Separate Units For Men And Women?

I was on another message board recently where the topic of conversation was the sexual abuse of militay women. A couple of people posting there said that men's units and women's units needed to be kept separate. Well, how would the armed forces do that? I am sure that was much more possible when just about all military women were nurses and male nurses were nearly unheard of. How would it work now?
