I'm interested in doing the Sephora makeover when I'm in Disneyland next month. I'll be staying at the Grand Californian. When and where does it take place (I assume within the Sephora store), and how do I book it? Do I book it through Disney or do I have to call the Sephora store? Thanks for your help!

If I remember right, the Grand has a special event for Sephora, there is a certain day that they have a group from the Grand who gets in before the store opens. You will get a list of offers that the Grand does for guests, and I believe you are given the info on who to contact to be added to the group list.

So will this happen upon check-in? I want to make sure that I make it into the group because I've read that they only take ten people in a group.

Yes. You can call a few days ahead of time and see if you can get signed up or at least find out what days they do it on.

Everyday you get a copy of the days events under your door on upcoming events, but since you really want to do it, I would check when you do check-in, they may be able to help you or tell you who to contact. You could also call ahead and see if you can find out any information a head of time.

Thanks for the help, guys! If I want to call ahead, even just for information, do I call the Grand Californian or the Sephora store?

When I touched base with VP about my daughters doing this, the planner said it was only available on Sat and Sun at 0830. So as suggested i would call the Grand.

is it only available to the guest of GCH? I would like to do it but we are staying at HOJO..

Yes, what is being discussed is for Grand guests, but you could check with Sephora and see if they offer anything to guests in the area.

We were told to call the hotel and ask for Guest Services to set up the appt.. I think it opens before the store opens to the general public and it costs $35 or $45, can't remember but whatever you pay to go, they give you back in a gift card to buy stuff there.

Here is what the Disney site says, "Contact the Guest Services Desk to book the fun in advance or book at check-in." When we did the early entry Build-a-Bear, we always booked it before we got there, up to a month ahead, I think.

From the schedule I have, it looks like they only have it on Sat and Sun at 8:30. If you do it, have fun and come back to tell us how it was!

Here is an old review I saw on another website(notice they called Vacation Planning for their appt):
"We did this for my niece. We called vacation planning and they schedule it for you. They let you in an hour before the store opens to the public. They have a little "workshop" where the speaker talks about their products and the various benefits of each potion. It's basically a skin care lesson. Then they direct you to various make-up artists and you get a makeover. While you wait for the artist and afterwards, you have time to roam around the store to buy what you want. They also give you a lot of free samples of the speaker's products. I can't remember very well but I think they came in a tied tissue paper gift for each of us. You were free to ask questions about the different products that the speaker was pushing and the makeover was a great way to start the day! Some people don't like too much makeup. Just let the artist know to keep it simple."

The special early-morning deal is for the Grand guests (though honestly I believe I got the info at PPH as well, it might be for all resort guests). You pay x amount, you get in very very early, you get a makeover and then you use your giftcard for x amount to buy something if you wish

However, as far as I know, all Sephora stores do makeovers for free (I know, I've gotten one at a Sephora!). Which is what you're getting, just early in the morning. So you could probably call (714) 758-1700 (got it from the store locator on Sephora's website) and see if they are like all other Sephora stores, and book through them, if you're not a Grand guest and don't mind doing it after they actually open.
