Sep. 7, 2015 on the Dream

So keeping up with this board has had me in cruise fever for a while, my wife not as much. But since we finalized the fe list, that was what she has been waiting for. It was like a trigger went off in her and NOW she is in full planning mode! She's almost done with all the gifts and getting together the family's dinner outfits to match (we got to take a picture every night!) We have got our pirate costumes in and she is looking at how to make a dwarf costume for our son's Halloween outfit (our daughter has an adorable snow white costume that she wore for her dance recital this year). Also, we went though the faq on the cruise forum here and pulled our favorite songs off the cruise playlist to make our own. Can't wait to get this party started, i know it is going to go too fast! And a big thanks to all y'all for the insight on planning, there have been questions asked and answered that I didn't think to even ask, but I now know and it will make things go so much smoother. Y'all are all awesome!

Were available for anything Thursday on. We'll be at Epcot on Friday and MK on Saturday. Resort Thursday and Sunday

We will be at the MK on Saturday (probably walking over to BLT to watch the fireworks from TOTWL) and AK on Sunday day PVB pool Sunday night. I am planning some drinks at the Grotto, and watching the fireworks from the Poly beach that night too.

We just got back from seeing Jurassic World in IMAX 3D. Very awesome!! I love those movies!! That being said I completely saw Disney World in the movie. There was Main Street USA down to the "castle," monorails, and even magic bands :)

Ugh. I was looking at the life jackets that DCL provides because I was trying to get out of bringing the girls' puddle jumpers. They take up so much room! But I don't like the vests.

who all is going to WDW precruise and where are you staying?

We are arriving at WDW on Saturday 9/5 and checking in at the Polynesian Villas :rainbow: I'm so excited!! (and singing again, :lmao:)
We are also going back after the cruise until 9/13 and staying at Boardwalk Villas!! I can't wait for this trip!!

Joe, where is your favorite building at OKW? My friend and I are talking about doing a split stay in February. 3 nights AKV and then 3 nights at OKW. She hasn't been to either resort and I love them both. Last time we were there we were in HH building 14 which we had not issue with. We did always get off at the Peninsular Rd bus stop and walk back to the room though. I'm thinking I would like Buildings 23-27 or 16. Have you stayed in any of these buildings? We want a top floor studio and it would be awesome to have good golf views for my friend (she manages a golf course and is an avid golfer). Any suggestions???

Humm, I thought the pool on the ship is very shallow. Now Castaway Cay is a little different. What about the blow up arm floaters?
Mickey's Pool is shallow. About 6" around the edges and 2' deep inside Mickey's face. Donald's Pool is about 5' deep (I believe). So I can probably get away with no floatation while we are on the ship. Everyone would be happy at Mickey's Pool (assuming we go) and Nemo's Reef. I guess I'm more concerned if we are at the ocean. My Alex will want to swim, not wade. She is a fish! :fish:The arm floaters are not Coast Guard approved.

I've stayed at quite a few. I really have to think My favorite is probably #18 it has golf course short walk to smaller pool and short walk to bus stop, Then it would be #24 and #26. We had #50 once and hated it! It was so far from anything. We were lucky and were able to change our room. No way was I going to stay there for 10 nights you know give me something good!!! I worked on a golf course when I first started with the State and you can sit out drink coffee and critique how they were doing things. I always wanted to just go out from our patio and play a few holes.

We're at 66 days :sulley: does it count if your taking days off before you leave?:rolleyes1:rolleyes1 I wish there was time for us to meet up at WDW for a meet and greet maybe a drink too.:earboy2:
We're not arriving until Saturday afternoon. Kids have school and we couldn't get a Friday night flight.

Good to know you like 24 & 26. I was really thinking 24 & 25 would be close to everything, but back a little ways into the circle, so a little quieter. The one side of 25 would be views of hole 5 green. Thought that might be nice. Thanks for the tips :)

who all is going to WDW precruise and where are you staying?

We are flying in on the 2nd and staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort

We are going to Legoland 2 days before we go on the cruise wish it was WDW but hopefully we can make a nice trip there in the future
Has anyone been to Legoland if do any tips?

We did Legoland last year and loved it. It is a lot smaller then WDW but the rides had a nice theme to them like WDW and were fun for the kids. I think there were only 2 rides that we didn't go on because of height issues. You'll get wet on one ride but it wasn't bad enough to pack an extra outfit.

We are! Staying at AKL - Kidani, we are arriving on September 4th, my dads birthday! Going to Animal Kingdom on Saturday. Going over to BLT Saturday night to watch the fireworks.

Speedo makes some learn to swim vests that seem like they will pack relatively flat (at least a lot flatter than the jumpers!). They have them on Amazon for around 20 bucks, so you should check them out. My youngest has passed his puddle jumper weight and I am looking to get him one. He is addicted to his puddle jumper and had a freak out when I told him he was too big for it this year.......I am a little ashamed to say I still let him use it some because he just turned 5! :guilty:
