Hi Everybody!
I am sorry I never came back after our vacation in june. We had issue with the sale of our house in the US and I was so frustrated that thinking about our expensive vacation upset me even more and I avoided it all together. We finally closed last Friday though and now i am getting really excited for the trip (and to see Marika who left here on July 5 to go work at a summer camp and that isa long time for me not to see my kid

).
I tried to scan through everything--but might have missed some info.
Does everyone still want a rollcall list, or are we good just chatting?
Is the first day meet officially at 3 at the piazaa?
I LOVED the question idea and loved reading through all of the answers. I'll add ours now in case anyone is interested:
1. What state and / or country are you from?
We are Americans (who lives all over in the states) but have lived in Germany for almost four years now
2. Who are you cruising with ? (friends, kids, family etc ... no need to get specific unless you want to)
My husband and our two teens (Marika is 15 and Rio is 13) and also my in laws, from Colorado
3. How many cruises have you taken?
this is our 10th DCL and we have about 7 or 8 on other lines as well
4. What is your fav cruise line. Explain
We really like several lines for differnet reasons. We did not like Carnival and have heard enough about NCL to avoid them--but RCI, DCL Celebrity and Princess are all equally good in different ways in our book
5. What activity(ies) do you most look forward to on this cruise?
I am looking forward to checkign out the new ship and its amenities
6. Fav dining room on any ship ?
I am odd, I like Parrot Cay on the Magic
7. What dining room to you most look forward to on this ship?
The Enchanted Garden looks fun to me
8. Fav cruise and/or vacation food?
We get excited to lots of American stuff, like chips and salsa and chicken fingers
9. Any vacation "traditions"?
for the past several years we have picked a theme song for each trip and then made a little video of photos and video clips from it (like the ones in my signature)
10. Do you get seasick?
Nope
My husband used to, but now he takes ginger pills and has no issues
11. What/When was your last vacation?
This past May/June--a week on the Adventurer of the Seas in the Med and then a week renting a beach house in Spain before we returned home
12. Most Memorable/Fav vacation
The first DCL transatlantic cruise in 2007. We met the best group of people and had such a nice time--and the ship sailed about half empty and with less than 300 kids on baord, which made for a very relaxing time
13. Do you work, and if so what do you do?
My visa doesn't allow me to work--but I recently found out I am allowed to earn 400 Euro a month, so I will try to pick up some English tutoring of kids after this vacation--I was an English teacher and a librarian in the US
14. If you were given a FREE day to do whatever you wanted to - what would you do with your free time?
Read!
15. What is your intention posting on this roll call (ie: precruise excitement chat, meeting friends to spend time with on board, looking for people to share excursions etc ...)
I love to make friends
I don't recall anyone asking (but if they did, I apologize!): Is anyone planning on dressing up for semi-formal and formal nights?
I don't have any formal dresses (OK, I don't have any that fit...) and my husband rarely does anything more formal than a suit (NO tux). Last time we followed the dress code in terms of shorts/tank tops/flip flops and were fine. It was a 4-night, so no formal night. However, walking through the ship to Palo in a dress, heels, and wrap, I felt like a celebrity (albeit, a D-lister

). Almost everyone stared and commented and acted like I was the only "dressed-up" person they had seen on the ship!
Anyway, I thought it would be fun to dress up, but I was curious if anyone went "all out"! I can't imagine feeling comfortable walking around in a cocktail dress after my last experience, but maybe it's different on formal night.
We'll be dressed! David and Rio both have tuxes and enjoy wearing them. I have a short satin dress I will bring and Marika has a long gown she wears.
That's what I love about Disney. MOST people get that kids are kids.
Anyone have a private car company recommendation. I tried happy limo but looking for someone with a little more flexibility.

You have probably booked by now--but I love Tiffany Towncar. They have been SOOOOOOOOO reliable in the past and so helpful, prompt and great when we had flight delays, etc. We went with Happy Limo once becuase they were cheaper and while I know others have had much better luck, our trip was a nightmare. So now we stick with the comapny we have a good history with.
Hi everyone so my sister is getting married on our cruise. We are having a huge issue getting the private room because we only have 8 and need 10 is there anyone who is not planning on doing palo or remy that we could borrow your names to get the room? You won't get charged for it at all. If anyone would do that my sister would love you forever!!
I assume you have long since gotten this taken care of. If not, we are not having dinner at Palo and you are welcome to use our names.
quick question...
on the family beach at CC, can you pitch your own tents? I have a 50 SPF cabana tent from onestepahead and would love to be able to use that for respite and nap time. But I'm not hauling it if it isn't allowed...
TIA to all you veteran cruisers

I may be silver, but it's my 2nd in 14 years and the first I was a naive college grad with NO kids!
Hmm, I have never seen anything other than toddler tents up. There are LOTS of chairs with thick umbrellas over them and very shady spots at the beach though.
