Senior citizens

Oh yes, there are lots of us there without grand kids. Although it's not quite the same without them, we still go and have fun.

we have taken my parents and in laws many times. They love it, because it is relaxing to be at the campground and they have the freedom to come and go as they want if they tire in the parks or just want to met us for dinner in a park, or don't want to cook for themselves. They have even had their own friends visit them at our camper. It works out great for everyone.

I came to the realization last October that I am approaching senior citizen status (physically, that is, since my mind still operates at the 17 year old level). My wife and I took our first solo trip to FW last fall - kids in college! Well, we did take the dog - he loves it there. Anyway, it was great! Can't wait to do it again! :thumbsup2

Especially in the winter, there are many of us staying here. My wife and I are here for five more weeks. Lots of fun and helps to keep us young. Getting very pricey, though, and not sure we can do this much longer. But to answer your question, yes, there are I believe several hundred seniors here right now. Snowbirds, glad to be down South.

Senior citizens at Disney are just grey haired 7 year olds.We just returned from two weeks in a cabin at FT by ourselves,we had a ball. :mickeyjum We even went and had dinner with Winnie the Pooh at the Crystal Palace. We also took full advantage of the Photo Pass sevice so that both of us could be in the pictures with our friends Mickey and all his friends. We had 62 pictures and had the disk made before we left the last day, what a great service. When you are our age you can really stop and smell the roses and still get a nap in the afternoon.Enjoy your trip and may it be as magical as ours. :wizard:

My DH and I aren't yet "senior citizens" but getting close. The last couple of years we have gone down for 2 weeks and have flown our college age kids down for their break.

This year it will be just the two of us for the full two weeks. We only go into the parks 3 days, but enjoy the whole Disney experience relaxing at the campground. There is always something to do - it can be exciting or as laidback as we wish.

I also like the fact that if my DH has the van off golfing, I can ride WDW transportation to another resort or to DTD for shopping, etc.

We prefer having the kids with us, but enjoy WDW just as much without them.

That is exactly what my wife does when I take the truck golfing. In fact, this last trip is the first time I didn't play down there, and she was a little upset that she was losing her day, so I guess I'll have to make a tee time for the next trip.

ftwildernessguy ... Any off-site golf courses that you can recommend? My DH went to some country club place about 20 min away that was about $50 w/ cart and lunch. Not sure if it is still open this year because they were going to take the course out and put condos in.

My DH loves the WDW courses, but even the twilight rates are a bit much $$$.
