Separate room ressie and online tx ressie - will call misinformation?!?

So, the room only ressie is booked. While trying to order my tx online, I noticed the will call option. So, I called WDW main number to ask if I order my tx online, can they be picked up at my resort. They say "sure, no problem. Pick them up at any resort!" OK, being the obsessive person that I am, I call my resort and ask the same question. They say "Nope, you can only pick them up at the parks or DTD" What the..???? Ok, I call WDW main number back, who repeats what they said earlier. I call the resort back and ask to speak to lobby concierge. He says "Sure, no problem. Bring confirmation# and we'll place tx on your room card!" I hate getting conflicting information.

So, my question is - to anyone who has been there recently and has done the same thing. What has been your experience?

Thanks!

You can pick up will-call tickets at any ticket window, be in at DTD, a theme park, or the Resort.

The only thing you can't do at the Resort that you can do elsewhere is activate/purchase an AP. That's because of the AP discount. However, everything else is doable at any ticket window.

Don't sweat the details...just go have a good time!

Thanks a lot for the info. The only reason that I'm sweating these details is that there's a big difference in waiting at the will call window at a crowded park and getting my tickets placed onto my room card by my resort concierge. :goodvibes

Plus, it's very discouraging to hear different information from people who work for the same company. You never know what to believe :confused3

This is just something minor. I'd hate to have the wrong info given to me that was actually major. :guilty:

I prefer to have my admission tickets separate from my room card. The new ticket designs are really nice & make a better souvineer that the plastic Room Key cards. There are 8 new designs.

Just an update. My friend ordered her tx online, to be picked up at will call. When she got to her resort and tried to get the tx there, they told her that she had to pick them up at the park. I still don't get it :confused3

Well if she was at the resort, and they told her she had to pick them up there, does that mean she's all set then? Or did you mistype, LOL?

I know it can be done. I've done it before. If you did mistype, perhaps she got a CM who didn't know how to do it. That's when you politely ask for someone else. Did she try at the front desk, or the concierge desk (all resorts have them now, even the values)?

Or maybe it has changed. If it has, it's changed very recently, because, again, I've picked up Will Call tickets as recently as this spring at the resort.

Regardless, though, if you can't for whatever reason I'm sure you'll still have a magical vacation, even if you face the burden of having your KTW seperate from your admission ticket and picking it up at a park. It's a minor detail that isn't worth the stress. If for whatever reason your resort won't do it (and again, it makes no sense they wouldn't), then you take five minutes before you go in the park. There are many windows, and unless it's first thing opening I've never seen more than a couple of people at most in line.

Have a magical trip!

Oooops, you're right. I did mistype (I changed it). She had to go to the park to pick up the tx. Sorry.

1) Just remember the will-call number.
2) Resorts need the actual number, not credit card number or name.

Maybe this is why I've never had a problem. I always bring the sheet they tell you to print out and bring from online. I just hand the Will-Call sheet with the barcode to the person at the desk at the resort.
