Seniors

you can ask anyone youd liek to fill out your rec forms... its not rude to ask a teacher to fill out forms for diff colleges at all.. and id use 1 essay for all 4 colleges.... just make sure that you change what you have to so that the essay fits for what that college is asking for

yeah but with the essays, the one i'm using for 2 of them is about why i want to be a nurse, etc.

but for UMB and Curry, that topic is not an option. so i'm asking should i just write another one to send to curry & umb, and use the one i have for the others, or write one essay (not the one i have) for all 4 colleges.

i have 2 teachers i could ask.. i just don't want to be that annoying kid that's like "hey can ya fill out two forms for me instead of one?" when i could ask each teacher to fill out a form.

Be very picky about who you choose to fill out the recommendation forms. Find the teachers who you had a good relationship with throughout high school, because they're bound to give you a better rec. That is crucial.

What do you have to write about for UMB and Curry? Make sure you get more than one person to proofread your paper. It doesn't look good if you have fragments and run-on sentences in your application.

Are you applying for scholarships? Do at least a couple, because if you are awarded them, but you still have that money you were going to use for that semester/year, then save it till you need it...i.e you want to take an extra semester.

I have already been through the application and transcript process for the school that I am planning on attending next fall which is NYU Performing Arts School The Tisch School. In January I have to go through the performance part of the application process which consist of a Dramactic & Comedic reading, Ballad & Up Tempo Vocal Performance, and Jazz & Ballet Piece.

I haven't really focused on the financial part of all this yet, but I do have a couple applications for scholarships already. I'll probably look into that once I get my app's and essays done. I'm hoping to get them all out by the end of Christmas break.

Curry has rolling admissions beginning Jan 1
St Anselm has priority nursing deadline Jan 15
UNH is Feb 1

Hey guys how's everything going?
Anyone apply ED/EA and get any decisions yet?

I didn't do EA, but I did mail out my app's and transcripts last week. Letters of rec. are going out tomorrow! So everything I could do is done, and now it's just the waiting. :guilty:
Thankfully 3/4 schools are rolling so hopefully the wait won't be terrible

I applied in like October and all my schools were on rolling so I have gotten 5 of my decsion letters back and they were all aceptances

Good luck you guys! :)

I'm thinking about taking some starter classes at my local university in the spring. You just need good SAT or ACT scores to get in, no essays or apps, thank goodness. Cost isn't too bad either. Just some simple classes to get me going...

I don't know if I should change colleges in the fall or stay at my local uni (if I decide to do the starter classes). It has a lot of great programs that I'm interested in, so I probably will. Hmmm...bleh. I don't know, I've been to the campus many times and it's great, the people are friendly etc. Plus it has a lot of standing in my community, which would probably be where I'll stay forever.

Senior here.
I applied to three different schools and have been accepted to all three. I wrote an essay that I used for all three schools on something I'm passionate about. I'm planning on being a double major in English and Spanish. I would also love to study abroad in Spain my junior year.

I applied two seven and I'm waiting on two more colleges. I wrote the same essay for all 7 colleges, and one of the colleges even sent me a letter telling me how much they liked my essay, I also wrote about something that I feel pasionately about. For my recs my school kind of takes care of that, but I asked two teachers to write them and when they were finished with the form my school has them fill out they just submit it to the college office and the college office sends them to the colleges. I asked my english teacher from my junior year, because I felt that he knew me pretty well and I asked my math teacher because I had her for 3 years in a row and I want to major in math so I figured that fit.
