Sep. 7, 2015 on the Dream

I'll do my best!! It is vacation after all :-) I think I had a total of 3 drinks last year. Not a very high bar to reach!
It sounds like everybody is excited about drinking on this trip because no one regularly drinks at home! :drinking1We might all be in trouble with our low tolerance!

Very true, although I tend to talk a big game and plan to drink and then don't. We just aren't big drinkers at all. But the DOD has my name on it and some of the dinner cocktails look really good!

LOL, all talk and no game. Sounds like me! I didn't have a single DOD last trip. I am going to try one every day this trip. We'll see how successful I am.

I just want some yummy food, relaxing drinks, good conversation, happy kids, no sunburns, no sealice and great memories!

Misty you made me laugh, I have all these plans and you're right...we shall see.

Yup - same goals (minus the kids....well I hope your kids are happy) :flower1:

Being our first Disney cruise and having gotten such great information from all of you great folks, I've been terribly excited (as one would expect) since we booked all those months ago. When we watch the PVR'd Disney Cruise Line special on TLC, I get so excited. My hubby, while looking forward to the trip just indulges me most of the time...he know's that's easier. However, since hearing of the pirate night and deciding to go all out with a costume, he is SUPER excited too. He's making various props by hand (he builds scale models and tv / movie prop replicas) and is trying to make things for me. He's very into it and looking forward to the cruise now as much as I am. It's really nice to see! :boat:

Question on sealice....I have heard some say they've never had a problem, others say they have. Is this a real concern? Is there anything we can do to protect ourselves? GAH!
I've heard sealice is a problem near Pelican's Plunge. I don't think the other beaches have issues with it. If you plan to be over at Serenity Bay (I believe that's the adults beach and where I would be if I didn't have kids) then you are probably fine.

I've also heard if you rinse off (you have to take your suit off, insert joke from Joe) after you get out of the water that it rinses them off of you and you are ok. Something about they get under your suit and can't get away so they just keep stinging you.

I don't want to risk it with the kids. Cause if it's going to happen, it's going to happen to my overly dramatic 7 year old. They also say to bring vinegar to spray on any stings. I will have that as well as these Wipe Away things. Can't be over prepared!

If anyone has an issue, hunt me down!

I was reading this with my husband looking over my shoulder. I said that maybe I should bring a little bottle of vinegar just in case. Jake said, "Nah, I'll just pee on you." :scared1:Thanks, Jake...:sad2:

Thanks Jake is right! I've heard windex works on Jellyfish stings (along with urine). I think it's just a little safer to have a little squirt bottle of applecider vinegar. Boring I know!

I'm with you! I prefer boring.

I am going to chance it, but I may be hunting you down, lol!!

So, I just canceled Disney transportation to the port. We are going to use Happy Limo to get to the port and use Disney transport to the Boardwalk afterwards. I also paid all of our gratuities! I have just under $700 in Disney gift cards left. I will be using them for parasailing, bingo, DOTD, and some meals at the resort. Looks like I have just about everything paid for. Oh I also changed my port arrival time to 10:45-11. So we will be able to join the party, lolparty:

I also went shopping today, and got myself some clothes!! I stuck with casual because that's just me!! It feels so good to get things checked off the to do list!!
