Sensing Pixie Dust I Am! A Star Wars Weekend PTR! New PTR Link pg. 77!

Just thought I would come over and congratulate the soccer team on the big win, for those who aren't on Facebook and might not know about it. :cheer2:
Good start to the season!

Oh Gosh - that would be me. So a belated congrats! ;)

I am seriously going on Facebook when Brooke starts her trip. Its my turning point.

*Sigh* You're making it very hard for me to remain a resister Mary Ellen.....
:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I haven't signed up yet. I am waiting for the last possible minute. But I really want to follow Brooke's trip! So I am making a sacrifice!

That's some serious pressure! I better deliver. :rotfl:

8 days and counting MEK! ;)

Awesome news on the win! :thumbsup2

MEK, facebook? I'll be waiting for your friend request!

Sorry Michelle.:rolleyes1

:cool1::banana::cool1::banana: Congrats on your first win!! Here's to many many more throughout the season!!! :cool1::banana::cool1::banana:

I hate when reality gets in the way of WDW trips.

We've decided to buy APs every other year so they over 2 summer trips. Our APs expire August 22nd at midnight and we check out the 23rd. I'm hoping I can stay away form Disney until August 2012. Not sure if that's going to happen. :confused3

It is hard to stay away from Disney for very long. I have been missing it something crazy this week!

I have the where to get real coffee section too!

You need a new section...what hairdo to wear on which day...you and Chelsea need to work on that! :lmao:

:rotfl: Maybe I will put Chelsea in charge of that! It would be right up her alley! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the feedback on SWW rope drop. we were getting a little anxious about that. We just decided to go for rope drop on Friday, then stay until the crowds annoy us. We have ADR's at both 50's prime time at DHS and also at Kouzzina at DBI -- this way we will have dinner covered whether we are in the park or not. Actually, I am really really leaning toward heading over to DBI for dinner. LOVE the menu online and think once he got there DH (and of course DD) would love the Boardwalk theme.

The Boardwalk is fabulous! It is really such a fun atmosphere! One day I hope to save enough pennies up to stay there!

The blu ray is pretty cool for watching action movies, not much difference for chick flicks. We like ours a lot,:goodvibes

Oh, I bet the Blu Ray is absolutely breathtaking with action movies!

I love the binder. I'm always impressed with people's binders on the DIS. I always thought that I was organized with my folder.

I do love your drink list. I have a similar list on all trips! LOL.

Thanks! At this point, I don't even think I really use the binder that much, but it is fun to have.

I loved Princess Leia for the same reasons. She was just cool! Oh, and I'm glad you were going for "shock factor" with her Pez dispenser because I agreed with everyone else that it was super creepy! :lmao: The doll was awesome, though.

I love that doll because she looks so much like Carrie Fisher. The action figures never seem to look quite like her.

Your trip binder is very thorough! I love it! :thumbsup2 Of course, since I'm currently obsessed with my packing list, I had to cross check it with yours! :rotfl: An umbrella? How could I not think of that? Scissors? Of course! Thanks for sharing :goodvibes

You're welcome! I have had to add a lot of things to that packing list over the years from trial and error. I remember all too well the frustration of NOT bringing scissors on a previous trip.

Great job on the binder Jackie.

I have a little notebook that I hand write things in & index cards for each day with our ADR's & park hours written on them. That's about as detailed as I get.:)

Thanks! I really only ever end up using about three items in the trip binder by the time we get there, but it's fun to have.

Hi, I came over this morning to catch up....I have to say thank you for putting in the links to the updates... so helpful! :thumbsup2

I toyed with the idea of going the same time as you, last fall.
Free dining is great, your going to love it!

I can't wait. I think it is going to be so much fun to have Free Dining and eat and eat and eat without having to pay for it. LOL!

My DD wants to go for a Star Wars Weekend sometime ???
Not sure why because she hasn't seen any of the movies yet...that I know of...:rotfl:

Too funny! :lmao:

I'm sure you would shudder at the fact that I only have the VHS versions.

I still have our VHS versions, but we also have the DVD versions. I remember buying the original trilogy on DVD after The Attack of the Clones. Chelsea had developed a little crush on Ewan MacGregor and wanted more Obi-Wan Kenobi. However, she wanted nothing to do with the Alec Guiness Obi-Wan. LOL!

Lexi is looking forward to the new revamped SW ride this year.
(it kinda makes my stomach turn a little but I go on and make the best of it for her) ;)

Disney keeps releasing little tidbits about it, and we are getting more and more excited.

As a child of the 70's I remember the Star Wars craze!
My nephews (we are very close in age) and I would play with the figures for hours.
Together we had all the playsets and vehicles.
My favorites were Princess Leia, Yoda and "Chewy" as I called him...:rotfl2:
They had those sheets too!

It's funny to think back to those years.
We played with Star Wars, GiJoe, Army men, Super Heroes, Barbies, Dolls, had tea parties and played Dress up.
Who knew we were so well rounded back then. Especially the boys! :lmao:

Such fun memories! I played a lot of Star Wars growing up. I had a chalkboard, and I remember making my Princess Leia draw attack plans on the Darth Star on it. LOL!

Love your Trip Binder...you always do a great job!

Thanks for the link to the colored maps. I was wanting one for POFQ. :)

You're welcome and thank you for the compliments on the binder.

Can't wait to read all about what fun you get into. You have so much fun on your trips together.

We try! :lmao:

I'm looking forward to meeting you for New Years Eve!

Same here! :goodvibes

Just thought I would come over and congratulate the soccer team on the big win, for those who aren't on Facebook and might not know about it. :cheer2:
Good start to the season!

Ah, thanks, MeMom! It was a great game! We were so proud of the girls. I will write more about it in my next update.

It's gotta be because they have such awesome coaches! CONGRATULATIONS!!! :cheer2::cheer2:

Thanks, Michelle! It was a really fun game!

Oh Gosh - that would be me. So a belated congrats! ;)

I am seriously going on Facebook when Brooke starts her trip. Its my turning point.

Thanks! :goodvibes You will appreciate the soccer story I am going to relate in the next update.

What? You are finally going to join Facebook, Mary Ellen! Hurray! Hurray!

*Sigh* You're making it very hard for me to remain a resister Mary Ellen.....

Out of curiosity, Michelle, do your boys have Facebook accounts? I am wondering if you are the last holdout at your house, too.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I haven't signed up yet. I am waiting for the last possible minute. But I really want to follow Brooke's trip! So I am making a sacrifice!

You have no idea as to the fun you are missing over there. :rolleyes1:laughing:

That's some serious pressure! I better deliver. :rotfl:

8 days and counting MEK! ;)

All is fair when it comes to joining the Facebook cult. LOL!

Awesome news on the win! :thumbsup2

MEK, facebook? I'll be waiting for your friend request!

Sorry Michelle.:rolleyes1

Thanks, Anita! Yes, Mary Ellen will be deluged with friend requests from all of us. ;)

:cool1::banana::cool1::banana: Congrats on your first win!! Here's to many many more throughout the season!!! :cool1::banana::cool1::banana:

Thanks, Jen! We have a lot of games still to play so the wishes are definitely appreciated.

Not only did the early Star Wars movies contribute to my nightmares and role models, but they also provided me with my longest lasting crush.

The quintessential bad boy…

HanSolo.jpg

Oh, yeah, Han Solo!

ChewbaccaandHanSolo.jpg

The blockade runner full of snark and sarcasm.

“Traveling through hyperspace ain’t like dusting crops, boy!”

“Wonderful girl. Either I am going to kill her or I am beginning to like her.”

“No reward is worth this.”

“Maybe you’d like to get back in your cell, Your Highness.”

Oh, I could go on forever quoting Han’s great lines, but he does it himself so much better. So, in case you need a little Han Solo love on this Saturday morning, here is someone’s idea of the top ten moments with Princess Leia. Is it any wonder I wanted to be her?

Top Ten Moments with Han and Leia!

And a couple more pictures…

Sorry, no Han Solo Pez dispenser. I do have some standards. :lmao:

My favorite story about Harrison Ford/Han Solo actually comes from the time my parents took me to see Raiders of the Lost Ark. I spent most of the movie with my head buried in my knees. I was terrified of so many things in that movie: giant bugs, snakes, skeletons, ghostly spirits escaping from the ark.

Upon exiting the theater, I turned to my parents and declared, “I hated that movie.”

My mom replied, “You know Indiana Jones is played by the same guy who plays Han Solo.”

I changed my tune very quickly.

To this day, I still think Harrison Ford is the cat’s pajamas.

In other news around these parts, soccer is consuming our lives, but I keep telling myself it is Soccer for Mickey. Charles is our girls’ head soccer coach (this is his sixth year coaching the middle school team), and this year, for the first time, I am his assistant coach. We have practice every day, and our first game was Tuesday.

That opening game is always so stressful because it is the first time we see the girls in action against another team. I was a ball of nerves, and it didn’t help that we had to travel an hour away to the other school.

We arrived in plenty of time and waited and waited and waited. We finally discovered there had been a scheduling snafu with the referees. The other team scrambled and found some, but they would not be arriving until 5:30 -- our game was supposed to start at 4:30.

The boys also play the same day right after the girls. Well, there was a lot of “discussion” back and forth about forfeits and such. We finally decided the girls would play, and the boys would reschedule (according to our association’s rules, all middle school games have to be finished by a certain time).

Our girls played an outstanding game. They looked sharp, sharp, sharp and came away with a seven to nothing win. I can’t begin to describe how excited we were about it. Our goalie is a sixth grader, and we were very nervous about how she would do.

So, all’s well that ends well. I just hope we can keep that momentum going. Our next game is Thursday.

As far as Disney planning goes, one day I hope to do some. I have lots of ideas for upcoming updates. There are DIS meets to discuss, Star Tours news and old memorabilia to share, and Star Wars Weekends plans to address. Things have been so crazy around here that I have missed the 100 Days to Disney milestone, and the Switch to Double Digits Milestone. We are now down to just 97 Days!

Oh, and Happy Belated Valentine’s Day!

At our house there were cards and Mickey Mouse lollipops!

I have to confess that I have only seen Star Wars once as a kid (and I wasn't into bad boys...I thought Luke was the cute one!)

Thanks to your primers, I'm partly tempted to rent it now. My boys are way into clone wars, I wonder what they would think of the original?

That was a great update CP! I agree that Harrison Ford is the cat's pajamas!

I agree that Harrision still has plenty of appeal....I have never used the phrase cat's pajamas but yes....I guess he is!!! :rotfl2:

Thank you for leaving out the Pez :thumbsup2

Congratulations on your first game!!! The girls are lucky to have great coaches!! :thumbsup2 Keep that Mickey money coming!! :cool1:

Supercute Mickey pops!! They (almost ;)) look too good to eat!!

I so wish we were able to go Memorial Day weekend. I would have loved to have GG slushie with you. But it doesn't look like a possibility. :sad2: My SIL is expecting, so I'll be in MD quite a bit now that the weather is beginning to cooperate.

Those lollipops are so cute!

I was always a Han Solo kind of girl too. :lovestruc

Congrats on the soccer win! Mickey money is a great motivator!!

I have been hearing some tidbits on the new Star Tours attraction. Really, really hope it will be in soft open the first week of May.

I am quickly realizing how much of Star Wars I do not remember.

May be time to rewatch the series. :)

Good luck with all things soccer. I am thankful High school swim is over and our recreation swim league ends in 2 weeks. I get to set and get everything ready for the final championship meet.

Keep piling up those Mickey pennies, I want to see you NYE! :yay:
