Senior discount

Just an FYI, the disney resorts offer a senior rate discount! Maybe this is not news to anyone else but I was sure suprised as a WDW vet.It is for 60 and older and I was quoted a rate of $193 a night for the DLH. (I'm not sure now if that included taxes and fees etc). She said it was a great rate and the same as the employee rate. (THis if for the last week in August which is still regular season I think).

What really suprised me though is that the agent acutally told me about the rate! When I was just asking about availability she asked me first whether we were members of AAA or if anyone in our party was 60 or older! Not like calling WDW when you have to practically drag the discount info out of them!!!

I think I will check again to see what that rate includes and what the actually total rate is per night. BTW she quoted a rate of $172 for PPH and $252 for GCH.

I have been trying to find a senior discount for my grandparents and all i hear is that there are none for WDW can you tell me where you got this info?

We've used the senior discount many times when I go with my mother. There are no special perks other than the discounted room, I think it ended up being around 30% off the room rate. You do have to prove that the senior is with you, they ask for the I.D. of the senior, and wanted to physically see them. Now if they would only do a senior discount ticket rate we would be set. There are only a limited amount of senior discounted rooms, but I've been known to call several times a day, several days in a row, until I finally got someone else's cancellation.
