Sensitive teeth - HELP

:lmao:
It totally does sound like a commercial! hahahaha. Maybe I should read over my posts before I post them so I don't come off sounding like I'm selling a product.
:lmao:

Oh no, it was exactly what I needed to hear! :thanks:

I have been clenching my teeth in my sleep to the point that sometimes I wake myself up (ouch).

YOu know, I think I do this too! I Just never realized it until just now. I actually dream that I'm clenching my teeth so hard that they all break.

I have this same issue from time to time; super sensitive teeth, pain after eating sweets, etc. I was sure it was a cavity. Went for my cleaning and my hygienist touched the exact sore spot. Turns out I was brushing too hard and was causing the gum to pull away from my tooth, exposing the cementum. I also used the Rx toothpaste and was told to pack that area with it to help lessen the exposure.

I'm interested in the Act rinse, though...I want to try it!

Ooh. That sounds painful too! You should try it. The worst that can happen is that you'll have fresh breath, right? haha. But in all seriousness, I bet it would help you too.

Oh my gosh! Hold everything! So I just went into my bathroom to brush my teeth and saw the mouthwash... it is actually ACT Restoring Anticavity mouthwash. I'm sorry for the mix-up! Man, if I WAS on a commercial, I would have seriously lost this job! haha.
So.. recap... buy ACT Restoring mouthwash!

This is it in the pic, correct? (I had posted this on page 1).

hahaha. Do I feel foolish!? I didn't even see the picture! But, yes, that is indeed the mouthwash. Happy rinsing!

Hello, I too used to work as a dental assistant. When we had a patient that had ground there teeth so that they became sensitive (myself included) we had a flouride paste that we would apply to the area and leave on for a few minutes. I know when I had this problem it worked wonders. So I would try and find a toothpaste or rinse with the highest percentage of flouride I could find and leave that on your tooth for a little bit. Good luck. It is amazing how much something as small as a tooth can bother you.

The ACT mouthwash is what I use, too, and it made a definite difference. However, instead of Sensodyne toothpaste, I use Crest Pro-Health (does -everything-, according to the label! ;) ). For the poster who had allergies, I read the label and it has no allergy warnings. I don't have a tube of Sensodyne to see if it has an allergy warning, though, to compare.

Hope that helps!

Is the Crest Pro-Health a toothpaste?

I just tried the ACT rinse and I'm really hoping it works.

Thanks to everyone for all the replies and great suggestions. I do feel better knowing that I'm not the only one who has had this problem.
