following wind! And number 22!!!! I'm going to be in deep trouble when DD learns that I sailed without her, but tis the breaks!

Crystal enjoyed reading your pre cruise report and i'm sure your son will have a great time.

Paul
