Senior Pictures

Man i got the date of when i have to take my Senior Pictures. It is really sinking in now that i am on my last year of high school. Has this hit any of the other seniors out there? Have you thought that this will be the last free high school summer vacation? Man oh man, i haven't even written my college essay yet!! We are about to enter the last year of being tied down by our parents (even though i love them), and then next we will be off on our own! don't tell anyone, but im scared to leave for college.

I'd just like to give you and any other seniors a little warning. Don't go into your last year saying I can't wait to get out of here, you will regret it at the end of the year! I never said that, but I know so many people that were looking forward to it being over, and were so upset at the end of the year. I start college this September, and I'm not looking forward to it, I am so scared. I just wish I could start high school all over again!

Knowing that this is my last year of high school is exciting but also scary. I mean the kids I go to high school with I've known for almost my whole life. And then suddenly these people who you see everyday....you won't see at all. It's just weird thinking about "This is my homecoming dance, last football game, last Spirit Week, etc"

I'm a junior and already realizing how short of a time I have until I graduate!

I mean this year all of my band buddies I have known since 7th grade are graduating! and once they leave...it's my turn!!!

ahhhh!! that is the scariest thought!

To all the grads and seniors out there... I'm going to be a sophmore in college this September. I hated high school because of some of the people and the schedule that you put in. I was so scared to leave for college last year becasue I'm kinda quiet and thought that it would be tough. But, I absolutly loved it and can not wait to go back next month. My family is very close and it was hard to leave them, but I realize that I miss my new friends from school now too and can't wait to see them. Def. take everything in for your last year of hs b/c I had a great year and. College is something to look forward to because the experiences there are like no other...have a great year!!(if anyone has any questions about the topic, feel free to pm me)

I'll second what FunkyRooster said about College!

College is an amazing experience! High School is fun, but I can't imagine having to go through it again. There was always too much drama going on with everyone. In college people are there because they want to be there, and to have a good time.

They are two worlds apart, but you will never look back and wish you were back in High School again once you've been in College. It's all about freedom and choices. Just make sure you make the right ones.

Maggie - don't worry, I didn't write my college essay until the day before it was due. And hey, I'm going to what was pretty much my first choice.

All the incoming seniors - it goes by SOO fast. I couldn't believe it, seriously. And it was pretty fun, even though it was stressful.

Dana - where are you going to school? What are you scared about? I'm a little nervous, but mostly excited - I love the city and I've been wanting to go to college for so long. I'm relieved because I'm almost positive that I got into the drug and alcohol free dorm that I wanted, which was really important to me. But I *am* nervous about roommates, and just meeting people in general - I also can't believe that I'm finally going to be in college, it's so weird.

Amy--I'm going to William Paterson University which is only about 20 minutes away from me, so I'm going to commute. I'm just scared because even though I went to a really big high school, the college is even bigger! I have a couple friends that are also going, but I have no classes with them, and all my classes are so stupid (they made our schedules for us, we had no choice). I also don't know if I'm playing softball, but I know I will be so nervous when they have tryouts, especially since I never talked to the coach and she doesn't know me.

Wow, they made your schedules for you? Why? What are you taking?
I bet you'll have a great time though, you'll probably meet tons of friends in your classes. And you seem like a great softball player, I'm sure you'll make the team there.

They decided it would make it easier since we wouldn't know how to schedule our own classes. But it's stupid because they gave me a lot of stupid classes that I don't want, and they gave me horrible times (especially the fact that I have classes on Friday, my first one at 8:00 and my next one not until 2:00!). I'm trying to get that changed and hopefully I won't have Friday at all. My classes are current health issues, intro to theater, writing effective prose, racism/sexism in the US, freshman seminar, honors environmental foundation (which I'm hopefully changing to psychology since I didn't want honors my first semester, and I don't want a Friday morning lab for 2 hours and 40 minutes!)

My goodness! Did they have any input from you when they chose the classes? We went to orientation during the summer and we chose our classes and then they showed us how to register.

I didn't even know they were going to schedule our classes for us. My friend told me about a week before orientation that they were going to. They told us they looked at all our applications to determine what kind of classes we would want to take (and this is the first year they're doing this). But I am not happy at all with these classes (like theater for instance, I have never shown an interest in it, and I never planned on learning anything about it!) Also, I'm going to be a math major and they didn't even give me classes that have anything to do with math!
