Sept 1 2012 disney fantasy

I was under the impression they weren't doing it at all - has this changed?

We talked to one of the ladies and she said she had just gone on a staff tour of the ship, etc. and was told they are going to start the character breakfast again sometime in September. I really would love for it to be our sailing but I have a feeling it's not going to be. We knew 7days or more had the character breakfast but had no idea that Fantasy was not going to do it until they got all the kinks worked out. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

That would be awesome - we were a tad disappointed that it wasn't being offered

Well, they started selling VGT rates for our cruise!

We have to be getting close to getting our #'s now!

Wow! What a great rate for the VGT. Too bad my PIN wouldn't have worked for a VGT--that would have been a steal! (I guess that's why : )

And yet, no room #...

I'm kind of confused and disappointed. I thought gty and VGT were the same thing. I would have waited for VGT if I had known, or picked the category I really wanted. It's significantly cheaper and now I think I am stuck. Oh well. Going to have a great trip anyway. Just an awful lot of spending money down the tubes.

Sometimes it will still save you money if you cancel and rebook, even with paying the penalties.... Not for us, but we don't have a verandah, we have a cat 8 gty....

How much is the Vgt rate, because when I search for rooms I get the same price I paid when I booked in July of 2011.

Question for everyone going on this cruise.....

We are looking for a hotel to book for our overnight stay in FL before the cruise. Anyone have anything good or bad to say about the hotels that are close to the port?

I was looking at the Radisson at the port. I've read so many mixed reviews I don't know what to think. I've read that staff is both horrible and awesome, I've read that the rooms are dirty and clean. I've looked that this hotel mainly because of the deal to park there for just $35 for the week and the shuttle you over to the port and back.

Any tips, advice on any hotel in the area that offers some kind of park and cruise deal would be awesome. Thanks for any tips or comments.

42" inches is the minimum to ride at all. I believe it's under 48" that you must ride with an adult. Over 48" and over can ride solo, there is no maximum height limit.

Really 42"....do they make exceptions? My daughter is 40 or 41 inches.....she would love that and won't be able to ride! Maybe I can find some tall water shoes...lol. Do they allow water shoes on the duck?

I was hoping so as my son is a hair too short as well

I know how you feel, DD was 39/40 inches when we went on the dream last year and they wouldn't let her do it. They measure them in 2 places too, to double check, at the start of the line and then at the top. You have to be 38" min to ride the Mickey slide, I think 54 was the max height.

I can't say anything about the ones by port but I know there are some very cheap hotels near MCO we are staying at a hotel around there And getting a limo since it is cheaper for all of us to do that then take the Disney bus....plus I think we are going to make them stop so we can get some stuff at Walmart to being on the cruise :)

It would save each of our rooms about $700! We bought separate trip insurance though so I'm not sure if we'd have to rebuy that and if we would get same stateroom credit and all from ta. We JUST booked so I'm a little disappointed that we didn't receive a recommendation from any of the cruise experts to hold out for a VGT. Oh well. Done and over and can't wait for our sail away!!

We have always stayed at the Radisson for the pool however since we are coming in later I snatched a room on hotwire at La Quinta Inn and friends of ours switched to the hotel because they have the park n stay rates as well and a shuttle..... Plus Shirley from threads gave it an ok so I feel pretty good about it even though we have never tried anywhere else....:scratchin

Thanks for the tip. We did the same thing when we went on a cruise that left out of Miami. It was fun for the kids to arrive in a limo....we had one of those big hummer limos.
