Separate checks ?

Yes, they can do this. I would tell the server right at the beginning of the meal, don't spring it on them at the end. It does take more time for them to do this. Also, any discounts (eg: AP, CM) will be limited to the single check.

I was just about to ask the same question - we're travelling with 14. We were just discussing how to split checks - who's room card, who has prepaid breakfast plan, who has kids, etc, etc - and we decided to split all group dinners into 3 parties - which divides up by immediate family and hopefully doesn't make it too difficult for our server(s).

If you plan on every diner getting a separate check - and the restaurant staff agrees to it - the server should get an extremely generous tip in appreciation for the extra work!

Remember though, if you are a large party but decide to split the checks into small groups, then a 15% tip will still automatically be added to the smaller checks, even if it's only for 2 people.
