Sensing Pixie Dust I Am! A Star Wars Weekend PTR! New PTR Link pg. 77!

Well, this is my first year doing this whole assistant coach thing -- we will see how it goes. If you remember from last year, the teacher coach gets paid the head coaching salary even though Charles is really the head coach and makes all the decisions. It just seemed to make sense for me to be the assistant coach so we get both coaching salaries. ;) It has been so cold this week, and we have about 50 girls out there conditioning -- tryouts are next week. I am so ready to whittle the team down to the 20 girls we will have. Keeping track of all those girls has been a bit mind-boggling.

What a smart cookie you are, figuring out a way to get that head coaching $$ :thumbsup2 I wish we could do try outs here. Our district has a 'no cut' policy, not everyone has to get a jersey, but they can not be told to leave. Freshman baseball has 56 players out for 9 positions and the coaching staff has to work with all of them :sad2: They posted a depth chart and told everyone that if they weren't in at least the top 3 at their position that it was doubtful they would ever play. Still no one quit....

Oh, I love that our update made Jared want to watch all the Star Wars movies again! Hope he is feeling better now!

He is doing much better, thanks!

Ugh! That is a large gaggle of girls! But score on the stipends. Smart move. We used to do that with the theater stipends, made good extra money that way! :thumbsup2 That will pay for that Disney bill I am sure!

Cruise, YES, you all would really like it I bet!!! We have a Weapons bin, and that is EXACTLY what we call it too!!!! :rotfl2:

TOT, Jackie I have only ever done it once and so if you do again, I will be impressed!!!! :thumbsup2

Oh boy, Chelsea and Anita taking Jackie on ToT!!! This is a video that I have got to see!!! :thumbsup2

It's bound to be good for a few laughs. You will probably hear me whimpering like a small child. LOL!

So I have a Star Wars question:
Since 4, 5 and 6 are "old", is it weird to see "lesser" special effects in those and are the 1, 2 and 3 effects way cooler? Just curious!!

The effects are better in 1, 2, and 3, but I think the storylines in the older ones are better -- more character driven, so I like them so much more.

I think it's awesome that you are coaching too - I love that you figured out a way to get the money that Charles should have had and then some!! Very clever!

I had visions of Mouse Ears when I said yes to coaching. :lmao:

Makes perfect sense to me, and you get all that Disney money! :dance3:

Oh, yes! Trust me -- that was my first and only thought when I accepted. LOL!

Best of luck with the soccer team, and tryouts.

Thank you! Tryouts start next week -- I am excited to see what the girls can do with a soccer ball (they aren't allowed to even touch one until Monday).

ToT is a MUST do. If I could get down there and drag, I mean help you on, I would. It is not as bad as you think it is. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I will hold you to that comment about it not being as bad as I think it is. ;)

Being the Assisitant coach is genius!!!! More Disney dollars. :woohoo:

For NYE right?

Actually, Charles just mentioned this morning that maybe some of the money could go towards upgrading to annual passes.

Heavens, after reading about the No Cut policy in your district, I thanked my lucky stars! I can't imagine having to keep track of all those girls for the entire season! I would lose my mind for sure! 56 players the whole season??? Crazy!!!

He is doing much better, thanks!

I am so glad! :goodvibes

That many girls has been interesting. Of course, there are about six of them who always sit on the sidelines with some sort of "injury." Needless to say, they probably will not make the team. ;)

Soccer money equals Disney money in this house, for sure! That's why my antenna topper is currently the soccer ball with Mickey ears. :rotfl:

Cruise, YES, you all would really like it I bet!!! We have a Weapons bin, and that is EXACTLY what we call it too!!!! :rotfl2:

I could really use a cruise to someplace warm right now! I am so tired of being cold. January is really the most miserable month. :sad2:

TOT, Jackie I have only ever done it once and so if you do again, I will be impressed!!!! :thumbsup2

I told Charles we could even maybe head down for Food and Wine...you know he liked that idea! I did mention all the discounts we could get with an AP including the Tables in Wonderland. He liked that 20% discount on everything including drinks. ;)

The week we were snowed in, Chelsea decided she was going to become a pie maker. We had gone to the library, and she happened to come across a recipe book for desserts. She checked it out and declared she was going to learn how to make pies.

She scoured the Internet for additional pie recipes, made recipe cards, and put all of them in a recipe box.

Last weekend Chelsea made her first pie, a Chocolate Meringue.

I stayed out of the kitchen. I tend to be a Type A personality and knew I would hover and try to take over. Charles was Chelsea’s “helper” which translated into cleaning up after her.

I popped in from time to time to take pictures. I still had to bite my tongue a few times to keep from putting in my two cents worth.

Chelsea had to separate the egg yolks. She had a unique way of doing it, but it worked.

She did a great job assembling the pie. She even whipped that meringue for thirty minutes until it looked the way it was supposed to.

Here is the Chocolate Meringue Pie after it came out of the oven.

We had it for dessert, and Chelsea cut and served it.

The Verdict?

Chelsea did an excellent job!

My mother-in-law requested that Chelsea make a berry pie and a chocolate cobbler for book club tomorrow night. Chelsea is currently in the kitchen right now making them both, and I just heard Charles say, “You are not going to act like a diva and slam things around.”

I think I will just stay in here…;)

OH the AP discounts are nice Jackie!! I love the room rates, I love the TIW (plus free valet parking when dining at certain resorts), I love the World of DIsney discount!! Let's just say Disney has made me a permanent AP holder LOL!!!!!

OOOOH Food and Wine, what a great time of year to go!!!

WOW that pie looks amazing!! Thank goodness it's all the way in Georgia!! Tell Chelsea she did a great job!! Can't wait to hear how her next two pies turn out!!!!

LOL....yeah I'd let Charles handle the kitchen this morning LOL :rotfl:

Yum cobbler! That sounds very good! The pie looked lovely! Tell Charles she is just being Rachel Ray! (who, btw, I hear is not as nice off set as she is in front of the camera...)

Yes those perks were worth it for us, too! If we got one, again, it would definitely be for that too... F & W all the way! :thumbsup2

Chelsea's pie looked great!!:thumbsup2 My family and I stay at Corannado Springs a lot and we love it!!

:rotfl2: I love it that the pie maker is now acting like a diva!

That pie looks super yummy. I'm very impressed with Chelsea's pie making abilities.

:scared1::scared1::scared1: :dance3::dance3::dance3: He is coming over toteh DARK side for sure.
You all know about my side effects. :rotfl2:

I will hold you to that comment about it not being as bad as I think it is. ;)

The build up is worse than the ride. Hopefully you will think so too.

Chelsea,
Great job on the pie. I am sure the cobbler will turn out just as good.

As for the diva comments, just stay out of the kitchen. :rotfl:

Wow! Sure sounds like Charles has crossed over into our DIS loving camp! Yippee!! APs will be great and you know how I feel about F&W. Would be great if we could meet up again over dragonberry coladas or some other concoction.

Good for Chelsea on the pie making! She's more ambitious than I am in the kitchen. Agree, sounds like staying out of the kitchen for a while might be the way to go. An artist needs room to work... ;)

AP's!!:cool1::yay: I am thinking about upgrading ours in May as we will be going in April next year.

That pie Chelsea made looks great!! Good job Chelsea. Anxious to hear how the other pies turn out.

We are bracing here for -10 degree weather & 15 more inches of snow on Wed. I do not know where we are going to put it.

I think baking is a great hobby for girls that age! It looks like she did a great job!
