Senior rates

I never thought Senior Discounts were given because of lack of wealth or anything like that. I've always believed it to be out of respect to our elders and given as a perk or a Thank you.

Well guess that says it all,,,Disney has no respect for elders. GRRRRR!!!!!

Not likely, it's to get them in the door spending money. Since they have lots of time on their hands, may as well get them spending.

Ok. Disney has Florida resident rates. Wouldn't it be nice if they had a senior rate? (even if its Florida or non-Florida resident). I mean think about it,,,Most seniors are on a "fixed" income and can't afford even a 1 day ticket. Anyone feel the same about this? (just curious)

As I've stated before in these kinds of threads, my husband and I, in our early 50s and grandparents to two, are AARP members and qualify as "seniors" for hotel discounts. We also qualify as "seniors" for the weekly grocery store discounts.

We both work and have a healthy income. Not six figures but it's enough. We have Disney Annual Passes. We both plan to live well into our 80s and with our family history, that's probably the earliest we would go.

We ride everything (except Astro Orbiters) at Disney World. Are *we* considered "seniors"? Probably not but *when* would that happen? What age? 62? What if we could still ride everything? 65? What if we could still ride everything? 70? What if we could still ride everything?

And going back - what about a 27 year old person would couldn't ride everything because of a life threatening situation? Or a 27 year old pregnant female? Or a ten year old child who is just scared?

I don't think Disney World, with it's myriad of attractions can sort out its' guests and say "you can only ride this, you can't ride that". And if a guest buys one sort of ticket and then finds that they want to ride one attraction where they are restricted but they now see they can do it, what happens?

Or are you saying that every "senior" over the age of *fill in the blank* can't afford Disney World so we should just give everyone over the age of *fill in the blank* a break no matter what their income and situation?
